I agree, starting from Sims Pl would be better as you would provide a direct link to Paya Lebar which will see a lot of new developments in the coming years. But to be honest a link up Sims Av/Sims Av East/New Upp Changi Rd & Changi Rd/Geylang Rd to CBP is just too duplicative of current services. Commuters can transfer to 47 at Tanah Merah station. Higher demand between CBP-Tanah Merah can be covered using with a 47M service. And honestly, given how slow traffic can be along the above segments, commuters in Kembangan/Eunos/Paya Lebar/Aljunied will elect to use the MRT. As for Sims Pl, I grant that there are no connections to amentieis in Geylang/Eunos etc. A new service is def in order but going to CBP is just overkill la.
Hi mrbusanalyser, sorry for my comments. Yes, a new Tampines-Rochor Canal service could be implemented but I wouldn't put it as a loop. If possible terminate it at Queen St (not possible I know) or Marina Centre. But that's really my point (sorry for not being clear) that there is just no suitable place to terminate the service mid-way. Little India - Marina Centre would just be too duplicative. Cheers

Did you mean 14 & 51? Splitting them defeats the purpose of why they were even created at all.
14, 51, 61 & 67 all need joint operators as it makes sense putting them under 2 GCM packages (which are likely to be awarded to different contractors).

LTI to MCT/Suntec can provide competition to 857. Also 857 may need a layover point but all suitable ones are packed. Perhaps if there is a new bus park at Marina South (for routes originating in the city area) it can terminate there.

Hi mr shell station, have a standalone number. No need to be an M variant since the starting interchange is different from its parent. Cheers. Thanks.

Bus Service 967 would enhance the intra-town bus connection along Woodlands Avenue 9 and Gambas Avenue. It provides a new bus connection between Woodlands North and Yishun North.
The section between Yishun and Punggol is completely new. The area is relatively under-developed. Nonetheless, this Bus Service provides a direct bus connection between Punggol and Woodlands Avenue 9, where Republic Polytechnic is located. This Bus Service runs along the South-West boundary of the Woodlands Industrial Park. It would benefit Punggol residents who study or work at Woodlands North.

Bus Service 968 would no doubt enhance the bus connection between Woodlands and Jurong West. It provides a direct bus connection for Jurong West residents who study at the Singapore Sports School or Innova Junior College.
While the connection Bus Service 968 provides between Boon Lay and Woodlands (around 36 minutes) may not be faster than the connection provided by the MRT (around 28 minutes), it provides a bus connection that is around two times faster than Bus Services 178 (around 89 minutes) and 187 (around 76 to 77 minutes).
The only setback is that the catchment area of this bus service is only the two bus interchanges, Jalan Boon Lay, Jalan Bahar and Woodlands Avenue 2. Still, there should be a sustainable amount of demand to operate this bus service.

Originally posted by One-Punch Man:Hi. I would like to recommend a new express bus service which runs between Tampines and Jurong.
This express bus service is mainly for the East-siders to get to the schools in Clementi and Dover, and to the Jurong Lake District.
This express bus service is for the West-siders to get to Temasek Polytechnic, and to the MacPherson area.
Everyday, many people travel across the East and West. I am sure this express bus service will be well-received by the people.
As this express bus service is mainly for the East-siders and also for the West-siders, I shall assign the number "510" to this bus service. "5" means it's an express bus service. "1" is the middle number for express bus services in the East. "0" is the middle number for express bus services in the West.

Express Bus Service 510 would indeed be useful and popular among the people staying in the East, as well as people staying in the West who work at the MacPherson and Tai Seng industrial estates, or study at Temasek Polytechnic.
It takes around 50 minutes to travel on the MRT between Tampines station and Jurong East station. Express Bus Service 510 takes around 60 minutes. To travel on Express Bus Service 510 from Tampines to Jurong East, the fare is $2.55 ($3 if pay cash). If travel on the MRT, the fare is $1.98 ($2.50 if pay by standard ticket). Commuters would have to pay 28.8% more money and spend around 20.0% more time should they use Express Bus Service 510 to travel from Tampines to Jurong East.
Still, it is easier to get a seat on Express Bus Service 510, than on the MRT. There may be people who are willingly to pay more and spend more time for a comfortable ride between Tampines and Jurong East.
It would be better if this bus service is re-routed to Kakit Bukit and extended to Jurong West, as this would increase its catchment area and benefit more people. However, doing so would increase the length of the route to beyond 30 km. Nonetheless, the catchment area of Jurong East and Tampines should be large enough to sustain the operations of this Express Bus Service.

I think it is better to assign a number that is in a series already in use by the existing bus services in Jurong West. The number "247" could be a better number for this bus service.
Currently, the section of Corporation Road at Taman Jurong where this bus service runs along has only bus service 178. This bus service will surely make this section of Corporation Road more accessible by bus. It will provide a bus connection to Jurong Stadium from the Northern part of Taman Jurong and Boon Lay, which is currently not available.
The other new bus connection provided by this bus service is between Lakeside MRT Station and parts of Boon Lay Avenue not covered by bus services 240 and 246. Meanwhile, it enhances the bus connection between Lakeside MRT Station and Boon Lay Place, which is a heavily-utilised section.

Well, I do not know if it is wise to split Bus Service 61 at Toa Payoh.
If it is to shorten the route for easier management of the bus service, I do not think that area is the best place to split the bus service. The route of Bus Service 61 is 38.9km/35.7km. The mid-point is at Harbourfront MRT Station area. I think it is better to split the bus service there, using the HarbourFront Bus Interchange.

I am sorry. I cannot make sense with the section between Bishan and Lavender Street. It is totally off, and it seems to duplicate the route of bus service 13.
I agree that between Queenstown station and Lavender station, bus service 51 duplicates the other bus services that also call at Queenstown station. Nonetheless, this enables a direct bus connection between Clementi area and the City area. If we skip this section to reduce duplication, there would be a loss of direct bus connection between Clementi and the City.

Bus Service 110 duplicates bus services 156 and 159.
Besides, there is bus service 131 from Farrer Park MRT Station and bus service 57 from Bishan MRT Station going to the areas around Novena MRT Station which Bus Service 110 serves.
Nonetheless, the section between Punggol and Jalan Kayu can be a new bus service. :)

By the way, this is only to indicate the part of the bus service you recommended. I think it is better to skip Sentul Crescent and Punggol Walk, and straightaway go to Punggol Field.

Hi mr jurongresident, no need for such a service 137. Punggol residents can take sbs 117 directly there. Sengkang residents along some of the routes can take sbs 102 which is just few months into this service. As for anchorvale link and fernvale link, they will have new feeders and trunk services to other areas, not always jalan Kayu. Take note Jalan Kayu road is quite cramped due to it being a 1 lane road either direction. Already squeezed sbs 85 in recent years and sbs 102 in recent months. I believe anchorvale and fernvale residents rather have mr sbs 9252G proposed route to st Michael. Cheers. Thanks.

I think it is better to not skip any section of the route, but simply let the bus service loop outside New Bridge Road Bus Terminal and return to Bukit Merah Bus Interchange.

Whereas for bus service 273, it is a feeder. It cannot become a variant of bus service 120 because they are not the same type of bus service.
