Actually it may make more sense to just terminate it at LCK Terminal... Don't think there's a strong need for LCK- Boon Lay
Originally posted by array88:Actually it may make more sense to just terminate it at LCK Terminal... Don't think there's a strong need for LCK- Boon Lay
Will probably need to make the turning at LCK terminal quite a bit wider to prevent jamming if two services terminate there instead of just one. Layover will either have to be shorter or space for parking increased. Doubt that'll be quite feasible.
Perhaps what could be done is a short layover at LCK Terminal before continuing on to Boon Lay. Could be done with directional plates.

Actually you could just extend 925C's route and operating hours, make use of an existing service. The Yew Tee section could well be served by other high-frequency services.
Should some airport services terminate at PTB2 instead of looping there? To reduce bunching

SBST shud just make break and tapping card at ptb2 mandatory
tapping card and forcing bc to break is a good way to control

I remember they have that before. All bus captains will tap card and take a break. But then also bunching will happen. IIRC, Svc 27 will always bunch.

Also, it should stop at Toa Payoh Lor 6 so that passengers can take either 108 or 142 to Potong Pasir. Have it end at HGDEP or Sengkang (Potong Pasir sector will have red/white plates for both directions).

If LTA really wants to push for a Tampines - Bedok - MP service....
Service 44: Tampines - Fort Rd (Loop)
I'm tired of typing the routes here so I'll use google maps instead:
https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zvASY1AjT64M.klziubV0GwAM
(Note: This service will ply Jln Damai, Kaki Bukit Ave 1 and Jln Tenaga near Kaki Bukit MRT, but somehow I cannot draw it on Google Maps)
- This is the only way I can find a Tampines-Bedok-MP service useful.
- New service for: Tampines St 12 (unidirectional), Bedok North St 2 (with connection to/from Tanah Merah and Bedok North MRT) and Meyer Rd (with connection to/from Eunos MRT, from Katong Park MRT and to Amber MRT)
- Direct connection from ITE College East to Simei and Tanah Merah MRT, Tampines East, Simei, Bedok North, Bedok Reservoir, relieving load on 31
- Connection from Bedok North MRT to Bedok North Rd and Fengshan, which will be crucial after DTL3 opens but has no service today (except 60/87 which only serves 1 bus stop)
- Connection from Bedok Reservoir to Bedok North (not duplicative with 66 as they serve different areas), Bedok North MRT (only svc 60 today), Kaki Bukit MRT (no service today) and Marine Parade (no service today except 15 at Kaki Bukit Ave 1)
- Connection from a section of Mountbatten Rd to Katong Park MRT
Cons:
- Long and winding loop service
- Duplicates 15 and 20
- Not sure if Meyer Rd can use DDs
A rather random suggestion.

(... and loop back to Joo Koon Int)
- Faster connection from Boon Lay, Jurong West and Boon Lay Gardens to Choa Chu Kang, ITE College West and Bukit Panjang, supplementing 172 and 180
- Cover 257's route from Joo Koon to Boon Lay, covering the Jln Ahmad Ibrahim sector and missing link from Pioneer MRT to Jurong West St 62 which will be lost after 257 is shortened to Joo Koon
- Improved connection for Boon Lay Gardens (especially Boon Lay Dr which only has unidirectional 246 with terrible frequency) and Boon Lay shopping centre; serves like a Townlink service from Jurong West to Boon Lay Gardens (if needed)
- Supplements 975 from Choa Chu Kang MRT to CCK Ave 3
- To be amended to Bukit Panjang ITH after its completion
Cons:
- Some duplication with 975
- The sector from Joo Koon to Boon Lay seems redundant
- Does not call at Boon Lay Int, hence people may still prefer 172/180 from the interchange
My (revised) speculations on JIS amendments: (Just my 2 cents worth; not considering the 150 suggestion above)
99 will start from Joo Koon Int, ply Joo Koon Circle, Benoi Rd, Upp Jurong Rd, Jurong West St 93, Jurong West St 91 and continues its original route to Clementi Int.
182/M will start from Joo Koon Int, ply Joo Koon Circle, Benoi Rd, Upp Jurong Rd and continues its original route to Tuas South Ave 9.
254 will start from Joo Koon Int, ply Joo Koon Circle, Benoi Rd, Pioneer Rd and continues its original route to Tuas Ave 11.
255 will start from Joo Koon Int, ply Joo Koon Circle, Benoi Rd, Gul Circle and continues its original route to Gul Cres.
257 will start from Joo Koon Int, ply Joo Koon Circle, Benoi Rd and continues its original route to Pioneer Sector 2.
New service 253 will be introduced from Joo Koon Int looping at Jln Samulun, via Joo Koon Circle, Benoi Rd, Pioneer Rd, Tg Kling Rd, Shipyard Rd and Jln Samulun, covering the removed sector of 254.
249 will be amended to loop at Tg Kling Rd, skipping Shipyard Rd and Jln Samulun (covered by 253).
(Alternatively, 251 can be amended to Pioneer Rd with 253 plying Shipyard Rd and Tg Kling Rd to Jurong Shipyard, and 249 skipping Jurong Shipyard.)
New service 256 will be introduced from Joo Koon Int looping at Benoi Cres, via Joo Koon Circle, Benoi Rd, Benoi Sector and Benoi Cres, covering the removed sector of 255.
New service 258 will be introduced from Joo Koon Int to Kian Teck Cres, via Joo Koon Circle, Benoi Rd, Jln Ahmad Ibrahim, Pioneer Rd North, Kian Teck Way, Kian Teck Ave, Kian Teck Dr, Kian Teck Cres, Kian Teck Ave, Kian Teck Way and back to Joo Koon Int, covering the removed sector of 257.
(Alternatively, 258 can be from Joo Koon Int to Taman Jurong Ter, via Joo Koon Circle, Benoi Rd, Jln Ahmad Ibrahim, Pioneer Rd North, International Rd, Yung Kuang Rd, Corporation Dr, Yung Ho Rd, Yuan Ching Rd and Hu Ching Rd.)

I love the route between Eunos > Still > Marine Parade > Mountbatten > Fort > Meyer road... quite unique as Fort/Meyer road need another service... especially to connect to Parkway Parade / i12 Katong.
I would modify the route to ply Still road > East Coast Rd > Joo Chiat Rd > Marine Parade > Amber road > Mountbatten Road > Fort road > Meyer road and back... this will also connect Marine Parade/Amber/Fort/Meyer to i12 Katong and shophouses along East Coast Rd... Also East Coast Rd part will get a direct connection to Eunos MRT.
The part between Eunos and Tampines is winding and repeitive... though if it does Kaki Bukit will give sv 15 some relief... but also sv 15 is doing okay now given it has got many fleet add in recent years.

Originally posted by Path Light:I may love that route but it does not serve Boon Lay Bus Interchange
Hmmm... sad.
Originally posted by AJQZC:Some possible improvements:
- 253 can serve the lower part of Benoi Rd (at Keppel Shipyard Benoi) in both directions (can consider new bus stops opposite) before going on to Pioneer Rd / Shipyard Rd and loop at Tanjong Kling Rd, and provide faster journey to Joo Koon.
- 251 will now continue along Pioneer Rd and skip Tanjong Kling Rd / Shipyard Rd.
- 257 can be diverted to serve more of Gul area (Gul Ave / Circle / Dr / Way) before proceeding to loop at Pioneer Sector 2. Currently its route is almost entirely duplicating 254.
- (Alternatively, swap these changes on 253 / 257, so 257 serves lower Benoi Rd and 253 serves the Gul area before going on to Pioneer Rd / Shipyard Rd).
- 256 can skip the last pair of stops along Benoi Sector and extend to Benoi Cres, Pioneer Cres, Tanjong Kling Rd (no loop) and Jln Samulun to ease load from 249.
- 258 can bridge the link from some of the industrial sub-areas to Pioneer MRT (e.g. via Kian Teck, as you've suggested) to divert some crowd away from Joo Koon MRT.
- 192, 193 remain unchanged; transfers to 192 can be made at Benoi Rd (from Joo Koon MRT), that to 193 can be made at Pioneer Rd Nth (from Pioneer MRT).
With 257 cut to Joo Koon, I strongly feel 193 will do 257's route in Jurong West... while 192 will continue on JW Ave 4 as today.
