I am disappointed that they can easily introduce 858M like they do for all other high loading services. And then the M variant could have got bendies/DDs but no.. Instead they keep adding buses

Almost all airport services should have gotten M variants... Especially 36M, can just terminate at the slip road from Siglap Rd to ECP next to the 36/401 bus stop. Often I see 55 and 135 buses parking there, so why can't they build a roadside bus terminal for 36M?
27M can also easily start from Hougang and loop at Tampines Ave 4... If Hougang got no space can start from Sengkang Int or Sengkang Int extension following 53M style. Then there can also be 34M from Punggol to Tampines Ave 7...
I don't know why LTA is wasting resources on supplementary services such as 63M which often gets empty, when services with real demand are not given M variants.

Siglap Rd could have been built a proper terminal with timekeeper and resting area for those service but again they concentrate on expanding Upp East Coast..Duh

I cannot agree more. 36M, 27M, 858M, 34M all make sense and will do wonderful with DDs.

Not that easy for 858M though... Where do u expect it to end/turn back?
The CGA roundabout?

No. 2 options like I said before. Introduce 858 express to CGA. Introduce service 958 from Woodlands terminating at Punggol interchange. Have already proposed this route. that's the best case. If not, 858M looping at Jalan Kayu. We have to consider that 858 is quite unique with its route with few other alternatives for commuters. Hence, if you miss 858 you have to wait for the next one. Since no HC buses, no choice but to add so many buses. Add that Woodlands ave 9, ave 10, Sembawang have new hdbs and industrial blocks opened up in last 1 year.

True, but due to this if 858M is to be intro, it has to run on a seperate fleet and inprovements have to be given to 858 still... Majority of pax comes from CGA, and with the new TPE stop more and more NE airport staff are choosing 858 over the SBST svcs... So it is impt to deal with them too

Sbs6750e at least your suggestion do make sense..Nice one.
so much discussion for changi service. no use. have to do with crowd bus for airport.
Somebody mentioned a SMRT BC saying that there will be bendy buses on 858 tomorrow~~

Might not be all new MAN bendies though IMO..although I genuinely hope this Bendy arrangement succeeds and materialises. Otherwise, there's really no end to the fleet adds they'll add to the CGA services..

Hope so... lets see... but LTA should really find a solution for CGA...

Don't be sad if you don't see one...

False. The BC only said the duty slots, but did not say when.

no worries.. not hoping too much also
Lol
I got doubt over this,If really 858 getting 4 bendy buses then why they need to add 5 more A22 again?Try to compete with svc 27 is it?
Maybe LTA can introduce Bt Panjang to Airport svc via Woodlands towns and straight to TPE,Jln Kayu and back to TPE again?Or better to Airport Cargo Complex.

The problem with CCK its already reach the maximum capacity..Even off peak you will see BCs finding parking lots.
