Hope this disabuses us of any illusions.
MAN,ND323F,2014.
Sooner all HK operators will be interested..Fuel economy also not bad consider the amount of power the A95 had over its competitor...Mercedes Benz should start making triaxles citybus DD with its Citaro or OC series..VDL should take advantages too despite they have the two axles chassis..
Volvo B9TL 310hp/1400nm vs ADL Enviro 500 340hp/1500nm vs Scania K320UD 320hp/1600nm vs MAN ND363F 360hp/1800nm..

For MB, if they have the intension to produce Citaro DD, they will need to come up with more powerful engine to counter their quality heavyweight bodyframe + bodywork...
Yes bro the demo only use the 320hp version..SMB388S also use the 320hp but already been finetuned to achieve 360hp but still with 1600nm compared to PB batch.

They got the 354hp version of the new 7.7l engine..Sg or HK routes no need for high horsepower but high torque will be sufficient..High power suits Intercity or coach more..

Well, if the meaning of the chassis' name can be altered simply by retuning its engine, calling it a ND323F or a ND363F does not matter. But no one has evidence that SMB5888H has been retuned. So it is best not to assume.
I am inclined to believe that the open-top is not an A95, but I am not certain. It might even be a MAN coach chassis with an open-top body. That bus has been pretty elusive and a VIN check would be useful.
That open top could be using the NL323F chassis too

Open-top definitely is an A95, saw the VIN pic before, it's a WMMA95... same as SMRT & KMB ones, but the last few numbers had a very huge jump aft SMB5888H...
Oh yes then that's conclusive. There's an entry for the 2015 version of A95(ND323F) in the database too, uploaded less than a week ago. Thanks.

Abang...
When you post the post I interpret it as HK now trending A95...
And I take it as u trying to say HK now on A95 spree and mass taking in A95... (Which is obv not true)
Am I right?

E500MMC is specially designed and tweaked for the HK market, with steep staircases that allows the highest carrying capacity, and a reliable and familiar 340hp Cummins engine that delivers the torque to climb its many hills.
Tender results recently have not been in favour of MAN too. NWFB and Discovery Bay newest types will be B9TL Wrights, KMB started taking delivery of steep staircase B9TL Wrights recently, and CTB is just taking in Enviro's and Youngman's. MAN buses have traditionally been associated with New Lantau Bus and Park Island's bus services in HK, but even Sunlongs can overcome their 1:6 slopes in Tung Chung now! The odds are stacked against MAN in HK. Too little, too late. So if the Singaporean RHD market is not huge enough for MAN, you will expect to see them giving up on RHD development after a few years.
If Transperth can consider A95 as a high capacity bus for the busy Alexander Heights sector that would be nice. Unfortunately the infrastructure in Perth doesn't quite support DD leh
In future we might also see the Lion City M 10.5m variants cause LTA got intention to venture into Midibuses segment..Another option is ADL Enviro 200 10.8m..
Youngman's Wiki page has a photo of a bendy. Are these deployed in HK too?

Cannot be
No way will HK buy bendy
Not even MTR Buses

SMB388S was registered as a NG363F, meaning that at the time of registration, it was tuned to 360hp and even now it is still has it tuned to 360hp.
There is no physical difference between a 320hp, 360hp or a 400hp D2066 engine*. Its just a chip and tuning which determines how much power and torque is delivered.
*If using the same particulate filter technology.
Its the same engine except different horsepower/torque rating and im pretty sure there is significant differences
So the Lantao ones is 320hp/1600nm?
Quite a lot of A95 for NLB..
Hopefully SMRT gets them in bulk.
Hope so too. NLB is a loyal MAN customer, and SMRT somewhat so too. Bus companies other than KMB have started ordering from Volvo and MAN because they are worried that ADL cannot cope with the massive orders from KMB. NLB is expected to deploy them on cross-border routes, just as KMB looks set to deploy their new 12.8-metre buses on B1.
Hope when SMRT decided to buy the PB A95 it will also include the DRL system

NLB is looking to deploy them on B2 and 38 - the two most crowded (and profitable) routes of theirs.
Besides, NLB is always looking to deploy DDs on B2, so as not to lose out to the other B series by KMB & CTB. This could be seen when it received ex-flyers from CTB and they were almost immediately all transferred to B2. I dont see any reason they wont do the same for at least majority of the A95s.
Yes. Very much agreed. And I hope they don't govern the engine!
