That could happen actually and would make sense... especially to operate 401 from afternoon to late evening for East Coast Park... really don't need it in AM until say 4pm.

Hmm... I agree with you. I would prefer 401 to operate on a daily basis too from 12 - 10pm? or 12 - 11pm? Maybe can extend to the nearest MRT Station (Mountbatten or Kallang)?

i believe if so, there will be some route amendments. then, it probably operates from 0545 - 2300+

It already does Dakota/Mountbatten MRT... But then as per the rumor 401 does not qualify to be the Tampines-Bedok-MP service... so lets see!

May get extended to CBP... we wont know 😂
Might extend Service 7, 62, 81, 82, 97, 103, 106, 111, 147, 165 and 502
Originally posted by BusAnalayzer:In all honesty, unlike LTA press release, Q4 might see following service updates:
- 49 to Jurong East (Lake district service)
- 99 to Joo Koon (Clementi, Jurong West)
- Joo Koon restructuring
- 983 in Dec to BPJ area...
117 might be introduced in Nov or Dec...
All other services mentioned will roll into 2016.
Very soon. Speculations though ...

- BPJ - Yew Tee covered by 983, another service extended, or a new service? Introduced on DTL2 opening day, or later? So far not mentioned in LTA's plans yet
- (Tampines - ) Bedok - Marine Parade service introduced by end-2015, or later?
- CBP Terminal adjustments? (20, 39, 48? New services?)
- New Jurong West / Yishun / Tampines services? (from publictransportsg BSEP page)
Yes. Maybe the return of Service 501?

We are already in Oct. I highly doubt LTA will be able to launch so many services in the next 2 months. Realistically, we might see:
Oct: 117
Nov: 49, 99, JIS
Dec: 983
Changi Business Park Terminal may only open in Q1 2016, and we may see with that a CBP-Bedok-MP service launched, while modification to few other services like 20, 39.
Yishun st 51 will see new feeder service in Q1 2016.
This is what I feel will be the launches up till Q1 2016.

I don't think they will use 401M because the route would need to be significantly modified. The whole East Coast Park Svc Rd stretch is dead during weekedays with the exception of a few eating clusters that come alive in the evening. But that's not a pressing need tbh. 401 can definitely have its operating hours improved - operate Fri evenings and throughout Sat.
It may be a 401 inspired route in that it serves the full stretch of Siglap Rd and connects Fort Rd with Dakota/Mountbatten MRT by //ing svc 30. May also serve Haig Rd up to Dunman Rd. I think the turning at Changi Rd is too narrow for regular bus services.
I agree that 401 can have its ops hrs extended to include Fri and more of Sat/Sun, although it's unlikely to operate on weekdays. Here's my speculation for the upcoming new svcs (based on info on this forum):
102: Hougang - Sengkang - Jln Kayu
117: Punggol - Seletar - Yishun - Sembawang (may be amended in future into Canberra)
new (feeder) svc: Yishun - St 51 (maybe later)
983: Choa Chu Kang - Keat Hong - Bt Panjang
new/amended svc: Bt Panjang - Yew Tee - Choa Chu Kang or Sungei Kadut (latter possible but unlikely)
99: extended from Jurong West - Joo Koon
2-3 "new" JIS, from routes that have been split: Boon Lay - Jurong West - Joo Koon
49: extended from Taman Jurong - Jurong East
new svc: Haig Rd or Telok Kurau (Marine Parade) - Bedok and/or UEC/Bedok - Changi Biz Pk
20: terminate at CBP, loop at Tampines (unlikely to be counted as new route)
new/extended svc (maybe 20?): Tampines - Tampines Concourse/ Ctrl 7
new/extended svcs: Pasir Ris and/or Hougang/Sengkang/Punggol to CBP?

805: Yishun - Street 51 (Loop) (not yet)
983: Extend to Bukit Panjang.
New service: Bukit Panjang - Sungei Kadut (Loop) via Stagmont Ring.
99: Extend to Joo Koon.
Split of JIS services - serve more of the unused roads.
49: Extend to Jurong East.
39: Divert from Tampines, extend to Changi Business Park.
969: Divert into Tampines Concourse.
860: May possibly be extended to loop at Yio Chu Kang (and to serve ITE College Central). Reason being due to people unable to board 7 trains. Divert the loads away better.

How to loop at YCK and also to serve ITE College Central? Hmmm... Maybe yes rumours of the extension of 860 but maybe not to YCK.
Your point is that 7 trains unable to board by people. People meaning students huh? I used to work in Marina Bay and skipped 3 trains only once skipped 5 trains before I can board. Besides there are other alternatives from Yishun Int & Yishun Ave 2 (851, 852, 853). Its only the matter of students can plan their routes proper or not.
It is just my opinion.
I hope that besides 99, there is also a new bus service that connects to Pioneer MRT station, from areas in Jurong West that is nearer to Pioneer MRT station than Boon Lay MRT station - Jurong West Street 71 and 81. I have been writing about it here for six years. I'm sure the people has been waiting for it for six years.
179 sometimes have to wait very long then will come. I complain about it for don't know how many times already. At the bus stop at blk700+, by the time 179 or 241 arrives, usually the buses would be packed; quite hard to board the bus. That is in the weekday morning at around 7:30am.
In the evening, the problem is that the Pioneer MRT station bus stop at blk 651 is located quite a distance from the MRT station. But that one is infrastructure, not transport. Whereas for 179/241, the bus connection is always available and sufficient. :)
Suggestions:
1. The town councils (CCK and WC) should build a sheltered walkway (with new separate pavement, as many people may walk the same route) along Pioneer Road North to connect to Pioneer MRT Station. If possible, build another sheltered walkway along Jurong West Street 81/71/61/63.
2. Provide a new bus connection between Pioneer MRT station and Jurong West Street 71/81 - at least during weekday morning from 6:30am to 8am.
I have written this many times already. I understand some people here may feel sick and tired of reading my rants about 179 and Pioneer MRT Station.
Okay. I shall stop here.

Already Mid-October 2015 is coming and there is still no news of new bus services. Have to keep waiting. Only got 2 car trains fro Sengkang LRT and Punggol LRT. Cheers. Thanks.
Hi. Please give the LTA some time to work on the new bus routes. The new Transport Minister just took over last week. Besides buses, there's trains and taxis to take care. Probably because thanks to the previous transport minister, the bus industry is no longer of priority, that now the priority is on trains and taxis. Please give them some time. They are now working on taxis and trains. Buses will come next. Maybe after a while we will see a pattern (taxi-train-bus)?
Anyway, I guess similar to the next launch of BTO flats, the next announcement on buses may see the launch of a large number of new bus services, where they one-shot launch everything. It's possible. :)
I feel that we may not see new services in October... But there would be big surprises in November and December. Similar to last year when there was nothing in October, before they suddenly bombarded 5 new services (990, 201, 41, 140, 35) in the last 2 months, not counting 17A, 43M and 189 amendment.
We already have rumours or confirmations of 49, 99, 117, 253, 256, 258, 983, Yew Tee service, Bedok - Marine Parade service, Yishun feeder. And who knows what's next. Just wait and see.
49 extended to Jurong East
99 extended to Joo Koon
182, 254, 255 and 257 amended to Joo Koon
509 introduced as Sengkang > Boon Lay
117 introduced as Punggol > Choa Chu Kang (Not sure)
983 extended to Bukit Panjang
