If they tend to buy more A24,Box and MK II bendies have to go fast..Unless Bulim is guaranteed win for SMRT
I think the best for SMRT new bendy buses is to mix with the DD buses for those service that never go to CBD area. It up to LTA planning. Still i think some service might not even need a bigger bus as DTL is comming up

The services that will get affected on account of DTL are primarily 67, 170, 171, 700, 961. I strongly feel 190, 960 and 972 will not be affected much with DTL.
67 also will still have its high loading segment to those going beyond Little India to Tampines.
On SBST side, sv 66 will get affected for sure.
On the other hand, I think loading for sv 920/922 will increase on account of opening of BPJ MRT. I think there might be need to introduce new service between BPJ and Chestnut as well.

Services that will be affected are 65 (the full DD fleet to be eliminated), 67 (all bendies from AMK Depot which is Hispano Habit are to be phased out) and 107 (today's fleet has DD. Sooner you don't need full DD fleet).
For Shaun Ong you don't have to complain, comfortable ride!

I would say it would be best to split sv 67 into two.
sv 67 - Lor 1 Geylang to CCK (ok with majority SDs and 4-5 bendies/DDs)
sv 68 - Tampines to Dhoby Ghaut (loop) (will def need majority DD fleet as loading will continue to be super high between Little India and Tampines on current route as minimal duplication with DTL3)
Considering sv 65/107, still time to get hit as DTL3 opens only 2018. I was referring more in terms of DTL2.
I dont think bus will be affected since our population is growing and growing..The cost of COEs also raise sky high..A lot of ppl depend of PT..cut here and there all take MRT and sardine packed again..There will be amendment though i cant deny but not cut.
some one in the facebook has the picture of the new bus with smrt new painting. behind look like the ribbons flying behind the wheels.
They spot it near Wlbp

Population growth projection is higher than reality. I was looking at the latest analysis (for work) and clearly projections are exagerrated. Even the # of BTO flats for construction will be dwindled down by 40% from this year.
what's up there

Sv 68 operate by SBST most likely. (Just saying)

I agree if they carve out the two services that way - sv 68 should be operated by SBST.

I don't get your logic.
sv 8, sv 28 and sv 31, all three ply from Tampines to Toa Payoh. So?
LTA already hints that there will be no route cutting or shortened for the moment..They will digging their own grave if they cut short vital bus svc..Remember its Lui T Y who proposed and implement higher COEs all classes to encourage ppl take public transport.67 got their catchment almost everywhere..
And who knows if crazy SMRT might get 60 units of Citaro Gs?

sv 68 - Tampines to Dhoby Ghaut no point as there is 65 and also LTA can bring back the old 23 route.

My friend... is sv 65 and sv 68 (current sv 67) route the same? sv 23 should not be touched as there are many pax who board at Jalan Besar to head back on Serangoon Rd / Tampines for this service.
bring back 23 as the bus going to orchard road and loop back this might reduce mrt problem.
