Extend your 967 to loop at Changi Village better.
Like that BC should bring portable toilets ~~
If he is the Minister of Transport i am sure many car owners will rest their cars at home during weekdays and take bus instead.Imagine from Boon Lay to Changi V,Tuas to Hougang,Bt Panjang to Tampines etc

I thank Mr carbikebus for his online forum reply ('Imagine very long bus routes'; August 11).
This is a good idea. Imagine having bus services on very long bus routes going from one part of Singapore to another part of Singapore, with limited number of bus stops and heavy utilisation of expressways. If we set the fares for such bus services as similar to the MRT, this could be a viable alternative to the MRT.
Nonetheless, I think the demand for such bus services would be low, very low. To avoid over supply, we could have them operate at frequencies of a few hours.
I am just kidding.

I thank Mr Path Light for his online forum reply ('Suggestion for bus route between Joo Koon and Yishun'; August 10).
I thank him for the similar bus routes that he suggested.
I apologise if I am rude, but the sake of everyone, I urge him to at least provide reasons on why the bus routes he suggest should be considered.
Like what our founding Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew said, "this is not a game of cards. This is your life and mine.", "Do not waste time."

No Way!!! FFW74e does support its parent service (74). As a former patron of Service 74 and FFW74e when I was a student in Ngee Ann, it always has provided good frequencies but I cannot deny that the bus get stuck in traffic congestions...
If I am the new Transport Minister, then:
Svc 24:
Stokesay Dr
Medway Dr
Berwick Dr
Serangoon Garden Way
Lorong Chuan
Serangoon Avenue 2
Upper Serangoon Road
Serangoon Central (stop at Serangoon MRT)
Serangoon Avenue 1
Bartley Road (stop at Bartley MRT)
Bartley Road East (Express)
Tampines Avenue 1
Tampines Avenue 2
Tampines Street 11 (have a bus terminal at former Qiaonan Primary School so that can switch off the engine)
My ideal fleet: ALL Double Deckers.
Svc 97: Extend to Punggol Waterway.
Svc 106: Extend to Punggol Northshore via Tampines North.
Svc 111: Divert to Bidadari or City Square Mall.
Svc 502: Stay.
Extending Service 97 to Punggol Waterway? The route needs to be confirmed
All, I think those who thinks of super long or cross-country routes better give up their ideas. They know that it is not going to happen so what is the rationale to suggest such routes? It is better to suggest routes which are more likely to happen. Cheers.

Why don't you also suggest 147 getting extended to Tuas in the other direction? and maybe 97 can terminate at Woodlands via Jurong East, Bukit Batok and Bukit Panjang right??
Extend to Gelang Patah,Larkin,JB Sentral or Skudai is better..

Hi mr TPS Timothy Mok, I have nothing against you but I am just curious. When you are writing such extensions, did anything come across your mind whether they are really feasible? We cannot be here typing extension just for the sake of extension. Sbs 147 route is so long already and you still extend it some more? I really cannot believe. Anyway now the trend is not about such super long routes. Cheers. Thanks.
I would like to say something in this thread 'Route Suggestions (Part 6)', to resolve the issue about bus routes being "very long".
Nowadays, the new bus routes are usually around ten km (between five km to fifteen km).
Occasionally, there are new bus routes that exceed twenty km, but currently there are only a handful of new bus routes (as far as I know, 120 and 972) that exceed twenty km.
I would like to know how everyone here defines bus routes that are “very long”.
Anyway, most of the bus routes in Singapore are not long. In Hong Kong, feeder bus routes are around twenty km while trunk bus routes are around forty km. I do not know about London, Klang Valley, or any other cities with bus systems similar to Singapore’s.
Are “very long” bus routes those that are beyond forty km?

In my definition,
" very long" = winding and has a lot of stops
Feeder is forgivable due to its inherent purpose. However, not for long-haul trunks, as stops and winding routes go against their purpose: to transport ppl from point to point.
And definitely HK buses are "longer" - their land space is much bigger too. The shame is, time taken to cover 40+ km there is equivalent to covering 10+ to 20+ km down here!
Perhaps this is one of the things we hope to see rectified when the new guys steps up.
