What? Just Alexander Dennis Enviro500 MMC Bus can already

Hello, please go back and do your comprehension homework. Thanks.
SMB3610E spotted in Amdep,Either 3611 or 3612 might follow suit.851,854 & 857 no more BSEP slots for the service respectively which leave only 855(2 BSEP) and 860.
I hope all these 3 can go AMDEP. Maybe can deploy 3 DDs for 860 for a start later on. 851 can use MAN A95s straight away.

Hopefully,By the way did you hear anything about 860 extension in future?

Yeah for a start 860 fleet will be 11 A22s and 3 E500s.For 851 would be better
if the fleets consists of 10 OC500LE,5 A95,4 E500,5 A22 and 2 Citaro.
Originally posted by carbikebus:Hopefully,By the way did you hear anything about 860 extension in future?
Nope. Haven't heard of 860 extension yet. And yes, its also good if 851 can BSEP slots and get 3 BSEP DDs, if not can deploy 860. Btw I am looking forward to ride on board MAN A95 since I have not experienced on board MAN A95, thats why I am looking forward for 851 to have A95s, hahaha
I am vouching for 860 to get 3 DDs in Oct... though the current fleet of 16 buses is managing the load quite well. I think can cut back 2 buses, and deploy 3 DDs instead. Fleet size of 14 buses good enough.

Yes. Furthermore I have quite repeatedly feedback to SMRT for 860 to have DDs.

Which area do you think 860 can be extended beside Yishun?Looping at Sembawang Rd?

What has their reply been, based on that I can let you know... I have kind of seen a pattern in their replies... when the answer is NO and when it is YES.

About my feedback last time regarding Amdep taking DDs it happen to be yes..
Is it a bit crazy to extend 860 all the way to CBD...?

I think 860 will get extended only in 2017/2018.
Sembawang Interchange >> Sembawang Dr >> Sembawang Way >> Canberra Link >> Canberra Walk >> Canberra St >> Canberra Way >> Yishun Ave 2 >> Yishun Central >> Yishun Ave 9 >> Yishun Ring Road >> Yishun Ave 3 >> Sembawang Rd >> Springleaf MRT >> Springleaf Rd >> Nee Soon Rd >> Sembawang Rd & back...
* New extension will connect Canberra New Town to Sembawang, Canberra, Yishun MRT
* New extension will connect Ring Road to Springleaf MRT (TSL)
* New looping point will connect new development along Springleaf road/Nee Soon road to Khatib MRT (NSL)
* 860A will continue to be required between Ring road & Khatib MRT

Won't happen... If it ever happens it will be 850E getting more slots... or converting to full day in due course... but now with the route getting cut... route will still need to be modified to cover more of Yishun new town.

I wonder if the extension is visible... Coz the loading already picks up from Yishun Ring Road (Blk 419 Bus Stop) till my bus stop (Blk 858). Load alight at Khatib MRT and then new load at Khatib MRT...
The next load aft Khatib MRT would be from Yishun Ring Rd (Blk 624 Bus Stop)...
Extending to Springleaf doesnt make it useful but making the waiting time for the bus longer. Just my opinion... Also sometimes I take 860 to Temp YI, along Yishun Ring Rd, passengers tend to take 860 more than 804...
Maybe Yes, there should be DDs on this service but maybe No extension to Springleaf...
Maybe suggestion route would be somehow your route with a bit of tweaking:
Sembawang Int - Sembawang Vista - Canberra Rd - Sembawang Rd - Yishun Ave 5 - Yishun Ctrl - Yishun Ave 9 - Yishun Ring Rd - Yishun Ave 3 - back route to Sembawang Int

The Springleaf one might happen way into the future for TSL direct connectivity.
If 860 has to be extended northwards should be via Canberra new town... No value extending it via Sembawang road which already has a huge number of services plying..
Any extension will have to keep in mind that sv 860 operates at a frequency of 03-05 mins, so if it is extended the extended part of the route also needs to be worthwhile for a 05 min frequency (considering 860A together with 860 will make frequency around 03 mins at ring road). I think Canberra new town if has only 860 will do well with DDs at a frequency of 05-07 mins.
Again my reply was to carbikebus who asked for the possibilities for 860 extension. This is what I see but not in immediate future. Earliest would be Q3 2017... 2 years from now.

That's the sad truth of not having services to cross between Sembawang Rd & Yishun Ave 2 / Lentor Ave.
Perhaps we could use a less-crowded trunk to route over to Springleaf, such as 852/853/855, instead of having to squeeze all the demand onto 860? Alternatively, extend a service from YCK?

TEL Springleaf will only open in 2020 and TEL at that time will only connect to CCL at Caldecott. TEL to Gardens By the Bay will only open in 2021. Still a long way to go.

IMO 859 is the best choice to loop @ Ring road... need not terminate at Yishun interchange.
Springleaf is still many years away, things may evolve by then. Too early to speculate anything currently.
Canberra is still round the corner with fresh developments and new MRT. I do see value for 860 to get extended to Sembawang via Canberra. The HDBs there will need direct connectivity to Yishun / Sembawang amenities as Canberra won't be a self sufficient new town in itself, while it will be considerably a large one when complete in 2019.

Who knows, 860 will be extended to loop at the upcoming Canberra estate? 😀 Looking forward to see 860 getting DDs soon.

yes my friend, let's hope DDs are deployed soon on 860.
If you go to think of it, they have 3 DDs spare.. but have only 3 options...
1. Upgrade 2 BSEP SDs on 855 (this doesn't seem to be happening, as the DDs would have already been deployed on 855 by now)
2. Swap BSEP DD slots with WPDEP for 857 (yes, then no hope for 860, but I don't see the need)
3. Introduce DDs on 860 (most required and plausible option to give 3 DDs to 860 to start with).
Even a shorter route like 983 in SMRT territory has done brilliantly well with DDs (apart from whatever the bendy fans said)... so 860 should also be a good candidate.

SMB3612A stays at WLBP... Not sure for SMB3611C...

Yes. Lets wait. Since AMDEP can take in DDs then there is no excuse for not deploying DDs on 860

SMB3612A under WPDEP. (If I am not wrong)
