3. In the fourth quarter of this year, residents of Tampines / Simei2 and Marsiling / Woodlands can look forward to the implementation of another two City Direct Services, CDS 664 and 665. Seven more new routes will also be introduced to enhance connectivity in areas such as Bedok, Bukit Panjang, Choa Chu Kang, Jurong East, Jurong West, Marine Parade, Punggol, Sembawang, Tampines and Yishun. it can be interpreted that in the fourth quarter, 7 new routes will be introduced?

Hi mr lemon1974, they also mention the same thing in sept 2015 and repeat the same message this month. Hope they really implement soon. However I believe they will implement some first. Also have the same bad feeling that they always shift the goalposts in regards to the timeframe of actual implementation. Cheers. Thanks.

Find it interesting how 49 and 983 is called a new service... Likewise 99 is not new... just extension... but they consider all extensions (119/103) as new service.

cut and paste from their press release.....
see amended/extended service are count under the new services under BSEP...
new service as if it serve some new previously not serve area... but then later on, when they count again, they will fall short of the 80 service target, because 49/983 are all double entry....
45 new or amended bus services since start of BSEP
2. In September 2015, four new bus services i.e. SBS Transit Service 102 and City Direct Services CDS 661, 662 and 663 were implemented to provide additional connectivity to commuters. These four services bring the total number of new or amended services under the BSEP to 45.

Hi mr lemon1974, when LTA said almost the same thing in sept 2015 press release and repeat it again in Oct 2015 press release, surely they must have done enough preparations and groundwork to release news for the new routes already. 1 month is enough time to announce already if the new route is merely an extension or amendment. Surely this is another way to buy time or another half-hearted attempt to even try to shift the goalposts again? Cheers. Thanks.

Hi mr busanalyser, LTA is technically correct. They say 7 more new routes in the press release. New routes do not necessarily mean totally new services. New routes can be extension of existing services or even amendment of current existing routes. Cheers. Thanks.
Is there by any chance the extended 983 will ply CCK Ave 7 and Keat Hong link via Brickland or CCK Ave 6 > CCK Ave > CCK Way and so to Bukit Panjang? The new Yishun service is rumoured to be a feeder 805 to Yishun st 51 btw.
Is there any chance the LTA will extend Service 502 to Sengkang Bus Interchange Extension?

Hope the bus drivers are already in and beginning to test run the routes already. Cheers. Thanks.
The LTA will allow route duplication with the NEL
The LTA might be having a single route 659:
NTU > Simpang via Tengah
The LTA will extend Service 62, 81, 82, 97, 103, 106, 111 and 502

M variants are not counted as new services.

If 386 can be counted twice, so can 49 & 983.
111 will be extended. 62, 81, 82, 97, 103, 106, 147, 165 and 502 will also be extended
49 extension between Corporation and Jurong East via AYE may not fetch huge number of pax... I think sv 49 DDs won't do good justice to the extension.
Might as well bring back Service 501, 511 and 512

So 49 is Jurong East-Taman Jurong?

Yes, but the Berth is not sure

No, more like Jurong East - Jurong West st 42 (loop). Taman Jurong terminal will be demolished.
All this is speculation based on posts here.
