Each person has their own preferences, I personally prefer ZF because the Voith ones are slower in accleration and tend to have violent jerks if the driver forces a kick down.
Originally posted by carbikebus:Sooner all HK operators will be interested..Fuel economy also not bad consider the amount of power the A95 had over its competitor...Mercedes Benz should start making triaxles citybus DD with its Citaro or OC series..VDL should take advantages too despite they have the two axles chassis..
Volvo B9TL 310hp/1400nm vs ADL Enviro 500 340hp/1500nm vs Scania K320UD 320hp/1600nm vs MAN ND363F 360hp/1800nm..
A bit harder for Mercedes to have a double deck product, they don't have the continued experience in building double deck city buses, just single deck O.305 chassis modified to accomodate a double deck configuration. They also do not have a fully low floor chassis product range which they can base a double deck on, and the double deck market is small but crowded with competitors. Their money would be better spent creating new products for the existing 12m and bendy markets, of which they have a substantial share in.
They can try if they want,Its not impossible..Who would have thought VDL came out with 2 axles low floor double deck chassis?

VDL had the product for the UK market for quite some time. The DB300 was already offered in the UK as the chassis for the Wright Gemini 2 product (The product with Volvo chassis is known as the Wright Eclipse Gemini 2). The DB300 was developed from the DAF/VDL DB250 low floor chassis, and the DB250 was based on the MCW Metrobus.

The A95 of course my brother..
Hope the production batch installed with Vogelsitze seats rather than the demo seats which is very thin and uncomfortable during long journeys.

Not really though to me. Although they seats are thin, but I find them nice and comfortable at least with slightly wider design for our bums. Rather, it brings Berlin's A39 feel with the ergonomically curvy seat design which looked better than the Volgelsitze seats. Thicker & softer sponge for our bums, like the VSO, will be the best on this NewCity seats...

Oh that's nice. So SMRT ditches ADL and goes in for A95 :)

Hopefully LTA is convinced to order a few BSEP A95 too.

I agree with that. At first I felt that the cushions were kinda thin, but it proved to be quite comfortable after seating on it for quite awhile. Also I find the seats gave me a little more personal space as they are wider compared to those Volgelsitze 750.
Hopefully the facelifted front design with the DRLs make it to the production batch, together with Ster seats, Aesys EDS and ZF gearbox. Lastly, I also hope that the overall bodywork quality would be further improved. I took SBS7777Y recently and it was rattling all over a stretch of bumpy road where a typical B9TL Wright would do fine. The ADLs may be creaky on the inside, but they seem to be quite fine as a whole unlike the older Gemilang bodied buses.

I hope SBST ditches Volvo and goes for KUD.

So confirmed that there will be MAN DD production batch? So the trial had been successfull?
Originally posted by carbikebus:The A95 of course my brother..
but how did you and No_10_Thomas get the info on PB of MAN A95?
Originally posted by iveco:I hope SBST ditches Volvo and goes for KUD.
Me too.. way too many Volvo on the road. But to be honest, I still like the WEGs more than the E500s.

He always gives credible information. But here he has not mentioned MAN A95 specifically though he has posted in the MAN A95 thread and not E500 thread. So guess, that's an indication.
++ SMRT is in love with MANA22s ... I dont know why!! I hate them... though the A24 is quite good.
