Service 984 (Sembawang Int <> Mei Ling St) Loop
- Provide connection to AMK > Marymount > PIE > Jln Jurong Kechil > Toh Tuck > Clementi > AYE > Queensway/Commonwealth > Mei Chin/MeiLing/Stirling
- Serves as a cross-island service via 3 major expressways
- Number 984 chosen since it linked with 985 along the route and meets 64 at loop point

I like how 984 is crafted, complementing svcs like 980/859/851/852/132, but the two express sectors might be a little too long, furthermore a loop service :0
Well,
Longest BSEP Trunk: 972 (total 40.2km)
2nd Longest BSEP Trunk: 50 (total 37.3km)
3rd Longest BSEP Trunk: 120 (21km)
Longest BSEP Feeder: 904 (8km)
2nd Longest BSEP Feeder(s): 859A (5.1km) and 859B (5.0km)
3rd Longest BSEP Feeder: 371 (4.7km)
the only BSEP routes that are longer than the longest BSEP Trunk 972 are the BSEP Express bus routes.
Longest BSEP Express: 951 (58.6km)
2nd Longest BSEP Express: 850 (54km)
3rd Longest BSEP Express: 982 (52.3km)
4th Longest BSEP Express: 513 (49.8km)
With that, let's continue suggesting new bus routes using the "guiding principle":
Feeder - up to 8km
Trunk - 8km to 15km
Long Trunk - 15km to 20km
Very Long Trunk - up to 21km (maximum 22.5km) in one direction [total up to 45km]
Express - up to 29.5km (maximum should be 30km) in one direction [total up to 60km]
Actually, if use the "guiding principle", many of the "very long" bus routes suggestions here are actually in the BSEP Express bus routes category.
Nonetheless, some are beyond that. For example, the shortest route from Joo Koon to Changi Airport is already around 40km in one direction. These routes would very likely not be considered at all.

Hi mr jurong resident,
your trunk and long trunk is in 1 direction or 2 direction? If it is 1 direction, then not much difference between trunk, long trunk and very long trunk. If it is 2 directions, then trunk and long trunk does not fit. Cheers. Thanks.
OWith that, let's continue suggesting new bus routes using the "guiding principle":

I would consider something like this:
New routes are to avoid the "very long trunk" category (example: current services 14, 51, 61) at all costs, and the "long trunk" category as much as possible.
I think the range is 7km, where
Feeder: 1.5km to 8.5km
Trunk: 8.5km to 15.5km
Long Trunk: 15.5km to 22.5km
Express: 22.5km to 29.5km
Actually, it makes sense. The longest BSEP express bus route 951 is 29.5km in one direction. The shortest BSEP trunk route 49 is 8.7km in one direction. The longest BSEP feeder route 804 is 8.0km in one direction.
I think the definitions are clear now.
With that, I look forward to better suggestions of bus routes. Whether new or existing, please ensure that the length of one direction is within the range. The only flexibility is that "Trunk" can become "Long Trunk", that's all.
Feeder one direction minimum 1.5km, maximum 8.5km
Trunk one direction minimum 8.5km, maximum 22.5km
Express one direction minimum 22.5km, maximum 29.5km
There are many websites that enable us to measure length. For example, onemap.sg tools, "Google My Maps" create path, etcetera.
Let us make it a practice that when we suggest bus routes, we indicate the length in one direction.
If it is an amendment to an existing route, indicate the final length in one direction.

I would like to introduce a new bus service 129, Amk – Changi Village. This service will provide some good connectivity as listed below.
Route:
Ang Mo Kio Ave 8 > Ave 5 > CTE > TPE > Seletar Aerospace Way > Oxford St > Seletar Aerospace Dr > Seletar Nth Link > Punggol Way > Punggol Ctrl > Edgedale Plains > Punggol Field> Punggol East Flyover > Sengkang East Dr > Buangkok East Dr > KPE > TPE > Pasir Ris Dr 8 > Dr 1 > St 52 > Dr 3 > Dr 2 > Loyang Way > Loyang Ave > Changi Village Rd > Changi Village Ter
Pros:
- Fast connection by the way Ang Mo Kio and Punggol towns.
- Faster connection from Punggol to Pasir Ris/Loyang compared to sv 3.
- New connection by the way Ang Mo Kio Mrt to Seletar Aerospace Park, and Punggol Mrt and Seletar Aerospace Park.
- Skips the Tpe-Punggol Road sector which encounters heavy traffic during peak hours.
Cons:- Route maybe too long and windy.
I do have to agree that the route is quite original... but from a loading perspective not sure it will have many takers... also from distance perspective quite long..

I think better option is to make 171 loop service once DTL2 is launched. 171 can do Pending > Petir > Jelubu > BPJ Ring road > BPJ road and back to Yishun.. This way Petir link is maintained while adding new route for BPJ ring road residents to Yishun.

Service 7, 147 and 165 use Service 99's route until turning right to follow Service 157's route at Corporation Road

7, 147, 165?
Not say cannot, but how long would their updated lengths in one direction be after we extend them to Boon Lay Bus Interchange?
If it is more than 22.5km, then I think it would be too long - unless we change it to Express service. Even if it's Express service, please limit the number of bus stops to around 25 and limit the length of one direction to 29.5km.
Sorry, but even a bus ride of around 13km on 185 from Dover MRT Station to Jurong West Avenue 5 I already feel it's very long. The ride is at least 55 minutes, around one hour. Can you imagine how long is a ride of around 22.5km with so many bus stops?
Please spare a thought for our Bus Captains.
Nonetheless, if one or all of the bus routes (7, 147, 165) their updated length is less than 22.5km in one direction after we extend them to Boon Lay, then why not? :)

All 3 used to go Jurong anw (7/147 to JE; 165 to BNL), all shortened to Clementi because of MRT Rationalization, senseless to reinstate them back to Jurong.
aiyo this path light damn funny leh, suggest useless routes.. might as well create a route tour 1 singapore ? zzz

On the other hand, I wonder if services such as 41, 183 and/or 990 are worth extending to Jurong West / Corporation area ~ assuming they do not double 49's extension

183 - strictly NO. It already has its catchment area and super high loading during peak hours
41 - I believe this one will get extended in future. Could be to Bukit Panjang via Dairy Farm, Chestnut
990 - might get extended in future to CCK via the future Bukit Batok west town, Bukit Batok road, Brickland road area
