LTA will be expanding hougang interchange, punggol interchange n upper east coast terminal
LTA bias! Always design ads on BSEP Wrights instead of the E500s...

Hougang: O/S next to Hougang Mall, exits are there
Punggol: O/S west of Punggol MRT/LRT stations
Cheers for Hougang and Punggol but Upp East Coast?Might as well built a small terminal beside Parkway Parade for 15 & 966..Changi business park is also on e way..
What is O/S?

Outside..I suspect the extension is only for another 4-5 svc with 12-14 lots
Is it the big empty land?
a look at the master plan and the street map together at OneMap.sg shows that these are only interim measures.
Hougang Bus Interchange will be replaced directly with a new ITH across the road in future.

Likewise for Punggol Bus Interchange.

East Coast Bus Terminal is at an area that is set for a major new town: Bayshore. It may be replaced with a new bus interchange/terminal elsewhere in future.

Because Lta are not treating those BSEP E500 as under BSEP mah. Till now no BSEP sticker. Press release also put those service upgraded under BSEP as initiative by PTO.

Hip hip hooray. Long time ago, I have already said Hougang and Punggol are almost full. No way for additional bus services to keep coming in. Yet people keep proposing new routes which start from these interchanges. Now LTA finally goes ahead with expansion and says 5 new services will be introduced at these interchanges each. It is time! Cheers.
Punggol to accomodate the growing housing estate, Hougang probably to support new svcs to Buangkok, but I'm not really sure why Upp East Coast needs so much space. It still has spare capacity, will be supported by the upcoming terminal at CBP, and the new developments at Bayshore don't cover such a large area. Unless the plan is to divert some svcs from Bedok Int to Upp East Coast.
Seems like the Northeast and East areas are getting huge boosts in bus terminus capacity, but no immediate plans announced for the Northwest and North areas. Temp WDL Int may not really add capacity unless it is left there even after the works at the existing Int are done. WDL North Int won't be built so soon. Bt Batok Int is okay for now, but CCK Int needs more capacity. Let's just hope the new Bt Panjang Int isn't too small.
Upp East Coast might be link with Bedok Int..Maybe a few svc shortened there instead?

Next to hougang mall??? it is beside the current interchange...
for punggol, it is the plot of grass near the bus park....

sv13/43 are already serving the route.. no need 3 more service from marine parade..
i would say that sv26 is a candidate to extend to upper east coast... and sv35 might start from Upper east coast...
for those want better bus service vote for WP SPP SDP and you will get interchange to be extend and more bus services from LTA.

Hi mr wsy1234, your logic is flawed. Look how bad potong pasir estate was over the past 20 over years. Cheers.
This is certainly good news. Both HG and PGL desperately need a larger extension.
UEC I am surprised, but it could be bcoz I have heard Sungei Bedok will get developed in future.
Hip hip hooray. By yr 2016, sure have 5 more services start from Punggol. Also more wider boarding area will be built plus more toilets. Currently the toilets are so dirty. Cheers!

Potong Pasir still have the friendly neighbours around. If Chiam was still MP, people will still the personal touch.
Just don't bring politics here.

On the opposite side of Hougang Central, opposite the current Interchange.
853 will do Yishun to Upper East Coast daily
