actually, one possible solution is to expand the bus bay of Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange to have more parking lots.
currently there is this empty land beside the parking area. maybe can build additional parking lots there. although maybe only around two to three, but at least it's something.

Check the new posters. No bus stop at Keat Hong Close. That's what I mean.

Anyway, the public transport connectivity at Bukit Gombak is okay what... Bukit Gombak is only around half of Bukit Batok. If there is an area in Bukit Gomak that lacks bus connection to Bukit Gombak MRT, it's probably just the area along Bukit Batok West Avenue 2. But then again, isn't there around five bus services there coming from Bukit Batok Bus Interchange area? Isn't there already feeder bus 947?
The point Ajen is making and I agree is that if you put a service from CCK via Bukit Gambok
1. It gives option to overly crowded CCK ave 4/5 access to BGK MRT apart from CCK.
2. BGK MRT is under-utilized while CCK is over-crowded
3. BGK areas such as st 31/32, ave 2, ave 5 not very well connected
I think hor... the best is to let the local Bukit Gombak people in the RCs and CCs do the talking, since after all it's them taking the bus.
go to the market. go to the community centre. that's where the Bukit Gombak community go to frequently. set up booths for people to write on paper what they want. collect the feedback.
discuss with the aunties and uncles at the RCs....
since they stay there, they are in the best position to comment on the bus network in their area.
do they really want bus connection to Bukit Gombak, or are they okay with having the current bus connection already available - to Bukit Batok, Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Panjang?
this one we cannot say for them. they have to say for themselves.

really, it's the same case as Pioneer MRT Station. People staying nearer to Pioneer MRT may not need bus service to Pioneer MRT Station because there's already Boon Lay MRT Station.
Likewise, people staying nearer to Bukit Gombak MRT may not need bus service to Bukit Gombak MRT Station because there's already Bukit Batok MRT Station.
if want talk about Bukit Gombak, talk about Pioneer also. like that then fair mah! #justsaying

If you support every bus to be routed to Pioneer station, then you should support Bukit Gambok concept also #justsaying ;)
Pioneer needs an additional service but going to st 93 and loop via st 91 to provide connectivity to HDBs along Yunan and st 93 and also share load of 241.

Cannot make it since there is also bendy bus lots,Best is new ITHs and for now a new bus terminal somewhere near Keat Hong or Yew Tee areas..Svc like 925 & 927 can ply within the Int and terminate at the Ter.

Bukit Batok still got ample space for two more new svc

Some people might kill me for suggesting this, but ...
Amendment to feeder Service 947:
Skips two pairs of bus stops along BB West Ave 2. Link between BB West Ave 2 and BB Central still provided by 187 and 985.
Other than the barely sufficient parking space at CCK Int, another problem is the limited alighting space, which fits 2-3 rigids or 1 bendy and maybe 1 rigid. Frequently see buses queueing outside the interchange, even during off peak hours. With more new svcs likely in the future, CCK Int may need an expansion, a bigger replacement and/or svcs amended to loop at CCK.
CCK and BBT are still being developed, with new flats being built at CCK Ave 7 and Keat Hong Link for CCK, and at BBT West (near BBT Rd and Millenia Inst) for BBT. These areas will have new bus svcs in future, connecting them to nearby MRT stns. Whether a specific connection is needed between Keat Hong and Bt Gombak/ BBT West would depend on other developments such as schools and hospitals/polyclinics, which warrant connectivity to more areas.

Seems reasonable, but possible problems would be the connection between the BB West Ave 2 bus stops, and Dunearn Sec Sch along BB Rd and BBT Home for the Aged further up BB West Ave 2. The bus stops at BB St 33 and BB West Ave 5 are close enough (~300m) to the original BB West Ave 2 bus stops, which should be walkable for sec sch students. However, visitors to the nursing home may also be elderly with difficulties getting around. Even if there are few commuters who really need this connection, it may be worth preserving.
Personally, I think Bt Gombak MRT may have more svcs in future, connecting it to BBT West (the new flats near BBT Rd and MI), possibly Keat Hong/CCK, and Tengah new town further into the future.

Seems like 301 will be full fleet SD. Hope 983 gets majority DD fleet.
This new service should be good

May be this is all that the people at Bukit Gombak need - an improved bus connection to Bukit Batok Bus Interchange / Bukit Batok MRT Station.
Nonetheless, whether to re-route 947, re-route other route(s) or create a new route, its subjected to the interests and needs of the people staying in Bukit Gombak.

Bukit Batok West that upcoming new residential area will be served by Bukit Batok MRT/Bus Interchange. Maybe majority is by Bukit Batok, then at least some of it by Bukit Gombak.
Whereas for Choa Chu Kang Keat Hong, the Bukit Panjang station on MRT Downtown Line will bring about (significant) relieve to the Choa Chu Kang station on MRT North South Line.
I think the new Bukit Panjang Bus Interchange should be able to host around four new bus services (on top of the eleven existing services). This - along with Bukit Panjang MRT Station - may meet the increase in demand for public transport at Choa Chu Kang, at least for now.
In the long-term, I think a review/study has to be conducted for Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Batok.
Personally, in my opinion, I think a possible solution is to create a new transport hub at the junction of Brickland Road and Bukit Batok Road. A new MRT station and a new Bus Interchange. The road (Brickland Road) is the site constraint, but it should be easy to overcome, by simply going over the road.

I suspect they are waiting for Changi Business Park Terminal and Tampines Interchange extension to be ready to launch new services in east.
Seems that they eventually counted sv 386 as a 'new' service.

If you look at the posters, you'll see that the 'new' bus stops at Keat Hong Close are not indicated. Which means that sv 983 will go express at the 2 bus stops.
Originally posted by TIB 585L:CCK will be extremely congested, i rather 982 start from BPJ enter Teck Whye, CCK and loop at Yew Tee. It can help relieve the load of BPS1 and cater Yew Tee residents to svc like 190 to town
You forget that the number 982 is already used for sv 982E...

No. Its not a new service. LTA just didnt honor its promises in Q1.
Originally posted by BusAnalayzer:No. Its not a new service. LTA just didnt honor its promises in Q1.
In the map of BSEP improvements in Q1 2015, sv 386 is indicated as a "New bus service" with a label "Extension to Punggol East". Whereas in the past, the 'M' varieties and extension of sv 49 (it used BSEP poster template) were put on the map as enhancements or not even mentioned at all.
I think this is because LTA failed to introduce a real "new service" in Punggol, so to cover their failure they put sv 386 as a new service. Which means, sadly, that we won't see new services in Punggol for some time. Maybe most we can see is a new service from Yishun to Punggol via Seletar Airport, since Yishun will get a new service in Q2 2015.

It is SAD if LTA starts doing these kind of lowly acts.
