Riveria LRT bus stop: 5.59am wait sbs 3/83/85
6.03am take sbs 83
6.11am reach Punggol int
6.17am sbs 117 arrives at berth B4
6.47am reach khatib Mrt
6.59am reach sembawang int.
Just to get an estimated feeling of the time to reach destination.
Of course not going to be super accurate because today is Sunday and it is the 3rd trip for a new launched service.
Initial findings:
48 min from Punggol east (Riveria LRT) to reach khatib mrt. This is slower than sbs 85 which takes 33 min plus 10 min waiting time.
The longer time for sbs 117 is attributed to the winding around seletar aerospace and the super long yishun ave 1. This is as good as sbs 85 going 1 round in Sengkang east to west. So to all detractors who say sbs 117 is much faster, please think again. Take note there are only 2 passengers on sbs 117 today and the timing is already as such.
Exactly 1 hr from Punggol east (Riveria LRT) to reach sembawang int. Sbs 117 takes 42 min from Punggol int to sembawang int. In future, with increase in load, may need add 10 to 15 min.

there seem something wrong in ur travel time calculation for 85. i took just 2 day back at 715pm and took me 31 min just to reach sengkang east rd stop. riviera lrt stop will be at least 15 min frm there as still to do sengkang loop around rivervale area.
so my estimate that 85 take at least 45-50 min to Riviera LRT and not 33 min as u say.

Hi mr proudtobeme, your 31 min is from where to where? Mine is 43 min including 10 min Waiting time from Riveria LRT bus stop to Khatib MRT. Sengkang east opp Blk 323 (near compass point) is 10 min to Riveria LRT. Not 15 min. There are only a few stops to Riveria LRT and the route is quite fast.
For sbs 117, seletar aerospace drive (about 1.5km with few stops) and seletar west link (about 3.5km non-stop) and yishun Ave 1 (about 2.2 km) makes the journey seem long. For people stay near Punggol MRT if no need transfer, it will be faster than sbs 85. For anybody else who needs transfer, I think sbs 85 is as comparable. Even going to Punggol rd by 83/136 transfer to smrt 965 is comparable too.
For any other doubters, please take the route and see for yourself. Do not just use computer or phone type based on reasoning. Cheers. Thanks.

mr dupdup. i surprise ur message. u say i type from comp when u know i took serv 85 and put loading. i took serv and note timing so i know 31 min is to sengkang east rd. okay if u say 10 min from there to riviera, make it 41 min. still no 33 min. i just type wat i saw so no need use bad language to me. i only state what i note down.

I heard when Sv103 vs Sv117 at Seletar area, Sv103 would reach Yishun First? Is it true?
Anyway, it's still first few days...hard to say. Look at 972, initially the journey time was long, but it's shorter now iirc..

Hi mr TIB429E, sbs 117 is faster to reach yishun ave 1 than Sbs 103. Sbs 117 does not have to go west camp road unlike Sbs 103 which needs to.
The distance to yishun is still fixed, no matter today or in future. The time travelled will be increased due to no load today as compared to increasing load in future. Cheers. Thanks.
