Think more of 5 Citaros and 3 Wrights

Yes that is fine as well.
Cause 201 routings I don't think many lax too,but will survived
Originally posted by carbikebus:Cause 201 routings I don't think many lax too,but will survived
will have heavy loading b/w West Coast and Clementi for sure where sv 189 operates. For Clementi-AYE, will eat into 154's load. So if 201 comes first, it can get pretty crowded.
Also for Pandan residents taking 51 to JE or 201 to Clementi will be almost same time given the congestion to enter JE Interchange during peak hours. So eventually, we might see some Pandan/Teban residents who have to take EWL to city choosing Clementi over JE or those wanting to go to Clementi will go directly anyway now.
Additionally, the new stops along Penjuru road, might encourage ppl in PM to alight at Clementi to get door-step service. AM though the loop around Teban/Pandan could be more time consuming alternative to sv 78.
Last time many predicted 49 get healthy loadings but in the end its Citaro loadings..

Actually 49 does have healthy loading. 70-75 pax in am in both directions towards Lakeside MRT. Opposite direction is low.
Yeah loadings for a few stops,2 DDs back up is more than enough..PM opp direction also a few stops..somemore got a couple of svc along e way inlike 291
sv 201 gets 7 buses only. sv 49 having much shorter route has 7 buses. Very surprising.
Like thought, sv 201 gets DDs - 3 DDs/4 SDs... I think should have got 8 buses otherwise frequency from WC to Clementi MRT will suck, and ppl will sure complain.

Loyang-Changi might be Loyang Depot loops at Alps Avenue cause WT Alps Ave shuttle suppose contract ended on January 2015.
Jurong East might be a new feeder svc

I meant Kallang/Geylang area... just like Changi/Loyang area.

High likelihood that it can be ALPS ave service from Pasir Ris Interchange.

For the Kallang one, I feel it has to be either St. George's estate-Upper Boon Keng OR Haig road-Mountbatten-Meyer service.
Apart from these two regions, there is no need of other service in this region.
LTA announces 2 new bus services: sv 41 and sv 140

here's the link for details.
Comments on sv 35
I think it is a great move by LTA
- connects Changi Beach
- Alps Avenue (without requiring ppl to have pass) .. if it was routed via route of sv 89 for instance, you need pass to enter... i think just for Alps... you don't need
- connects to Tanah Merah... faster for ppl than connecting to say Pasir Ris as another 10 minute train journey.
I feel sv 35 might get some DDs with this change.
Comments on sv 41
I think it is a good route unique for Toh Tuck areas to connect to Jurong East. But the parallelism with 183 surprises me and doesn't as well.
I think 41 is introduced to relieve the load on sv 183 which is so crowded during peak hours and even 183B is not helping much to relieve the queues.
But what a waste it would be if sv 41 cannot accommodate DDs. I hope it does.
Comments on sv 140
Exactly the same route I had articulated. It was needed for St. Wilfred's estate. Very happy for ppl living there. Also a good alternative to residents along Upper Boon Keng who only had option of 175 all these years.
Expect full fleet SD for this service.

Don't forget 35M which will operate current 35's route on selected timings...

But that's not a new route... that is existing route, renumbered. So no comments there :)
Looks like svcs 41 and 140 will also connect to future MRT stns on the Downtown Line, in addition to the existing MRT stns served. 41 will serve Beauty World stn at Jln Jurong Kechil/ Upp Bt Timah, while 140 will serve Geylang Bahru stn at the junction of Geylang Bahru and Kallang Bahru. Hopefully 140 will be more successful than the old SBS svc 20 between Sims Place and St Wilfred Rd, by supplementing 175 along Geylang Bahru as well.
Including svc 41, Toh Guan Rd will have 8 full day bus svcs (41, 52, 105, 183, 188, 333, 502, 990) and 5 peak hour/weekend bus svcs (188E, 188R, 543, 657, 868). Already quite crammed right now since the road isn't very wide. 41 could have been routed via Boon Lay Way or Jurong Gateway Rd instead, anyway 183 already connects Toh Guan HDB flats to Toh Guan industrial area.

Part that is bold:
Even i was surprised to see 41 to be routed via Toh Guan road... when 990 was recently introduced to ply Toh Guan as well, and then you have 183 following same route until Toh Tuck Ave. Very surprising!
Would have been better to go via IMM and the new hospital complex or Jurong East st 21. Surprised no buses ply Jurong east st 21. Road doesn't seem that narrow but cannot do DDs I guess.
The only thing for 41 & 49 is the numbering that doesn't make any sense... lol... when 40, 42, 43, 45, 48 travels Eunos, Bedok, MP areas...
Would rather 41 be numbered as 336 since it's from JE Int and 49 as 244 since there are 240 & 246 in the area...

Yes... that's good planning to start connecting services to future lines...
I think both will have good loading, but 140 will not need DDs. 41 should have DDs.
