Hi mr sbs6750E, who is mr Jr? Are you referring to mr gekpohboy's nonsensical logic? Get used to it and you will feel okay. Cheers. Thanks.

Hi mr sbs9252G, good for smrt982. But cannot remove 858 woodlands and yishun link to Changi airport. Or else will irk commuters again and cause another petition. Doubt they will ever remove the important link. Cheers. Thanks.
Not really a new route but svc 852 and 853 can extend to Sembawang.859 can loop at KTPH via outside Yishun Int.
By 2017, Canberra's first batch of BTO will be completed, definitely will need links to other places.

How about this:
Service 833: Sembawang - Yishun (loop)
833A can loop at Canberra MRT, then loop back via Canberra View --> Crescent --> Way.
A future route amendment of 169 to serve Canberra Walk and Canberra Crescent will be enough to take care of that side, with 117/833 covering the skipped sectors.
In this way all three MRT stations are served, and those living / working along Yishun Ave 7 and Ave 9 will have an alternative MRT link to Canberra and do not need to rely solely on 811. Sembawang Drive residents can also get easier access to Yishun and KTPH.
(Am using the number 833, just to facilitate a possible future scenario of the renumbering of 980/981/882 to 830/831/832. This is tentative, of course.)
Renumbering of bus services:
941, 945, 947 to be renumbered back to 361, 365, 367 - when Tower Transit is operational, so as not to waste a lot of numbers.
Service 71
Sembawang Interchange - Changi Airport PTB
Via
Sembawang Vista, Sembawang Dr/Way, Sembawang Rd, Canberra St/Way, Yishun Ave 2, Yishun Ring Rd, Yishun Ave 4, Yishun Ave 1, Seletar West Link, Seletar Aerospace Dr, Picadilly, Jalan Kayu, TPE, ECP, Airport Boulevard.

Dude its only from MT to Eunos. Not shortened to like, Serangoon. Pls comment with your brain switched on with the 190 analogy...
So called? I think its real lor. Show me svcs that prove otherwise if you can?
I was merely suggesting that 76's amendment has nothing to do with MacPherson Spring and MacPherson Residency etc unlike what gekpohboy suggested. It is sad that you took my 190 joke seriously.

Then again converting a svc from a loop svc to a bi-directional svc is a form of shortening, ain't it

That's gonna be very long and winding for Sumang Lane residents to go to MRT. I'd rather keep 382G/W as bidirectional loop services and amend both into Sumang Lane.
What if it is this way:
1. 858 to be amended back to its normal route
2. New service 888 to ply the deleted sectors of 858, however skipping Sembawang Rd and entering Canberra estate and KTPH/Yishun Poly (Let 859, 856, 167, 980 and AC7 do the job, in addition to the SSC shuttle bus plying part of those deleted sectors)
3. New service 887 to ply Canberra and Yishun Ave 7 then looping at Yishun Int to prevent congestion of 888 and 811
4. New Service 889 to enter Changi Airport via Sembawang, Canberra & Toa Payoh which currently has no service to Changi Airport from Toa Payoh (skip Sengkang as 27 and 34 are there)
For TPY, 155 can extend to CGA. No point looping at MP/Siglap intersection as there already exist 55/135.

I don't see why that's a problem when there's even more windy services.

Only Siglap Rd is a better place to loop.

All in all, the closure of Marine Parade Ter is still one of the few grave mistakes made by the authorities in history, since they did not make proper plans of possible replacement terminating points for the affected services.
The location of Upp East Coast Ter isn't prime either, given that if all 8 (13, 16, 55, 76, 135, 155, 196 & 853C) were extended there, they'll end up duplicating one another excessively and, complaints.
Thus, only 2 of the 8 services were selected to terminate there, while 1 (later increased to 2) was extended to Bedok Int while duplicating sv197 and the rest, loop at the former site of the terminal, resulting in many of these routes to become excessively long and then, complaints again.
Nothing that is done in bus route planning ever pleases everyone.

196 also duplicates 31 excessively as a result of the extension... 16 also duplicates these 3 services to some extent, although it does have the unique sector at Upp East Coast Rd.
Ironically, people seem to prefer taking 31 at Bedok MRT to Marine Parade Rd, instead of 16/196/197 at interchange.

MOE needed the land for the building of Victoria School in preparation for its integrated program. 196 extended to Bedok as it was too long to loop. The finishing touches were being applied to UEC. I know because my old army unit was located right next to it. The camp has since been demolished and its servicemen moved to another garrison.
Later, 13 & 853 were extended to UEC. SBS then intro 48, 43 & 45 from scratch while the ex-MP routes continued to loop at Siglap. In the meantime, 608 was withdrawn, bringing the CSS story to a close. This paved the way for 16 to be extended to Bedok 2 years later. In 2010, 76 was amended to loop at Marine Tce. 506 was extended to UEC, providing a direct link between Bedok Reservoir and Bedok South. 48 was also extended to BNDEP via TNM MRT.
This leaves 55. 135 & 155 still looping at Siglap. 155 could be extended to CBP, but it would duplicate 47. In the old days, 155 originated from Somapah, which made way for the current SUTD building.
Is it just me, or does 150 resemble an enhanced version of M4? I remember 13 merged with M4 and 15 extended to Amber Circus. Eunos lost 3 routes in one go.
Sembawang ought to have a feeder..Its the second bus int without any feeder after Eunos.882 and 63M is a trunk.
Ironic Harbourfront and Yio Chu Kang they call it Interchange just because the MRT stn.

Hi mr carbikebus, one reason I guess is they need make up 25 bus routes to Loyang depot. Maybe they are deciding between 50 and 136 at that time and choose 136 in the end. Note that there are currently only 24 services and still short of 1 which is rumoured to be the new sbs 68 from pasir ris int to Tampines ave 4 loop. Cheers. Thanks.
