The MAN A24 initial deployment will be 184 (WLDEP), 300 (KJDEP), 800, 804, 806, 812 and 964 (WPDEP). It will be very easy for 964 to hit WAB; especially they need to get their old bendy buses out as it will spoil and have technical problems, especially those ageing.
184 needs bendies due to the fact that some notable sections is short-distance.
MAN A24s will be for AMDEP if it is 800, 804, 806 and 812. Not sure of other depots get MAN A24s, cos they already take in E500s. From what I know, most of the MAN A24s will be for AMDEP. Hope that 812 will get more of A24s, cos it only have 6 buses altogether.
Timothy, is it true that these services like 184, 300, 800, 804, 806, 811, 812 and 964 get MAN A24s? How u know? Btw Yishun feeder services will be AMDEP controlled, but not sure how AMDEP will control 184, 300 and 964 for MAN A24s, since all MAN A24s will be for AMDEP.

I thought 307 can't use bendy because of narrow Teck Whye Lane? I must be wrong. Anyway, 307 doesn't need that much of bendy.

184 can work with DDs+ bendies if they know how to deploy them correctly. If not become like 154B, Stuck for 5 mins while 2 184 clear up the load at Clementi MRT wich is a waste of DD and cause unnecessary delay
It is a student favourite bus from Clementi MRT and BPJ area to Ngee Ann Poly. Both sides AM peak packed with students. PM peak i think also the same ah since 184 dont passed by residential area so students used this bus as a transfer point.
I hardly see workers on 184 though, students owned the bus

I don't think they will be only for AMDEP... coz they will need to put them on all feedes/intra-towns as needed... CCK/WDL area cannot be controlled by AMDEP
I dont think all will go to Amdep..Majority will be for Wldep..Might be Yishun feeders goes to Wldep.Amdep might get for 169 if SMRT decided to partial control.

1 on 14/01/2015, and the other 15/01/2015..
And this doesn't mean it'll 100% sure a WPDEP controlled bus..
Hmm I don't see any A24s in WPDEP, whether under the white tent (only A22 present) or anywhere else this afternoon. Maybe both sent to Liannex as of today.

I would not give 945 as of now...and 901 already facing long queues problem during peak hours..damn jialat one..

Even if the LTA take over..I seriously wish they consider the fact of buying bendy buses..screw that thinking of the long length etc. when you could save more space by building lesser shopping centre..
169/964(sometimes) have already somewhat proven that most pax. prefer to stay at the lower deck if their journey is short...

I think new policy is correct. Bendies for short-haul feeders/trunks.. otherwise use DDs and SDs... please no bendies in city areas or crowded bus stops.
Got a feeling SMRT orders is 40 follow up by Bsep 60-80 units exclusively for feeders
Yeah townbound buses should stick to DDs. Especially because the busstops in those areas are not built for long buses.
If SMRT is going to deploy the A24 on 964, it kind of defeats the purpose of LTA adding the BSEP E500 to this service. I hope its only a trial. IMO, 964 is better to stick with bendy - its short haul, it passes through areas where there is low traffic, whats the need for DD on this service? LTA should have let SMRT register more E500s and deploy to services like 176, 188, 190, 963, 969 so that they can convert to full DD/SD and then the bendies could be redeployed to feeders.
I hope LTA follows suit and purchases A24s under BSEP. If not they are going to look like a fool when SMRT converts its slots on feeders to A24s and the BSEP sticks to A22s. Or worse still, deploy the balance E500s but i doubt this will happen because most of the SMRT feeders are not DD-friendly I believe
Yeah,860 & 964 better use bendy cause most of the pax take only for a few stops,SBST bo bian cause only practice SD/DD..But if short haul trunks and Feeders were to use bendy then Either PTO should order more A24s probably 120 units..

toatally agreed 964 do not deserve DDs.The workers do not go up to the upper deck except for thoughtful ones

For your information, these MAN A24s will not be driven to Liannex or any other companies for its livery. Instead SMRT will be doing the painting of the new livery by themselves - which explains why you didn't see any A24s parking at WPDEP.
I believe that SMRT doesn't want to alert us bus enthusiasts to leak any pictures about it. Like the previous time when SMB5888H was seen at WPDEP. Some posted on Facebook Bus pages and which forced SMRT to "unofficially" annonuce their new Double Decker bus.
So I'd rather them to hide the bus. If not there will be inconsiderate people who will expose it out forcing SMRT to annonuce it again.

Hehe... Like your disclaimer... shows how petrified we are to post things here... i agree with your point... we can wait for SMRT to officially announce when ready...
I don't think SMRT will announce for production batch.but if they do,it would most likely be new kid on the block, the Man A24 production?

At Kjdep doing spray painting and livery stickers
Haha not sure why but a lot of people tend to visit WPDEP to snap or often snap near the area[the road before it turns out to ave9]...be it dereg buses or ADLs...
