You give DDs, people also complain. You give people bus services to their bus stops, others want certain services to skip so as to be faster. You give people direct routes, they want express services. Cheers. Thanks.
Hi. I totally know. Dont get so worked up. I am just posting what i heard only... so yup..just in case if suddenly got multiple bendies deployed we all know what happened.. cheers :)

Exactly! i also shocked...well...people just like to complain lah..no choice..never contented :)
In fact 979 getting DDs is still okay IMO as it takes some time from Bukit Panjang to Yew Tee. Especially for Choa Chu Kang Cres residents they may prefer a seat at the upper deck...

I personally observed 979's loading. It is still manageable. It might need DDs when it is extended to stagmont ring in the near future.. With 979's possible extension, i think 307's loading will drop very soon.
979's frequency needs to be beefed up as i noticed there's only one bus arriving every 12-15 minutes. DDs are not yet needed. I liked how 979 is routed via KJE for the timing being as the loop from CCK north 5 area to Yew Tee MRT is one big loop.
Originally posted by SMB42P:I heard that there are passengers complaining about DDs being deployed for 979 coz the old people have hard time climbing up to the upper deck, so SMRT planning to deploy bendy for all its split shift slots (i heard got 3)... I am not too sure if this is true though...
Anyone saw any DDs on 979? Today there was 1 MANdy though...
The MANdy was only deployed for 1 special trip to ferry the Member of Parliament and his party members.

What time u observe its loading? Off peak hours? Maybe off peak can but weekends and peak hour need DDs IMO

A mandy was deployed today (1Jan) as well (SMB8035H)..should be on TQ slot

Yes i agree that loading for peak and weekends are crazy.. today at around 12pm, spotted SMB3154E hardly able to pick up anymore pax upon reaching North 5 towards BP... some even was unable to board the bus already

Lets not be so quick to judge. It is not even one week.
Any new service give 1-2 months before you make loading or fleet conclusions.
From my observation,979 definately need a few DDs during peak hours..The loading is encouraging.

Wow...for a moment I tot 979 wouldn't really have much old ppl...
But putting DD on peak hours slot should at least be okay...

Today also one bendy, TIB1087B..

It actually depends.. today around 320pm, spotted THREE 979s within 10 mins at CCK North 5... first bus SMB3153H was nearly packed to the door. SMB3154E came 5 mins later, fully seated, SMB3159S came another 5 mins later, fully seated with a couple of standees... TIB1087B left Bukit Panjang around 330pm with less than 10 pax onboard...
983 should extend till dairy farm rd
2 A95s on 979 today ; 5904 & 5899
serv 47 got 4 dd and not 3 as state prev.
sv 190 got capacity downgrade.
2 DDs -> 2 SDs. Now operating with fleet of 11 SDs instead of 9 SDs. Not sure this was wise decision. Would have been better to reduce on 960 instead.
961
Add 1 Reg (BSEP) (aka 961AP91)
Bus: SMB3155C
Today's MRT shuttle got DD...5020U

SMRT suddenly decided to add 3 buses after seeing competition coming in from 117.

Its obviously playing chess again,190 can reduce 4 SD duties instead.190 can operate with 37 buses with 32 DDs deployed,All they need is to adjust their freq during peak hours.972 can do well with 26 DDs(16 A/P 10 SS).700 can just loop at Suntec full days with 18 buses(3 DDs) and 960 can cut 2 SDs already.
