so this is a new bus stop, not a replacement bus stop for the bus stop before it.
I think it is created to provide connections to developments around JTC Summit. In future when Jurong East Bus Interchange moves to the permanent interchange, there may be other bus services calling there.

SMRT will be introducing three new Wheelchair Accessible Bus (WAB) Services - bus services 176, 188 and 990 - to its existing service routes from 22 March 2015. This brings the total number of WAB services to 45.

Basically, every City Direct service will call at the new bus stop 03241 instead of 03222.
