According to LTA facebook svc 123M will be extended to Harbourfront Int and loop at Tiong Bahru.
It didn't mentioned that 123 will be extended as well. However the map indicates that 123 is also extended to Harbourfront hence the confusion.
Also there will be a service 386 in Punggol side. I am now in mobile so not cconvienence to post the poster.
New bus service Feeder 386
Punggol Int - Edgefield Plains (Loop)
A new feeder service, Service 386, operated by SBS Transit will make it easier for residents at Edgefield Plains to get to Punggol MRT and Bus Interchange. It’ll ply Punggol Central, Edgefield Plains and serve 3 schools – Edgefield Primary, Punggol View Primary and Punggol Secondary.
Service 386 is the 30th new bus service to be rolled out under the #BSEP
Duplicates 83/62. Seems like the route i proposed has become a reality lol

Route Extension of Bus Service 123M
Harbourfront Int - Tiong Bahru rd (Loop)
SBS Transit’s Service 123M will be extended to ply between Harbourfront bus interchange and Tiong Bahru Road, and its operating hours will be extended to include weekday off-periods and weekends, and more trips will be added to enhance service levels.
The extended route will not only provide better access to commuters heading to Harbourfront MRT station and Tiong Bahru MRT station, but also give convenient access to amenities such as Bukit Purmei Hillock Park, Harbourfront Centre, Radin Mas Primary School and VivoCity.

I kept saying that the Punggol service is going to be feeder to Punggol Waterway but some like dupdup kept insisting it is a long distance route.
This was obvious as the blocks along Waterway Banks (already in occupation) have no LRT or bus service today. Similarly, Ridges HDB complex should also be ready by end of year. So this route makes absolute sense.
It will be even shorter service than 371. Shortest feeder. But I guess 386 has potential to get extended in future along Punggol Waterway once all the HDB complexes develop in 2016-2017 timeframe.

dupdup.. i was correct.. already 2 new services announced this week..
also service in punggol is feeder to punggol waterway like i had predicted.. it is not a long distance trunk service what you were saying.
I think 386 will be as short as 225

386 shortest feeder according to me.. will get 3 BSEP Citaros (HGDEP)
123M should get 3-4 BSEP Citaros (ARBP)
* Good decision on 123M, as Bukit Purmei is so close to NEL, yet people had to go roundabout with 131 via Henderson to get to NEL. Now can do so quickly. Will also reduce load on 123 towards Tiong Bahru, as people will go to Vivocity for amenities - closer than Tiong Bahru Plaza. Good decision.
I think 386 would get 2 buses
While I agree on 123M's extension to Harbourfront I don't see any need for 123 to extend to Harbourfront either unless the missing link between Harbourfront and Outram Road/Havelock Road as well as the link in between Holland Road/Napier Road/Napier Road and Harbourfront is vital. Furthermore 123M will be a full day service.

Hi mr busanalyser, it is not a service to the waterway. It is a service to edgefield plains near the waterway. All along, I stress that my trunk service is a dream and I have clearly repeated many times that it is a dream which I hope it will be revolutionary idea.
Why LTA introduces this service is also good. If you stay in Punggol, you realize that when you take Sbs 3, 83, 85 from Punggol int to the fourth bus stop along Punggol central Blk 649, it will take you 5 min in the past. Nowadays, it takes you 7 min and counting. Why? There are many people making use of sbs 3, 83, 85 alighting at the third bus stop (which everybody knows is spectra bus stop). Ever since spectra guys move in, the number of people using spectra bus stop increases tremendously over the past 2 yrs.
This sbs 386 will help to offset some of the people from sbs 3, 83, 85 who alight at the spectra bus stop. By turning into edgefield plains, some people living in the 2 blocks of rented flats near church and the flats near spectra. So in the end, it is good for those who used to have a fast journey going to the end of Punggol central.
Good move by LTA, though the route can be further enhanced to cover edgedale plains near horizon primary school and Greendale primary school. The route did not duplicate any LRT and it serves as another indication that it will give residents a doorstep service as the intended residents along Blk 670A and 672A are in the middle of 2 LRT (damai and oasis LRT).
Once again, bus service goes to the well developed Punggol east first before developing Punggol west. Their idea is just to give LRT to Punggol west first rather than giving them new bus services until around 2 years later.
Very good strategy. Introduce a bus service which benefits the intended residents and also other residents who used to have a fast ride home from Punggol mrt! Kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Hahaha.
Basically LTA advertised sbs 386 covers Punggol view pri, edgefield pri and Punggol sec school. These are all covered by sbs 3, 83, 85, 136 already. Cheers.

Hi mr busanalyser, yes I am wrong. But mine have always been a dream which I did stress many times! Take note this is not a feeder to waterway. See my other post on how it will return Punggol central residents at the end back to what was like in the past. If you stay here, you will understand. Cheers.

I think 284 is shorter. It is the shortest-ever route by distance.
386 > 2 buses only
Freq17mins
Its a heavily duplicated route...
sv3,83,85 serve punggol central...
The other side has 50,LRT...
50 freq at Punggol Drive is max 11mins. .
LRT is 7/8mins
REDUNDANT service, another white elephant route like 11...

Im saying that 386 may be as short as 225, yes 284 is the shortest route in singapore followed by 225. Sometimes 284 off peak takes only 5-7 mins to complete whole trip
ohoh... hello...

Hi mr Acx1688, yes it is a bit redundant. Sbs 136 also serves Punggol central. As seen from my other post, sbs 386 makes residents along edgefield plains walk much lesser. It also helps alleviate crowded sbs 3 and 83 and 85 from Punggol mrt to the east end of Punggol central, bringing it to the level of yr 2010 when spectra is not there yet. Nowadays spectra bus stop is quite heavy passenger load. Cheers.

BPJ to East? Nt 966...
Oths... Eg CBP...
1. Train all the way, aft bus to CCK
2. Bus to DBG, train
3. 966 > 25 >24
4. 966 > walk > 24
Wah liao LTA please come up with good links or those prev approved by PTC submitted by SBST/SMRT...
HEAD STRONG will result in spectacular wastage...
70 morning freq twds Shenton Way is 4mins

I think just makes sense to have 123 also extend to Harbourfront and boost frequency. 123M will overlay on 123... that means LTA will play only some peak hour/off-peak buses.. but it will majorly be 123's job... just like 143M, 163M and now 131M.

859A duh..859B should renumbered 883 la for goodness sake
I agree what is with 859A and 859B... it should be a new feeder service 883 or 889 whatever they want to renumber.

dupdup... the HDBs along Edgefield plains end are the Waterway HDBs... Have you been there?
You live in Punggol right? Go there and see the development along the Waterway stretch. 386 will in future turn right and do the entire Waterway stretch catering to all HDBs there. This is a good and much needed service.
Ty LTA.
