Yew Tee definitely should get new service to BPJ once DTL2 starts. It will be a disgrace if people have to use 302 to head to CCK and then change to LRT and then to DTL2.
Imagine living at Crescent and wanting to go to Bukit Timah, you would have to do:
302 --> NSL at Yew Tee to CCK --> LRT at CCK to BPJ --> DTL2 to Bukit Timah
Isn't it more feasible to have two services to BPJ instead to stagger the load? Otherwise, those living along North 5 may not be able to board the jam-packed buses at all ...
Depends on how fast BPJ ITH development is.CCK already clustering with buses so for the time being no new service will be introduce from CCK

Lets get 1 service to BPJ first... YT has not got a new service in light years... So even 1 direct service to BPJ is a great improvement.

BPJ Temporary bus park does have space. It is just in an odd location, where buses have to kind of loop twice if they are going to cck/hillview direction. No problem if going bke direction.
Originally posted by BusAnalayzer:sgwiki shows sv 960 now to have 32 buses from 30 buses... and sv 966 to have 26 buses from 24 buses... I don't think both of this is accurate, and someone is playing mischief... please can Woodlanders verify!!
1. 960 has have got the fleet add since end-2013, aka 960AP56, 960AP57, 960AP58, whereby most duties crossover to 913 in the early weekday morning. But has not been confirmed since then because there aren't any daily 960 bus spotters to varify these additional slots.
2. 960AP59 has been scrapped, eliminating the 962A crossover and hence getting a change from TIB1142A to SMB5049M. TIB1142A has changed its crossover trip to 911E in the early weekday morning before performing its trips on 960, but under another duty slot. Hence, I will continue to keep a look out on the deployments under the respective slots especially for the Enviro500s.
3. Indeed, 966 has got another fleet add again. SMB3561M has been seen on a new BSEP slot aka 966AP93, whereby it is finally under an "Official" BSEP slot after some time under this service. I have been observing that 966AP10 has been receiving either SMB5080X or SMB5081T without fail. If I remember correctly, recently the 966 Weekdays schedule has have got this description "Add 2 Reg" since last week. But, no MAN NL323F has been observed to be "kicked out" of this service after this fleet add. I will also observe the duty slots and deployments on this service too.

This odd location makes it generally awkward for northbound services - that is, if they are also to serve BPJ MRT.
Were we to have a BPJ - Yew Tee service (as you've suggested here), the BC's would have to travel the stretch of Woodlands Rd before they arrive at their first stop at BPJ station along Upp Bt Timah Rd, then loop around Bt Panjang Rd and continue the journey back down Woodlands Rd. The same journey again when they return, end at the same stop, and head back to the bus park. It is still somewhat troublesome and inefficient, especially during non-peak hours, because the route has to serve the MRT station twice.
Which is why I still somewhat support extending a nearby short trunk like 177, THEN add short trips with moveable start / end points to reduce this redundancy.
EDIT: Sorry for ranting on this in the wrong thread. Suggestion consolidated at this post.

- The morning peak can have a short-trip start directly from the bus park heading towards KJE, then end at BPJ MRT (UBT Rd), and then immediately loop back to the bus park, if not Woodlands Rd & Yew Tee for the next round, until the end of peak hours when it will return to the bus park.
- The evening peak would start from BPJ MRT (UBT Rd) (seeing that it's difficult to start from the stop opposite), and end at Woodlands Rd just after KJE.
- In both cases, the BC driving the short-trips would be able to return to the bus park to rest.
- At non-peak hours, the route would just continue down UBT Rd / Hillview Rd and to Bt Batok, providing comfortable transfers to other services.
That is definitely the disadvantage as I pointed out before... but it is a temporary arrangement... so I dont think LTA will introduce a Hillview YT route because of that.
If you see even 176 loops around BPJ twice before terminating... Cannot help it. Let's hope YT - BPJ service comes to life.

Thanks if your information is correct. Many times such edits are done and then they turn out to be not true. 966 fleet was said to be 27 buses... then became 24 buses... now 26 buses again... difficult to find the data credible when there are so many fluctuations from one month to another.
Similarly on 960... it keeps getting added 2 E500s... then someone edits it back to 30 buses... the it went to 29 buses... then became 30 buses.. and now 32 buses again... So someone is playing mischief (maybe not you... but out of the many changes, there is someone who thinks he has the most right informaiton, and then turns out it wasnt right after all)
The best is to look at the bus rostering at Int/Depot if you have access.

So much for your explanation. 960 edited back to 30 buses.
BusAnalayzer you do bus loadings right? Why not you sit at the 1st bus stop after WRI during weekend(0630-0930)(1700-2000) and weekends to observe how many buses does 960 deploy. You will be suprised i tell you.
why u like to ask ppl to do bus loadings? why dont u do it urself ah mr cbb

Sorry... I don't do weekends... that is exclusively family time... week days also my work takes me all over Singapore... so sometimes if I know I am going to a particular area, I plan in advance what routes to do loading analysis on... sometimes ask my driver to go and drop car home for family... while i do some loading before getting back home :) it just helps me destress from work.

no i dun..
Originally posted by SBS 9631X:Should be fleet add for Sv 87 though in my opinion. It used to be 3356E followed by 9462S directly with no buses in between during AM Peak towards Sengkang, but nowadays since 2 weeks ago, as what I've posted earlier, 3464B somehow appears in between 3356E & 9462S..
I'll observe again and update here soon.
Anyway, the latest LTA article just kinda confirmed that Sv 87 did indeed have a BSEP fleet add in Sep (last month). So that bus would be 3464B.
Full list is here for improvements of Q3 2015 (for easier reference):

More interested in the non-BSEP fleet add / conversions for Sv 23, 89 & 168 though in Q3. Got any extra buses on these 3 services recently?
I can't recall what bus they added or converted for Sv 23 though in Aug.
Hi
---- Double post ---
5066M seem to be on trial on 172 leh..everyday on different split shift slot...i have seen it on 172S106, 172S107 and 172S108 at least for this week....
Originally posted by BusAnalayzer:So much for your explanation. 960 edited back to 30 buses.
I have added in both SMB5082R SMB5083M into the fleet section, but it is likely that SMB1582R SMB1583M are out of the fleet though..
