Hopefully 979M doesn't count.
979M sooner or later will have to..
LTA trial with mid/long distance that duplicate with DTL2 first.

That is a definite given. My point was that it would be good if its withdrawal is not counted as part of the two services hgdep103 mentioned.
171's likely getting the blade this time.
My guess is, if it ends up following 178's route (and terminate at BB), then 178 would probably be withdrawn or cut at Kranji/WTC. Unlikely that it will be merged with 41 or 983.
Alternatively 67 could end up being split ... but rather unlikely as (un)mentioned in the thread conversation so far.

Hi mr AJQZC, I think 171 will be truncated to stop at either bukit panjang or just loop at Jalan anak bukit and back.
On the other hand, I will want to see if LTA will be bold enough to terminate a trunk service just like this. I cannot recall that they have done something that drastic in recent years. Minor amendments happen all the time, cut-back of long routes seldom have. Terminate/removal of service don't think so. Anyway we shall wait for that day. Cheers. Thanks.
very simple. just camp at a bus stop outside a DTL station. see which bus service consistently have poor loading. that's the one that will be withdrawn.
long routes like 66, 67 and 852 better don't cut...
actually, 174 can be shortened...
171 loadings has dropped along Bt Timah towards MCT ever since DTL open..So im not suprised if the svc get shortened to BPJ..Thats where the loadings is..
Don't think 979M will get withdrawn. PM peak can easily get 10 pax (for now)
Anyways the route that 979 was actually supposed to pile (stagmont ring) i still don't see any road expansion being constructed wth

10 pax? Nothing to be proud of. Freq 30 mins, shuttle svc ah?
only crowd is during peak hours (AM peak especially), and if it appears before 979. Usually they will couple together so if u see it has good loading during other times of the day, likely it came before 979.. other than that it always have less than 10 pax...
During school days also 979M quite utilised.. Saw few cases where 979M helps clear half the crowd at Blk 765 sometimes during dismissal time if it comes bfr 307Originally posted by SMB42P:only crowd is during peak hours (AM peak especially), and if it appears before 979. Possibly 971E withdrawn and 171 cut

971e cannot touch,peak hour express svc..171 definitely

That would be too duplicative of 972. Also the fast link between BPJ MRT and Petir Rd would be lost. Unless a new/amended service covers this area (960? Best not a feeder-like service such as 921), 700 cannot be withdrawn yet.
171 and 180 can merge? withdraw 180 and extend 171 till Boon Lay .
instead of cutting short till BPJ.
Yishun bound - > from Bt Batok Rd, CCK Rd, Upper Bt Timah Rd[non-stop], Petir Rd (stop at BP LRT Stn bustop) back to the same route.
Boon Lay bound -> from Petir Rd, Jelebu Rd, BP Road, Upper Bt Timah Rd[stop at BP MRT Stn bustop], Petir Rd[non stop], Jelebu Rd [non stop] , BP Road [non stop] , CCK Rd back to the same route to cater those who lazy to walk to Bkt Panjang Rd.

Gd idea, but 171 Yishun to Bukt Pnjng is 16km and 180 Bukt Pnjng to Boon Lay is 11km. If combine, it would be 27km, whch is too long. Sorry.

I dun noe the loadng, but I dun think got ppl use 174 for connection btw Jln Jurng Kechl & New Brdge Rd. Tats why I recommnd shortening it.
Lta cannot affordto pay for the above mentioned that lta suggest also cannot afford to provide
Quite likely 979M withdrw, cuz thy gt say 979M withdrw when Stagmnt Ring is ready. The one cut I guess is 302, cuz 979 tke ovr the load alr.
