a tempory bus stop spotted built near the junction of bt panjang road and upper bt timah road. looks like some services will be diverted there from the bus stop at block 174
Originally posted by AJQZC:DT1 Bt Panjang: Exits on both sides of Upp Bt Timah Rd. Pair of bus stops fully upgraded and operational, though road works are still going on.
DT2 Cashew: Exit on road's east side only. Southbound bus stop still upgrading. No bus stop directly opposite, and considerable distance to the nearest stop (43091), without sheltered walkway.
DT3 Hillview: Exits on both sides of UBT Rd. Southbound bus stop upgraded, and 176/963/970 do not stop there. The exit on the west side does not seem to connect to a bus stop (to be confirmed).
DT4 Hume: Road works. Not sure if they are actually building the station, preparing for its construction, or otherwise. Bus stops not affected.
Some minor observances from DTL2 open house today:
DT1 Bt Panjang: List of bus services to other MRT stations (hereby known as "Buslist") somewhat incomplete, as 176/178 to BB, 176 to JE not listed. Buslist also doesn't include nearby stops along Bt Panjang Rd & Petir Rd.
DT3 Hillview: Northbound bus stop on west side of Upp Bt Timah Rd is still not ready. Based on Buslist, 176/963/970 may not be stopping at this stop. Buslist also doesn't include nearby stops along Hillview Rd.
DT5 Beauty World: Numbered bus stops are (1) (42091, Upp Bt Timah Rd), (3) (42151, Jln Jurong Kechil) and (4) (42109, Jln Anak Bukit). (1) & (4) are designated stops for train disruptions. Supposed new bus stop (2) directly opposite (1) is built but not ready yet.
Bus stops 42159 and 42259 along Jln Jurong Kechil are not included in Buslist, even though both are considerably nearer to the station exits than (4).
** Note that a right turn from Upp Bt Timah Rd (42119) to Beauty World Plaza is under construction.
DT6 King Albert Park: New bus stop along Dunearn Rd (42069) is not ready yet.
DT10 Stevens: Only exit along Bt Timah Rd. Passage to Dunearn Rd bus stop relies solely on unsheltered pedestrian crossing (traffic lights) at the junction, as there are no overhead bridges or underpasses built.

When I was at Beauty World, I saw the bus stop. So how would the bus go to that bus stop?

So far, only 173 amended to serve the new bus stop (2) (42099) just outside Beauty World plaza. The rest still serve bus stop (4) (42109).
Anyway, having 13 bus stops along the four roads outside BPJ MRT is really confusing, let's hope they will remove the added temporary bus stops and revert back to ≤8 stops when BPJ ITH eventually opens in 2017.

Hi mr TIB987K, with this latest move, sbs 20 is not likely to be converted to start from changi business park terminal anymore. It will stay on as a tampines-changi business park looping service. Cheers. Thanks.

Hmm. They say stopping outside Changi City Point, does that mean that the express sector will be re-routed and the bus will travel via Somapah Road instead of passing around the front (north side) of Expo? Currently that is not possible as Changi South Ave 1 and Expo Dr junction is closed for DTL construction.

Opp Changi City Point not just called Expo MRT?

Very possible. Last I walked outside SUTD in late November, and there are road markings of a planned pair of bus stops being built at Somapah Rd.

Hi mr CB2883J, I don't think so. Maybe in future. Should only be a pair of additional bus stops for sbs 20 to go in and out again. Correct me if I am wrong. Cheers. Thanks.

In future possible. but for now, that means 20 from Tampines will still "siam" around expo and come into changi sth ave 1 eastbound, then proceed straight to ccp, then u-turn around and then turn left at ave 2 to loop? (Whereas it used to, when coming from tampines, just stop then turn right on Ave 2)

If the bus stop is along Changi South Ave 1 and opposite Changi City Point, then it is outside Expo MRT. But the position in question is along Changi South Ave 2.

u are right, i didn't notice is ave 2 and not ave 1, so my theory abt ave 1 and ave 2 is wrong.
but wouldnt it actually be easier the way i suggested... lol, bus 20 on changi sth ave 1 dont immediately turn right, go forward stop @ expo mrt first then u-turn and then turn left onto ave 2. Then can go to ccp easier

Haha, I didn't notice earlier. Changi South Avenue 2.

It's not the bus stop outside Expo MRT. Take note the new bus stops are along Changi South Ave 2, not Ave 1.
Having said that, it is verry likely that the express sector will be modified in the future.

Hi mr SBS3975T, currently come inside changi south ave 1 then stop at bus stop opposite yusen logistics. Turn right move on to changi south Ave 2 stop at DBS Asia hub. Now stop at 1 new bus stop before DBS Asia hub. That stop is changi city point which has a new bus stop. Since this stop is created for sbs 118 new service, it may as well stop for sbs 20 as sbs 20 also goes pass this stop. As simple as that. LTA policy is always the same. If a bus bypasses that road and the bus stop is present, the bus service must go to that stop. Cheers. Thanks.
