All this is speculation based on posts here.
No, because 334 uses: Jurong East - Jurong West Street 42 (Loop). More likely Jurong East - Yuan Ching Road (Loop)

Thinking about it, those from Taman Jurong to Jurong East (especially those transfering to buses/NSL) may prefer 49 extension, as there's only 98 (which is winding along Jurong West/East Ave 1) and 178 (which has poor frequency and only plies the outskirts of Taman Jurong). Especially important for Yuan Ching Rd which only has 154.
Additionally, AYE will have workers at those construction areas going to Jurong East... Now there's only 178.
I'm not sure if 49 from Jurong East to Jurong West St 42 will be faster than 334 (most likely it won't), but it may also serve as an alternative to the always crowded 334.

There's nothing wrong in having the same destinations. The old 123 and 275 both started from Bukit Merah and looped at Bukit Purmei Ave. And don't forget the case of 8, 28 and 31, or 7, 14 and 196.

Service 7, 14 and 196 start at Clementi while Service 8, 28 and 31 start at Toa Payoh, right?

The reasons for having similar destinations actually comes from their historical routes...if you get what I mean.
Heard that Service 117, 164 and 501 will be introduced
service 18 should be extended to make more useful.

i don't want to repeat myself, but routes 7 & 18 are most suited for integration.

I will try 49's extended route.
Introduction of Service 253, 256 and 258
which new serv under bsep. i confuse. 258 only. y no 253 256 becoz part of exist route. 99 ext under bsep i think coz new route not part of exist route.
i expect with joo koon there will be new service to tuas south extension as 182 no cover whole tuas south just part of it.

there will be some new industrial services to serve the tuas south industrial zone after the MRT station open... hoping for a cross border bus service to Bukit Indah (malaysia) as well, as there are so many complain about CW3/4/6 buses....

Open House only. 27 Dec then open. but then quite true what you mention.
With regards to the rumour about the extension on bus service 49 to Jurong East Bus Interchange with effect from 15 November 2015, there is still no information from the official sources (The LTA and SBS Transit) to verify that there is really going to be such an extension.
Until there is information from the official sources about it, this is only a rumour.
Do not believe everything you see on the internet.

Come to think of it, is there really a very high possibility that such a poster can be forged in terms of the list of bus stops and route maps?
Announcement of introduction of Service 501, 503 and 505
