You mean PTC. Unlikely because the three main players(SBST,TIBS,SMRT) work together as a cartel. Clementi Int will most likely move as a whole, Sv. 147 may be cut, however.Originally posted by Airbus330Captain:Agreed , maybe some services can be extended to jurong east and buona vista , If LTA allows , perhaps some sbs services in bukit batok ?
Blks 311 to 314 at Clementi Ave 6 are under en-bloc.. and the other 2 blocks have been demolished.. so i think there's empty land? there isn't any more news about the new shopping centre and interchange for a long timeOriginally posted by SBS9818A:Clementi Int will also move, however there is no candidate currently for the new interchange, Clementi is so densely built up.
Originally posted by tranquilice:You mean Sv. 56 will terminate inside Suntec City, like current Sv. 162X, Sv. 70X and Sv. 133, and not to mention Sv. 700A and Svo 857? A better route would be turn left from Temasek Boulevard following the Sv. 56 route from bus interchange, however passengers going to Marina Center will be inconvienienced.
My suggestions to the affected services for closure of Lorong 1 Geylang and Sims Place terminals:
Lor 1 Geylang terminal:
Service 11 will be amendedMarina Centre terminal - Boon Keng station (loop) via Raffles Ave, Nicoll Highway, thereafter follow present route to Lor 1 Geylang, continue via Boon Keng Rd, Serangoon Rd, Whampoa West, Bendemeer Rd and return. The amended route will provide a link between Stadium area and Marina Centre, and stadium area to EWL (Kallang) and NEL (Boon Keng) stations.
Service 853 will terminates at Upper East Coast terminal daily.
Service 961 will be amendedWoodlands Regional interchange - Marina Centre terminal. The route will be the one on Sundays and Public Holidays from Woodlands to Marina Centre, and thereafter terminating at the terminal. In order to maintain the link between Beach Rd and Chinatown, TransitLink will amend service 82 to terminate at New Bridge Rd terminal, by following service 961 route from Beach Rd to New Bridge Rd.
Service 980 will be amendedAdmiralty Rd West terminal - Marina Centre terminal. The route between Admiralty Rd West and Middle Rd will remains unchanged, thereafter via Beach Rd and Raffles Boulevard. Affected passengers between Beach Rd and Lor 1 Geylang terminal can transfer to service 100.
Service 56 will be amended to loop in Marina Centre, via Temasek Boulevard, Temasek Ave and Raffles Ave, it will no longer terminates at Marina Centre terminal. This is to provide enough parking lots for the additional 3 services there.

I think he's referring the turn into the bus stop outside Suntec City.Originally posted by tranquilice:Yes, the amended service 56 will be following the route of services 70X, 133, 162X, 501X, 700X and 857 in Marina Centre.
Can you explain correctly the last part of your sentence. I don't get what you mean by turn left from Temasek Blvd. Turn left into where?
Sorry sorry, what I meant is the amended Sv. 56 would turn left from Temasek Avenue into Raffles Boulevard, then following the old Sv. 56 route past the interchange. Alternatively it could go along Raffles Boulevard like the current Sv. 56, only amendment is it could turn right to Temasek Ave or pass the bus terminal to make a loop.Originally posted by tranquilice:Yes, the amended service 56 will be following the route of services 70X, 133, 162X, 501X, 700X and 857 in Marina Centre.

Sv. 195 current route is from Marina Center to Depot Rd, it is a loop service, and it's only terminating point is at Marina Center, so it CANNOT be amended to loop there as then it would have no terminating point.Originally posted by Zilchster:What about Svc 195 that terminates at Marina Centre?
Yes, there are many possibilities. I think that the amended service 56 will most probably follow the route of services 133, 857, 700A etc, so passengers won't be too confused.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Sorry sorry, what I meant is the amended Sv. 56 would turn left from Temasek Avenue into Raffles Boulevard, then following the old Sv. 56 route past the interchange. Yes of course, however to have all SBST services loop Marina Center would mean that the terminal is exclusively TIBS. Sv. 77 can be amended to loop, so can Sv. 960, there are many avenues of amendments that can be made at Marina Center.Originally posted by tranquilice:Do you actually mean "from Marina Centre to Commonwealth Dr"?
Service 195 can be amendedBuona Vista terminal - Marina Centre (loop), however the service has to skip Commonwealth Dr.
Yes, it's possible to build a new interchange there, since the area there is going to be developed into a tourist attraction with the Singapore Flyer.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Yes of course, however to have all SBST services loop Marina Center would mean that the terminal is exclusively TIBS. Another possibility is building a new Marina Center Bus Interchange along Republic Ave near the junction with Republic Boulevard, so that the new interchange can accomodate all the services currently terminating Marina Center together with the possible amendments.
The new ferris wheel will be more towards the side of Benjamin Sheares Bridge, to attract tourists a bus interchange must be built as the walking distance from City Hall or the upcoming Millenia station is too great in the weather.Originally posted by tranquilice:Yes, it's possible to build a new interchange there, since the area there is going to be developed into a tourist attraction with the Singapore Flyer.
Agreed, a bus interchange is definitely needed there.Originally posted by SBS9818A:The new ferris wheel will be more towards the side of Benjamin Sheares Bridge, to attract tourists a bus interchange must be built as the walking distance from City Hall or the upcoming Millenia station is too great in the weather.
Yes, maybe Eunos interchange or Upper East Coast. The latter is very underutilized.Originally posted by xin1jun2:Service 961 will be amended Woodlands Regional interchange - Marina Centre terminal. this is not possible as 961 provides the boon keng dudes with the links of svc 5 when it was withdrawn last time. 961 now runs svc 5 route after beach rd.
at most 961 should end up at upp east coast er too or Eunos int.

Service 107 somehow can "replace" service 961 route between Beach Rd and Kallang Bahru.Originally posted by xin1jun2:this is not possible as 961 provides the boon keng dudes with the links of svc 5 when it was withdrawn last time. 961 now runs svc 5 route after beach rd.

The current fare stages of service 961 between Woodlands and Lor 1 Geylang is 40. Terminating at Upp East Coast will mean the fare stages will exceed 50.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Yes, maybe Eunos interchange or Upper East Coast. The latter is very underutilized.
I believe there currently are services with 50 and above fare stages(loop services that are trunk). It wouldn't be a problem. Unless it was amended to Marina Center's proposed bus interchange and a new service created to cover the deleted sectors terminating at let's say, Bedok or Tampines.Originally posted by tranquilice:The current fare stages of service 961 between Woodlands and Lor 1 Geylang is 40. Bus companies are restricted to the number of services above a certain milage. Even if we find it feasible, the bus companies would not implement it as it's too long.Originally posted by SBS9818A:I believe there currently are services with 50 and above fare stages(loop services that are trunk).
