New Bus Services Announced by LTA/PTOs

  BPS1 bus introduction pm also. why still number bps1. can give regular number to service like 981 and have ply uni in am/pm peak. i feel population going so high in bpj area. new bus can intro to cover bps1 and extend to all ring road. only 3 stop now. can better utilize. no?

  981 is already used for the Sembawang-Senoko peak hour service.

  There are already 2 stops between Sengkang East Dr and Punggol Rd, as stated on the poster. Additional bus stops may be added between Punggol Rd and Sengkang Ctrl and "details will be announced closer to implementation".

  Ooh... See wrongly. I think the other bus stop that "will be announced closer to implementation" is the bus stop Bef Sengkang Fire Station & Opp Sengkang Fire Station.

  Next question will be... Which berth will this service occupy? I got a feeling is the 147/74e/74 berth leh... If not is the 325/89e/89 berth

  It does call at the bus stop after Seletar Camp G at the roundabout (where there's 39 towards Yishun, 103 towards Serangoon, 858 towards Woodlands etc).

  Yeah, saw that. Still don't understand though. Are there any turning issues to either of the bus stops? If not, is it to discourage some passengers from transferring to eastbound buses, or vice versa?

  Then again, could be a typo.

  I suppose thats why someone said he/she had a feeling that 85 DD's will be removed. And now there is also somewhat less reasons for 103 to have DD

  Don't think it will affect 27 and 43 that much. Their duplication is at most 2-3 bus stops... And both 27 and 43 serve difficult groups of people compared to 102.

  Agree that 102 is going to take away a lot of pax from 50 and 85. Especially 85. Not only will Sengkang West Way residents prefer to take 102 from Sengkang MRT, but even those going to Yishun from Sengkang West may also start taking 102 to Jalan Kayu roundabout and transfer to 39/103/858.

  Another service that may die soon: 324. Although it finally get okay loading after 1 year of introduction (how time flies), after the introduction of 102, it may immediately get back to square one. Even 62 may be affected as well.

  Hi mr array88, I think the statement sengkang west way residents prefer to take 102 from sengkang mrt is not valid. Currently, Sbs 85 does not stop near sengkang mrt. It is some walking distance away. 

  For the statement 'even those going to yishun from sengkang west may also start taking 102 to Jalan Kayu roundabout and transfer to 39/103/858', I doubt it will be totally true. Nobody in his right sense of mind will forgo a direct bus service Sbs 85 to alternatives for transfer. Sbs 103 to get to yishun mrt is very indirect. Given a choice, Sbs 85 wins unless the passengers need to get to somewhere Sbs 103/smrt 858 brings them where the direct Sbs 85 does not serve. Or else no point to transfer. Cheers thanks.
