A proposed "Sembawang Interchange" will be built at Sembawang Junction in the near future.Originally posted by tranquilice:Then where will service 167 terminates?
Beside services 79, 192 and 193, what are the other services that loop there?Originally posted by SBS9818A:Yes, same for Sv. 79, a service which I forgot to mention. There is simply not enough space at Boon Lay for buses to park so a few services to Boon Lay actually loop there.
Tibs service 180.Originally posted by tranquilice:Beside services 79, 192 and 193, what are the other services that loop there?
kkekeOriginally posted by Airbus330Captain:Tuas terminal ? Which services goes there ? Jalan Kayu terminal is needed for the camp . Perhaps they can add another direct service from jalan kayu to orchard perhaps ?
Please, I condemn MRT!! Also, taking 167 to Orchard is faster compared to service 171, the only service to Orchard in Yishun/Sembawang/Woodlands area, other than service 167. If you take service 167 in the peak hours, it's very packed. So extending it to Yishun central is not feasible in my point of view.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Just take a train down to Orchard lahz! Much faster than taking Sv. 167, it winds here and there. If you want to go to Thomson, no problem, Sv. 167 will continue along its current route but will be SOMEHOW amended to Yishun, thus avoiding the feeder service at Sembawang estate, however it still will go to Sembawang Rd End to serve the private estate residents and park visitors.
Like service 169?Originally posted by SBS9818A:Just take a train down to Orchard lahz! Much faster than taking Sv. 167, it winds here and there. The load of service 167 is just nice for a 12m bus, so there's no need for O405G.Originally posted by SBS9818A:If it follows its current route and terminates at Yishun, then O405Gs can be used, helping to alleviate the peak hour woes. Now Sembawang Rd End Terminal cannot accomodate O405Gs, if it could we would expect them on Sv. 167 by now.
Huh? What do you mean?Originally posted by tranquilice:Like service 169?
And you're complaining that the bus is packed? If it is diverted to Yishun, however following somewhat Sv. 169's route till Canberra Rd, it can use O405Gs, leading to less packed buses and everyone can travel in comfort.Originally posted by off_service:The load of service 167 is just nice for a 12m bus, so there's no need for O405G.
Do you think they care? Profit margin is more important than passenger comfort to them, IMO, as very little people care to complain.Originally posted by SBS9818A:And you're complaining that the bus is packed? Aren't you mentioning about service 167 amended to pass thru Yishun town before contiuning to Sembawang Rd End? In this case, it's like the route of service 169.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Huh? What do you mean?
A 12m bus on service 167 cannot cope with the demand during peak hours. The bus usually get packed towards Orchard along Sembawang Rd and Upper Thomson Rd.Originally posted by off_service:The load of service 167 is just nice for a 12m bus, so there's no need for O405G.
Actually no. My original plan was up Sembawang Rd, following Sv. 167 route, until Canberra Link, instead of turning left it goes straight down Yishun Ave 2 to the interchange.Originally posted by tranquilice:Aren't you mentioning about service 167 amended to pass thru Yishun town before contiuning to Sembawang Rd End? For me its quite good since i'm using bus stamps, a direct link to Orchard without changing buses or spending 45 cents on the train.Originally posted by tranquilice:Aren't you mentioning about service 167 amended to pass thru Yishun town before contiuning to Sembawang Rd End? But this will be a long U-shaped route, recommended is to follow service 171 route via Yishun Ave 5, but in this case, service 167 has to skip Sembawang.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Actually no. They can develop the bus stop at Sembawang MRT station into a temporary Terminal.Originally posted by tranquilice:But this will be a long U-shaped route, recommended is to follow service 171 route via Yishun Ave 5, but in this case, service 167 has to skip Sembawang.
Maybe LTA can build a roadside terminal along Sembawang Vista?
Where service 981 terminates? No problem.Originally posted by off_service:They can develop the bus stop at Sembawang MRT station into a temporary Terminal.

I feel LTA can build a bus interchange just beside Leisure Park at Kallang . There are ample space there and besides I remember there is an interchange there , the Tibs buses can make use of that lot after the completion of the circle line . Bus 11 can be withdrawn by then .
How about admirity road west ?
Can't 980 be extended to another terminal ? I am not sure about this one .
What do you guys think ?
Since Sembawang is so important for this service, it is better to take the long route to minimize inconvienience for passengers.Originally posted by tranquilice:But this will be a long U-shaped route, recommended is to follow service 171 route via Yishun Ave 5, but in this case, service 167 has to skip Sembawang.

Temporarily, for redevelopment purposes. Expect an air-conditioned bus interchange in 2008 or so.Originally posted by Xiao Long Nu:heard tat bedok interchange gona move to tanah merah? pls dn move
Really? Bedok interchange is to be relocated to beside Tanah Merah MRT station?Originally posted by SBS9818A:Temporarily, for redevelopment purposes. Expect an air-conditioned bus interchange in 2008 or so.
