Yes the next 3 months (oct, nov, dec) will be interesting to watch. Cheers.

I always thought that if they extended 983 it will be this:
CCK -> CCK Ave 5 -> Bukit Panjang -> KJE -> Yew Tee -> KJE -> Bukit Panjang -> CCK Ave 5 -> CCK
Personally I'm against the idea of looping 983 to Yew Tee via BPJ ... while both CCK Ave 5 and Yew Tee residents get links to BPJ MRT, the demand for trips between this two estates is relatively low, and transfers at CCK MRT are more convenient.
At the same time, Yew Tee residents still get nowhere further out of town other than CCK / BPJ. No routes to other towns for more extensive links. Currently, a trip to nearby Hillview takes at least two transfers, which is very inconvenient.
I would rather 983 do an extension into BPJ interior, via Upp Bt Timah Rd / Petir / Pending / Bangkit / Fajar (somewhat like BPS, and alternative to 920/922/972), and then 177 can extend into Yew Tee. The 177A/B split sections during peak hours can ensure minimal bunching as well.
But in the event that 983 really gets extended this way, then I just hope that LTA has at least made considerations of staggering bus stops around the BPJ MRT area:

- CCK Rd

- Petir Rd [DT1 Bt Panjang]
- Jelebu Rd (non-stop)
- Bt Panjang Rd
- Woodlands Rd
- KJE

Not sure why would you say the demand from YT to BPJ will be low. In fact, I think it will be a huge relief to 302/307. Those wanting to go to DTL, get direct connection. Remember that those who want to use NSL have a MRT at YT. So in fact, I think 983 will be hugely popular not just for DTL but also for transfering to other services such as 67, 176, 190, 700, 960, 963 this will be the quickest option. In fact 983 > 190 will be faster than taking 302 > 190.

- 983 in Dec to BPJ area...
117 might be introduced in Nov or Dec...
All other services mentioned will roll into 2016.
How to explain the huge spam of Citaros in BNDEP a few days (or weeks) ago?

Obviously the purpose of extending 983 to Yew Tee is not for people to take from Yew Tee to CCK Ave 5. It's for people from Yew Tee to Bukit Panjang.
Anyway let's just wait and see the final route for 983.

Nope, you misunderstood me. I meant to say that not many people would travel between Yew Tee and CCK Ave 5 area, so it is still justified to extend another service other than 983 to Yew Tee (such as 177). 983 would then be fine to loop at Bt Panjang.

Actually can introduce a new service 984 to cover all of YT
Bukit Panjang Interchange > BPJ Road > Woodlands RD > KJE > CCK Way (2 stops, 302) > CCK North 5 (2 stops) > CCK st 54 (new stop) > CCK North 6 (1 stop, 307) > YT MRT > CCK North 7 (1 stop) > CCK Crescent (4 stops - opp of route 302) > CCK North 7 (new stop) > CCK Way (new stop) > CCK North 6 (2 new stops, one outside YT Residence, + 1 existing stop w/ sv 307) > CCK st 54 (new stop) > CCK North 5 (2 stops) > CCK Way (2 stops) > KJE > Woodlands Rd > BPJ Road > BPJ Interchange
* No other route can provide better connectivity to BPJ MRT and all of YT town than the one outlined above.
* Can be operated with majority DD fleet
Not the rumors of Service 164 again.

So it's full SD fleet? Lol... Feels like it goes to area with height restrictions (either Haig Rd or Telok Kurau?)
Anyway good service to look forward too, at least not short feeders

Depends on the route. BNDEP does have few BSEP WEG SP + new batch will be registered soon.
By the way have you traveled Haig road? It is extremely narrow and the turn from Geylang Serai is too tight. The part between Dunman and Mountbatten is okay.

I am struggling to understand how the Tampines-Bedok-Marine Parade service will look.
Lets see what we already have today:
10 > Tampines > Simei > Bedok Rd > UEC > EC (parallel road to MP)
12 > Pasir Ris > Tampines Ave 7 / 2 > Simei > Tanah Merah > Bedok South > UEC > EC (parallel road to MP)
14 > Bedok > Tanah Merah > Bedok Rd > UEC > EC (parallel road to MP)
15 > Pasir Ris > Tampines Ave 7 > MRT > Tampines Ave 4/5/1 > Kaki Bukit > Eunos > Siglap > MP
31 > Tampines > Simei > ITE > Tanah Merah > Bedok > MP
48 > Bedok North Depot > Bedok Road > Tanah Merah > UEC > MP
Apart from this you have,
16/32/40/196/197 all doing Bedok to EC or MP
And from Tampines to Bedok you have in different ways,
9/17/18/28/31/38/67/69 almost covering all major avenues between these two towns.
So I feel the new route may be a mere extension of existing route to Marine Parade rather than a new route altogether.
Maybe the new Service 164?

Svc 18 extension?
Or duplicate Svc 15 from Tamp to MP, svc 15 cut back to Eunos, can spam DD on svc 15?

The other option I see is extension of sv 48 to Tampines or Changi Business Park. But 48 does not do Bedok MRT, does Bedok South if that counts.
One more option I can think of:
sv 68: Tampines <> Marine Parade (turns at Tanjong Katong Rd and does lower part of Haig towards Marine Parade, Joo Chiat Rd, Mountbatten road and back)
sv 67: Eunos <> CCK

Saw on 2 occasion traning buses turning out from Bedok South Ave 1 towards Bedok MRT, not sure if it's related, cheers!

Yup, ill be pretty supportive if 229 turns out of Bedok South Ave 1 towards Bedok MRT for direct connection to MRT for those along Bedok South Rd.

No. Service 18 is from Tampines and looping at Bedok with Service 38 and 69

Don't think they will cut back 15 to Eunos... It's better to introduce another DD-friendly service parallel to 15 to ease the crowd on 15.
Not heard of but when Service 164 and 501 will be introduced? Early 2016?

route 18 is best combined with route 7.
also, route 31 can use Haig Rd as there already is route 197 along Tj Katong Rd.
is T Kurau suitable for DD by the way?
I feel there should be a three-way amendment involving routes 13, 55 & 76. Details as follows:
13 - Sims Ave, Tj Katong Rd, Amber Rd, Marine Pde Rd
55 - Marine Pde Rd, Marine Cres, Marine Tce (loop), Marine Pde Rd
76 - Paya Lebar Rd, Sims Ave, Still Rd, Still Rd Sth, Marine Pde Rd, Bedok Sth Ave 1, Upp East Coast Rd, Upp East Coast Ter.
Some trips on route 55 can start from Jln Eunos (Eunos MRT) and loop at Marine Tce.

Residents will not be happy that you're taking away their direct connection from Marine Terrace to Parkway Parade.
Somehow have a feeling service 401 may be touched this time... Possibliy Bedok - MP svc is just daily ops of 401

Amendment of 401, with a weekday / weekend variant (401 / 401M)?
Haig Rd?
