Because im a part time Bus Plus driver and No 10 Tomas works for SMRTB..His information is more reliable of course.I only knew a few friends from the management side but also dont really trust their info although its an indication..Previously one of my friend says that contractor will come and do reroofing of AMDEP but instead they remove it..Hahaha
i feel that the MAN and scania bus is good.. way better than the rest..

++ SMRT is in love with MANA22s ... I dont know why!! I hate them... though the A24 is quite good.
Maybe because they are too common haha. Actually the A22 chassis is a very good chassis, like the A24. For me the reason why I do not really like them is because of the cheaply made Gemilang bodywork combined with SMRT's standard of maintenance. As a result a lot of the older A22s are already showing it's age, such as loud radiators, weird engine sounds, black smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe and bad overall condition of the exterior and interior panels, which many have became loose. Also another point I don't really like about the A22/A24/A95 series is the creaky sound from the rear axle whenever the bus moves off from a start or just before a full stop. It's very irritaing especially on badly maintained MANs.
Actually SMRT need not buy the A22..Too powerful for Sg roads.

I actually feel that the bus itself is the best among all WAB SD rigid fleet currently in SG... Great horsepower, powerful engine, remarkable acceleration, does not vibrate much, and amazingly quiet (at least for the buses themselves).
Hopefully they are treated more properly under new ops... Seeing soot at the back of the bus at the rear seats on the pioneer bunch makes me feel really uncomfortable.

I would think its a common but misplaced perception that Gemilangs are cheap and therefore they are not good. I would say it isn't really that true. Yes, the Scanias are quite honestly crap IMO, but those were one of the first mass production citybuses they have supplied, and they were supplied as kits to local assemblers instead of being built in Malaysia. But years have passed between the first Scanias and the MANs, and I think Gemilang has done a pretty good improvement over the years. Moreover, they give their customers a chance to customise their buses, instead of shafing a integral design with very few options.
The creaks on the MAN A22s are not limited to MAN buses and have been observed in recent O.500LEs in Australia. It is a brake mechanism and is designed to work and sound that way. This is in contrast to the worrying creaks from the body flex on the Enviro 500s, which sound like they have very bad body design and built quality. I actually feel safer on the Wrights and on 5888 due to this.

Yes I agree that Gemilang have improved a lot over the years, the one on SMB5888H is probably the best so far. The bodywork on the KUBs and the OC500LEs may be less well built as compared to the one on the A22, but if you take a look at those well maintained ones, actually they are still quite good. My point is at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if you have something that is cheap. If you take good care of it, chances are that it will last just as well.
Oh, so the creaks are from the brake mechanism. I rest my case on that then since it is part of the bus. Actually I find the bodywork of the Enviro 500 being quite fine, but they do need some serious review on their assembly and bodywork building methods, as not even the old Alexander Royale bodyworks creak like that.

Yeah, remarkable acceleration. Especially when the BC decides to start flooring from the bus stop just to beat the amber light at the junction a few metres ahead. The 0-40kmh timing uh..fastest among the other types of buses currently running now.
(the Citaros used to be quite near, but then SBST & SMRT limited back the acceleration somewhat)
Wouldn't be too far off to say that the A22s helped alot of the SMRT drivers & the services to stick to their frequencies better..
Of course mah,10.5 litre engine with 320hp and 1600nm of torque..If the acceleration is almost e same as Citaro then better burnt the bus..Road tax wise its much more expensive than Citaros and E500s.
The only thing i dont like is the lion head replica bodywork..Should just follow original Lion City diesel style
How come i notice that the A95 is somewhat slightly taller than other DDs..E500 i notice is slightly shorter than 12m,Looks like somewhere around 11.95m while the A95 looks like 12.1m
when new order come? 969 and 67 get more dd please.
Bear patience please,As you know SMRT style of buying new buses takes time unlike SBST which came in bulks..Tow out chassis to JB,Assemble take few more days then drive back to Sg
Not only 67 & 969 need it badly,There are tons of other trunks also need it so much.
The production is here. Believed to have Mobitec EDS & Day-light LEDs like HK ones.

Add on:
- Silver stock rims
- Back to Volgelsitze seats
- Same Euro 6 front styling as KMB/NLB
- Same rearside vent as KMB/NLB
- No more vent below BC window
- Redesigned aircon vent
- Redesigned engine cover with 3rd brakelight
- Full length EDS glass instead of small rectangular piece
- Higher upperdeck safety bar like the E500
- Diesel-point is the same as E500
etc...
Basically, more changes can be found unlike the SBS Transit's new batch of Wright with nothing as surprising as this...

Yesterday debut was on WT & 269D, today is on perm 265B-07...
AMNE1 is powerful enough to even overtake VO3x on Tuen Mun Highway on slope... Good impression to many...

Definitely a good move by KMB to invest in such good potential. Also boosts HK bus ops's rep as being proactive in trialing new bus models

So if the rate of the E500 arrivals from Jun 2014 till now are a good reference, maybe there would be like half of the purported 90 A95's reg'ed by end 2015?

Is the order of A95s = 90? I haven't seen any press release, have you? Or all this is insider info.
