I believe they take the opportunity to set choa Chu Kang Ave 2, 3, 4, 5 right this time round and only use keat hong close as a looping point in this exercise for future. After this exercise, it will be quite some time they will make amendments in choa Chu kang again. By the way, nothing for yew tee. Hahaha
I agree. The Keat Hong close arrangement is only temporary. 983 will be diverted via ave 6 to ave 1 further to BPJ in future.
Originally posted by azharjj:cck ave 6 is alrdy completed, with a pair of bus-stop. are u refering to another road, cck ave 7?
i believe that one day it will go ave 5 > ave 6 > ave 1 > cck way > cck rd then to BPJ
cck ave 7 and keat hong close not connected. should be ave 6. right now i feel keat hong close arrangement for 983 is temporary. in future it will not go there (301 will continue to loop there anyway).

it was already very crowded. now with G/W, 301 and 983... will be fun to see how they are managing.
Basically what I am realizing is that LTA no more considers # parking slots available to plan services. CCK getting 2 new services when there is no space + 300 getting converted into G/W. Chaos chaos at interchange.

yeah i know. that's why i put 2 "really". totally agree, this will be fun to watch. hopefully they can cope lol
I give it a few years for CCK Int Extension to be announced.
And where is my Yew Tee/Sungei Kadut Terminal? A number of services including 67,188,190,302 all can start from there.

Lol... forget your Yew Tee terminal... YT hasn't got even one service after being so poorly connected... just 302 and 307 are slogging it out. Actually CCK Way (west side) does not have a service, CCK Dr (central), CCK st 54 have no bus service.
I was hoping 983 would do this job... and that's why it was numbered "983" as a short trunk to BPJ from Yew tee...
As I said, the residents there need to SHOUT louder... and the MP needs to do SOME work.
Also the scope for a new YT service is almost next to ZERO given that CCK interchange is fully packed with these new changes. Unless a miracle happens and they decide to rehaul sv 983.
It is possible. If central route planning is reading, change 983 to
CCK Int > CCK Dr > CCK North 5 > CCK st 54 > CCK North 6 > CCK Dr (YT MRT) > CCK North 7 > CCK Way > CCK Ave 4 > CCK Ave 5 > CCK Ave 6 > CCK Ave 1 > CCK Way > CCK Road > Upper Bukit Timah Rd > Petir Road > Jelubu Road > BPJ Road > CCK road & back following the same route.
SMB3117M onwards should be used for these routes

There are many spare BSEP MANs in KJDEP...

Sometimes during peak, u see buses queueing for lots or getting out of the interchange... The traffic will one day come to a standstill, where buses cannot even move an inch if any joker breakdown in the middle of exiting junction or the turning-to-parking-lot junction... Imagine 30 over buses cannot move out... Hosey boh!
Judging from the number of bus stops 301 and 983 serving. The fleet is 8 or less.
Nothing for YewTee. Yes those ppl in YewTee needs to kpkb more to get their trunk service
Sv925 should remove from CCK Int, pax will board from Lot1 bus stop.
KJE
CCK Way(Bet Blk 306/307)
Lot1 Shoppers' Mall
Northvale Condo
KJE
Or else they should relocate block 303, use that piece of land to extend interchange space + set new entrance/exit. Then Lot1 should relocate it's taxi, carpark entrance(iirc?) and pickup place to CCK Drive(that piece of land behind Lot1). I
The reason for 983 to loop at Keat Hong is because BSEP frequency screw big time
Anyway, hope 983 will change to this :
CCK Int
CCK Ave 4
CCK Ave 3
Brickland Rd
Bukit Batok Rd
Jurong Town Hall
Boon Lay Way
Yuan Ching Rd
Taman Jurong Ter

Yew Tee..I seriously dk what govt will give to them..
Can't believe they'd even bother to classify 983 as a trunk for such a short and duplicating route. (Might as well number it Feeder 303.) Unless LTA intends to extend it down to Bukit Batok or Bukit Panjang in the future, it's just ridiculously useless right now. Especially charging trunk fare when there's alternative feeders (300, 301, for Ave 4 & 5 respectively) around.
Waste of a new service.
They might as well build a new MRT station along Brickland Road, at the edge of the HDB blocks and facing Bukit Batok Rd. A much better way to kickstart the development of an estate rather than to introduce useless feeders / trunks.

Hi mr AJQZC, you may want to read the newspapers info that they have already intended to extend it to bukit panjang in the near future before you comment. Cheers.

Hi mr TIB429E, actually come to think of it, yew tee is not that bad as what others think. First and foremost, they have an almost doorstep MRT station which links them to all parts of Singapore. Mrt is much faster in almost all aspects considering that they are at 1 side of the island. Long distance buses are no longer in the trend nowadays. Cheers.
Well, that doesn't change the fact that it's entirely unnecessary right now, isn't it? So well, yeah. If this is an echo of what everyone just said, then pardon me, but it still reinforces the notion. I'm just venting my frustration out here.

Hi mr AJQZC, yes I totally understand. Though I don't stay in CCK, I am also puzzled initially why the route is so similar for smrt 301 and smrt 983 until I realize they intend to extend smrt 983 to other parts of CCK and bukit panjang once enough developments are able to substantiate it. Cheers.
As a resident in CCK, i feel rather disappointed with the new services (and yes, the rumoured 301 route was right and 983 indeed will be going to Bukit Panjang next time, means the rumours i heard was right afterall). 983 is just following 300G route and then into Ave 5 before going back in the opposite direction. It just reminded me of service 181 and 243G, where the 2 services also have repeats, and 181 will do a loop at JW Ave 3 while 243G will make a bigger loop. In this case, 983 will be like 181, charging distance fare while 300G will be like 243G, charging feeder fare.
I would rather LTA delay the launch of 983 and wait for the BTOs to be ready. I am pretty sure 983's loading will be bad unless passengers have difficulty getting onto 300G. Seriously this act will definitely worsen the congestion at CCK INT. During peak hours and meal hours, there is already a shortage of rigid parking lot in CCK and adding these 2 services will just worsen it.
The link from Blk 277 along CCK way into Ave 3 is also gone with the implementation of 300G and 300W. I know many people will alight at that stop from 188/67 and transfer to 300. Now they either have to walk in, take 301 from blk 352 or from CCK INT...
No routes to YewTee, yet we have 172, 975, 300G, 300W, 301 and 983 all going to Keat Hong area...thats another disappointment. With the congestion in CCK INT after launching 300G, 300W, 301, 983, i doubt there will be any new services from CCK INT..
My guess is that most of the bendies from 300 will be deployed onto 300G while more rigids will be on 300W...
govt standard mah as usual..want to wayang to ppl that they are really doing their work by coming up with all this bullshit svcs.. seriously,i rather the route planning and stuff be left with the PTOs rather than this fucking lta..
I think SMRT will use this opportunity to reduce number of Bendies on 300. The am load from CCK ave 2 can be managed by rigids... And for CCK ave 4 need Bendies... Have to swap buses bet G and W for am/PM.
i think 301 will get 8 buses... 983 might get only 5...
983 loading will depend on whether 300 has called stop or not. Same like Teban services where 143M loading completely depends on whether 143 called stop. If 143 came, 143M goes back totally empty.
This only shows that 79/143 in itself were able to manage the load.
likewise 300G/W and 301 can manage load. 983 without doing BPJ is totally redundant.
