Service 36 extension to Harbourfront Interchange
From Changi Airport PTB2, follow normal routing to Orchard Blvd, skips Tomlinsion Road:
New routing after Orchard Blvd:
Grange Road
Tanglin Road
Tiong Bahru Road (Redhill MRT)
Henderson Road
Teloh Blangah Road
Harbourfront Interchange
Routing towards CGA from Tanglin Road to Orchard is similar to Svc 111 from Tanglin Road to Orchard Road, buses will still layover at CGA in addition to at Harbourfront
Pros: Connects Tanglin Road to Harbourfront, provides an alternative to 132 to Redhill, by converting 36 to bi-directional, I feel that this would help to improve Svc 36's as Svc 36 is prone to bunching in the CBD/Orchard area
Cons: I'm not sure if HBF have spaces for a new service for a short layover before contuning journey towards CGA
SWT 36B will still operate as per normal, but will skip the bus stop along Tomlinson Road, SWT 36A will be withdrawn upon conversion
Originally posted by gekpohboy:No, not 60. If want, re-route 21 to cover that section. 60 offers the direct bus connection to Eunos MRT for people living along Bedok Reservoir Road. If we re-route 60 that way, we will remove that direct bus connection. I rather we leave 60 alone and touch other routes instead, like 21, 66, etcetera. Thanks.
Could try 22 or 228 as well.

there is already 145/132 duplicating.. and also sv16 which go from Bukit Merah to orchard...no need to extend..
i would rather they bring back the napier road terminal (beside dempesy) where the old 390 used to terminate...

Yes true..At least BCs can have a proper rest.
Possible future route amendment to service 40:
This would allow service 14 to be correspondingly amended as:
Overall, service 40 would ply about 22 km in both directions, while service 14 would be reduced from 33 to 27 km in either direction. By extension, 155's loop into Circuit Rd may be removed as well, given the effective transfers via 40 and 154/150 to either side, thus improving the reliability of three services in total.
Originally posted by 201911:Can just amend svc 60 to ply Jln Tenaga - Kaki Bukit Ave 1 - Jln Damai instead of Bedok Reservoir Rd. No bus stops skipped and about 3-5 minutes extra runtime.
Leave 60 alone as the feeder from Eunos to Bedok Reservoir. I would rather amend 22 there (since it's already duplicating many services) and extend 228 to loop there.

Not sure if 40's frequency and capacity is enough for Bedok - TNM - East Coast stretch...
Splitting up service 5:
5: Pasir Ris - Eunos
(Original route - Jln Eunos - Eunos Int)
44: Changi Business Park - Bukit Merah
(CBP Ter - Changi South Ave 1 - Somapah Rd - Simei Rd - Original route)
Assuming that nobody from Pasir Ris will take 5 to city because it's too winding. Only drawback I can see is that the private estates along Upp Changi Rd East will lose their direct service to the city.

SBST won't use 44, 144, 244 etc. 71 would be a better service number.

Do you still think SBST or SMRTB in charge now?

So many BSEP services already, no service numbers ending with double 4 (except premium 544).

Tampines town route modifications:
Service 18:
Comments:
- Retains connection between Tampines Ave 7 and Bedok, albeit in the reverse direction and with a slightly more winding route. Duplication with 21 is minimized.
- Removes duplicative section with 28 from Tampines Ave 2 - Bedok. Tampines Ave 2 residents can still commute via 28 to Bedok, 8 to Tampines Ave 7, or 20 to Tampines Central. Commuters at Blk 401/502 bus stops can still travel to Bedok via 168.
- Provides link from Tampines West MRT station to Tampines St 11 (return route is provided by amended 292)
- Provides two-way link to Tampines East MRT station to residents of Tampines Ave 9 and Sts 42, 43, 44, 45 (suppose 28, 29, 293 are not rerouted; they may have to be retained for connection to Tampines North Pr Sch & Tampines St 41).
- May require a significant fleet boost / transfer from 28 and 293.
Service 292:
- Link between Tampines East MRT station and Tampines St 32/33 may still need to be patched. This may be done by rerouting 291 to skip St 23 (for which there will need to be a replacement service).

Can always deploy short trip 40A when needed ...

So 134 not ending with 4?LTA is not as conservative as SBST la,Who would think that Tampines got svc 4 also and its also have double deckers too.Stop being like a fortune teller and get on with relevant topic la friend.

That will only be possible if the stretch of Siglap Rd that 40 currently plies can take DDs. It simply can't because of the hilly terrain and tight corners that even some SDs with poorer handling struggle to get through.
Service 126 (Upp East Coast Rd <> McPherson) - LOOP
Upp East Coast Rd > East Coast Rd > Frankel Av > Changi Rd (return via Sims Av) > Jln Eunos > Eunos Link > Ubi Av 3 > Paya Lebar Rd > Pipit Rd > Circuit Rd (Loop).
1. New connection between Upp East Coast Rd, East Coast Rd, Frankel Av with Jln Euons & Ubi Industrial Estate.
2. Realised that going from East Coast/Upp East Coast to Toa Payoh is a pain in the behind. From Eunos transfers are avilable to 59, 966, 506, and other services that serve the central/northeastern region like 25 & 854.
3. New connection between Ubi & Kembangan. Transfer to assortment of services along Changi Rd/Sims Av for service to Chai Chee/Bedok.
3. Connection between Mcpherson Estate & Ubi Av 3.
4. Connects DTL3 at Mcpherson and EWL at Eunos with Ubi Av 3.
However, I've heard rumours that Ubi will be served by a certain 137 from Sims Pl via Sims Av & Paya Lebar Rd. It will loop somewhere in Ubi, possibly Av 3 given that 58 only plies that road.
Svc 108 - Serangoon - CGA
SGN Int, Ave 2, Upp SGN Rd, Boundary Rd
YCK Rd, SKG West Rd, West Ave, Fernvale Rd
West Way, East Way, East Rd, TPE Stop
PSR Dr 12, 1, Loyang Ave, TPE, PIE
Airport Blvd, T3, T1, T2
Svc 53 amended to CBP
Route from Bishan - Loyang Ave
TPE, Upp Changi Rd East, Somapah Rd
Changi Sth Ave 1, CBP Terminal
- Duplicates heavy loading sector of Svc 70 and 103 from SGN to YCK Rd
- Connects West Way with YCK Rd
- Connects SKG West with TPE stop
- Svc 53 could use DDs if new route loading justifies, also better frequency towards Bishan
- Duplicates the SGN - PSR sector with Svc 109 though (Might take longer than 109 as well)

I like the part of the route which goes via st 11. But it should do bi-directional. This way it will connect Tampines East MRT bi-directional + provide connection to Tampines East CC which is missing today.
Service 18 will become more useful from 2018 when it will connect Bedok Ave 2 to Bedok Reservoir MRT + some modification will be better.

I've found a problem though ... the junction at St 12 and Ave 2 doesn't allow right turns. So it's either St 11 for the return route to Bedok only, or this route via St 12 is avoided altogether (thus going either via Ave 4 or Ave 5).
The connection between Ave 9 / St 42 / 45 and Tampines East CC is difficult to achieve. The only solutions I can currently forsee are extending 293 (east) to St 23 before turning back to Ave 9, or extending 29 to St 32 and 34, both of which may not be desireable. [At DTL3 opening, if there will be a new pair of bus stops along Ave 2 to serve the MRT entrance, then diverting 18 to St 24/23 and Ave 2 would solve the problem.] Again, I'm trying not to suggest new services unless absolutely necessary.
As for the link between Tampines East MRT and St 32/34, I'm not sure which would be the optimal route to divert: 291 (skipping St 23, which would need a replacement service), 38 (additional detour after Ave 7), or 81 (skipping one pair of stops along Ave 7). What's your take?
Just now, I dreamt that 969 is amended to serve Pasir Ris after Tampines. The route goes like this:
Tampines Ave 7
Pasir Ris Dr 8, 3, 12
current route
What if this happens in reality? I really like how the amended route goes though

53's heavy loading sector is largely Pasir Ris - Changi Airport, so not sure if it will still have DD-worthy loading after this amendment. (Lor Ah Soo sector has 53M) Although there might be people travelling from Pasir Ris to SUTD.
I was also thinking 53 can terminate at BNDEP via Upp Changi Rd East, Simei Rd (ITE) and Upp Changi Rd to provide direct connection between Pasir Ris and ITD (although a bit windy).
