Hi Mr dupdup77, why so quick to pass judgement? This may look like a gimmick but Ez-Link and Co. also not spending your money for this, why worry?
Orchard Rd is good because the tourists may find it useful to check their Ez-Link balances before boarding the buses. Of course it may be more useful when integrated with other functions like topping up the Ez-Link wallet or providing fare estimates/directions to other tourist hotspots. Cheers.

Hi mr orange28, you have also said it yourself in your sentence 'of course it may be more useful when integrated with other functions like topping up the Ez-link.' I find it useless and waste of money if only can check value. Check at one place and go to another place to top up??? Cheers. Thanks.
While it is useful, I agree that top up is a basic feature they should have included. Just checking the amount is not enough.

Well, checking Ez-Link value counts as a use, so not entirely useless. This function is relatively simple to implement because you only need a NFC reader, though if you were to add a top-up function then you'll need quite a bit more infrastructure, e.g how to accept payments etc. Therefore perhaps it's the limitations of the current infrastructure. Cheers.
The two bus stops at Yishun ring road @ Blk 504C and Opp Blk 672C are separated by 098m (<100m).
Does that even make sense? Would have been better if the stop at Opp Blk 672C is shifted further to Blk 502C for Palm Breeze HDB.

Too many bus stops built too near at the inconvenience of BCs and other road users hence promoting lazy commuters..

i wonder if there is a need to have 1 pair of bus stops minimum for every single BTO project?

convenience sake?
then remove the 504C stop, leave the 672C stop as it is.

Can keep two stops, but distance of <100m is crazy. They should shift 672C to 502 that way at least 200-250m gap between 2 bus stops.

Hi mr SMB145B, ideally every bus stop should be 400-500 metres away from another. This is the standard. Human being natural tendency for walking range is 1 bus stop length 500 metres length. Planners term a standard walking distance when they plan amenities and facilities from a HDB flat as a bus stop length 500 metres. Anything more will be considered out of walking distance range. Cheers. Thanks.
HDB neighbourhood between 400-450m
Private residential areas between 450-550m
Busy places between 400m
Not busy 450-600m..

True and that's why the bus stops along Yishun Ring Road are v strange. 2 bus stops within 100m.
The only logical reasoning I can see that maybe one bus stop would have around 30-40 pax waiting for bus, so they rather split it into two stops, so that when two svc 860 buses come, which is very normal, one stops at blk 504c and the other opp blk 672C.

That doesn't quite make sense either, because bus stop staggering is for different bus services and 860 as a single service is currently arranged to ply both bus stops. Even if two incoming buses stagger, there'd be alighting passengers that would be affected. Unless this arrangement starts a new precedent?
Saw two new bus stops yesterday just before the bridge near Punggol East End for the new feeder.

Hi mr seveneighteightsix, the 2 bus stops are there for more than 2 months already. Cheers. Thanks.
The bus stop "Aft Ottawa Rd" has been renamed to "Mjd Naval Base", when the name is a building itself demolished in 2004!
The bus tracker could do really good work that can tracking real-time. This is how convenience for people to caught bus on commuting.
An additional bus stop along Ubi Ave 2 for services 8, 22, 61, 65, 66. Both SMRT and SBST have put posters at the Harboufront bus stop.
