Originally posted by BusAnalayzer:JW Ave 5 deserves another pair of bus stops at blk 726 (99, 185, 242) and blk 811 (185 only). The distance between the stops (Gek Poh Shopping Center and Blk 715) is huge and a long walk for residents.
Dear Sir BusAnalayzer,
On behalf of the people of Gek Poh Village, it is my great honour to receive the recommendation you offered to improve the bus connections here in Gek Poh Village.
Thank you for the strong interest you have on Gek Poh Village. It is very nice of you to specially take the time and effort to analyse the bus connections here in Gek Poh Village. I am sure my people would be glad to hear the benevolent advice of yours.
While it is true that the bus stops in Gek Poh Village are spaced far apart, you may like to know that our bus stops are installed at locations with consideration on the approximate walking distance from every household in Gek Poh Village.
Here, every residential apartment is within four hundred metres from a bus stop. The people living near Gek Poh Shopping Centre are within walking distance to the mall, while those living further away can use bus service 185 to get there.
Sadly, I do not see the point in having a new pair of bus stop in front of blocks 726 and 811, for the reason I have stated above. I humbly apologise for that. After all, it was for the betterment of my people that you gave us this valuable feedback. Please do not be dismayed by the rejection. I look forward to hearing more from you.
Yours Sincerely,
gekpohboy

How is it a hassle for BCs if there is one additional stop?

We were just chatting up on 983. Soon there will be another announcement for ave 6 bus stop towards CCK.
From Sunday, 24 April 2016, the routes of Services 5, 15, 58, 59, 87 and 585 will be amended due to re-opening of a section of Kaki Bukit Avenue 1. Bus Stops along Jalan Damai will be removed while those along Jalan Tenaga will be relocated to Kaki Bukit Avenue 1.
All services will save around 8-10 mins runtime. This could mean improvement in frequency or fleet cut. I think for 5, 15, 58, 59 it would be improvement in frequency. 87 may get one fleet cut given that it has peak frequency of 05-07 mins.

SBST should cut 1 SD from 87.

Can even cut a DD given its frequent bunchings.

Yes can start with 1 SD first... if needed cut 1 more SD. 87 deserves to be full fleet DD. PM DDs back to back can each have 80 pax.

I think don't cut buses lah. Now sv 87 DDs now can get 80-90 pax during AM peak. If you cut 2 SDs, DDs will be packed to the door liao. SDs are meant to clear heavy crowds and that's why you still se SDs on svcs like 74 and 147. If you want upgrade SD > DD, that would be a different story.
I dont think you understand what we are talking about.
With the amendment of route to ply Kaki Bukit Ave 1, sv 87 will save in total 08-10 mins of its runtime, and save on 2 traffic lights.
sv 87 frequency is 05-07 mins, so easily can cut 1 bus, yet frequency will remain same or better.

the official time between the two places, is only 4mins... and no bus will be cut after the amendment..
Due to the re-opening of Kaki Bukit Avenue 1, City Direct bus service 658 will call at Block 660A bus stop instead of at the bus stop opposite Block 668, with effect from 25 April 2016 (Monday).

Long walk for some of the hDBs along Jalan Damai with no service now.
LTA should maybe consider new service going to Kaki Bukit North / Bartley road east to ply these roads that don't have any service now with the modification.

The roads are only meant for a temporary route throughout the DTL3 construction...

I dont mind a service loop there but again for so long Jln Damai residents have access to both Kaki Bt and Bedok Reservoir.Introduce so much service just for a portion of small route will lead to more wastage and resources.
Bus stop outside future Parc Life EC demolished to make way for Sky Park EC final construction works. Meanwhile, the old orange-top bus stop is reused as a temporary bus stop till August (btw it used to be the bus stop for B42 along Upp Bukit Timah Rd)
