Heard SMRT have plans to put one split shift DD to replace a bendy on 172...not sure how true is this...
(My own speculation: since there are 4 bendy slots, and that 3 of them are rotating shifts by the 3 BCs, I am guessing that 172S102 may be converted if this is true since it has a perm BC..but abit waste to put on 172S102 as the timing for this bus usually dun have much passengers esp for PM peak)

hold.
Only SLBP and BNDEP deployers. 265 (AMDEP), 315 (HGDEP) do not have DDs. 23x (BRBP) have some DDs excprt for 238 (BRBP) due to Tight Turns.

Add BBDEP along with BNDEP and SLBP.
It is AMDEP/HGDEP that are not putting DDs on feeders.
So it seems like SBST also lets individual depots make their decisions.

You forgot Amdep for 410.

Amdep have la,410 DDs belong to which depot?

I think could be BRBP since AMDEP/BRBP are interchangable. But then again it is under LTA BSEP not really on SBST.

410 is AMDEP and 7515 belong to BSEP?

Since when 23x (Toa Payoh feeder) got DDs?

Well, I feel that what 172 needs is more high capacity buses during peak hours. Does not matter if is DD or AB.
That conversion is probably only because a AB is retiring.

Bishan is under Amdep,Long before the Bsep DDs added to 410,Theyve already deploy VSO and B9TLs out of their own accord

Same fate like 187 & 964,Lone DD.One 972 DD can deploy on 172 to replace another bendy bus.I couldnt imagine if SBST were to take over 172..sure you see at least 6 DDs

He is nitpicking,He will find faults one after another.I am also a bendy bus lover but i can accept the facts that most of our infrastructure and vehicle populations cant support too many bendy buses..

Ok now you tell me which part of svc 265,268,315 routes cannot deploy DDs?
Originally posted by SMB145B:So in future, no more A24s or bendy purchases? But I still wondering why there is some inconsistency.
Look here,In the first place TIBS made a grave mistakes by buying many bendy buses. They didnt do survey and do not take note that their depots arent big as SBST one..Then problem came in where they buy those Lances,OCs and etc where they lose a chunk of money every month paying rental for overnight parking in various places. So SMRT did improve by deciding that DDs is the best way to go since their depot go no more spacing(Minus the bus park)..Woodlands Depot can only accomodate 288 SMRT buses cause the remaining 32 lots has been taken by PA Lances,Bus Plus and even Taxis,Amdep the notoriously small and cant accomodate DDs only can fit 158 SMRT buses cause other lots has been taken by a small pool of Bus Plus,PA plate Lances.Kjdep on the other hand only managed to squeeze 215 SMRT buses.Lucky for them LTA build a sub bus park for Woodlands which can fit another 240 more buses thus you see why many unregistered/unpainted buses park there.

didn't SBST tried deploying a DD on 238 once?

hmm, but isn't BRBP closer? yeah maybe didn't read more on 410.

there is no problems for DD on these three svcs. Is just that AMDEP deployers do not want to deploy DD, especially on 315.

But Brbp space is constraint with Taxis,Car servicing and Comfort bus,There is only 265 lots for SBST buses and Amdep can accomodate over 520 buses.Unless LTA takes over and relocate CDG to other locations and Brbp can easily fit over 150 more buses.

i dont think he is nitpicking, but more of him not noticing 7515 was perm i suppose?

from what i read, the only one he said cant deploy DD is 238, the rest he only said he it does not have DDs currently....

315 HGDEP bro...

I don't think there is an issue for DD on any of these 3 services... it is just that AMDEP management prefer to have SDs ply at 03-04 mins interval instead... foolish decision IMO
what about the old CSS depot in Geylang Fringe? Can't SMB use it?

exactly! And there is also one pair of AP shift BCs who knows how to drive bendies, spotted them driving bendies on Sundays before..maybe can convert their slot to bendy slot or get them to learn DD and drive DDs next time...
