Agreed,There is no weekend perm in SBST context. They got a lot of split buses to play around unlike SMRTB.

If got "a lot of split buses" then how come it's always the same few that do the same svc every weekend eh

Its because BCs are allowed to request the buses during weekends provided its available. If that particular buses is in great condition why not?
SG5338G > BBDEP
On 132 a few weeks ago. I have seen the same departure time from Hougang Central done by SBS9590E, SBS7316U and SBS7407R.
Suspect SG5345K is perm SLBP 192, have seen it doing SBS9538H's slot since last week.

Actually tbh. If you want to be more accurate, it would make more sense to say, eg "buses from this particular svc (eg Sv 100) etc will do (insert svc, eg Sv 89) on Weekends"
Because what i realised is that, though what you said isn't entirely wrong, but they don't always use the same buses for each day of the Weekend / PH in a month (ie, Sat & Sun might differ).
But the buses used for the Weekends in that same month, are usually the buses from the same svc throughout (like Sv 401 typically uses the FFw buses & Sv 33 from BNDEP on Weekends, but the same combi of 4 buses don't always happen each Sat & Sun for 1 month).

Cameos rather actively on other services like 4 and 18.
SBS8670P seemed to be a more likely replacement...
8670P is definitely still SP.
8420U (& in fact, the other 2x Sv 513 DDs as well), are effectively SPs on Weekends & during Off-Peak. Because Sv 513 is a Peak-Hour only svc.
As for why you see 8420U always cameoing, i would like to point out that, Sv 513 runs 3 trips (3 buses) during AM Peak.
But PM Peak, Sv 513 only runs 2 trips (2 buses) from the City. And from what I recall, the 2 trips during PM Peak, are always done by the 2x DDs, not 8420U.
So effectively, what this means is, once 8420U fulfils its AM Peak duties for 513, it's pretty much SP for the rest of the weekday. Hope this clarifies your questions.

maybe it is due to the parking lots arrangement in depot? 138 parking lots in AMDEP is beside sv57... sv57 buses alway do sv138 on weekends.(but not really same buses) .. not so sure about 89/100 parking lots though...
