What about Compassvale interchange?

Hi mr hgdep103, yes you are absolutely right. Hougang interchange expansion really opened today 11-01-2017. Congrats. Hip hip hooray! Cheers. Thanks.
All, during peak hours, almost everybody stood in between berth B2 and B3 waiting for 3/83/85. Some waited inside queue for 83 thinking the tv is right in showing the earliest arrival time. End up 85 came first and everybody rushed to board 85. Lucky 85 is DD. Later 83 also comes. DD too. Around 70+ each for 85 and 70+ each for 83. Cheers. Thanks.
S3 got 3 AM shift from 0700-0720 will off service to PSR Dr 1 Blk 738 towards Tampines to cover buses that stuck with the famous Punggol Jams..

What time?

Ok. Last time what I noticed is that after 7pm the frequency of all 3 services 3, 83 and 85 departing Punggol really detoriates. The frequency goes to 15-18 mins and this also could be the reason why the loading is so high at this time as it would still be peak time for workers who leave at 630pm from CBD area. Between 05-07pm, the frequency of 83 is 08-10 mins, 3 is 08-10 mins and 85 is around 10-12 mins. Hence during this time loading is more spaced out and buses get around 40-50pax from interchange.
is this consistent with your observations?

Hi mr busanalyser, yes. There are also many others (living at 2nd stop area) who rushed to 85 or 83 just now which pumped up the loading figure. Most alighted at the 3rd stop along Punggol central. Some alighted at 4th stop. Of course, there are many who alighted at 2nd stop. These people could also board 136 or 386 but of course they will board 3/83/85 as well if the bus comes for obvious reasons. 136 frequency is no good at 7pm++ and 386 already witnesses long queues because it is only bus to edgefield/edgedale plains end. Cheers. Thanks.
Is there any news regarding compassvale interchange??

Hi mr rajboi37, I am also awaiting news of this. Cheers. Thanks.
I think either 80/87 and 156 will move to compassvale interchange cos 80 & 87 has similar routes till hougang central and there is 159/43/43M to complement 156 along buangkok green and yck rd..... ur views??

Hi mr rajboi37, my views are more extreme. The current services will remain there. They will introduce new services at the expanded interchange. Reason is they are connected by a bridge. Distance is about 50 metres only. No need for massive shifting of existing services. This is unlike tampines int which is 250-300 metres away from its expanded interchange. Cheers. Thanks.

I think anything can be possible... Maybe one or two current service may shift to the new extension. But unsure of which service only...

Not really because svc 87 is the only bus that connects blks at Compassvale Rd towards Sengkang East Ave with Sengkang MRT while svc 80 connects the blks at Compassvale Dr (alt: 86) and Punggol Road (alt: 163).
If you notice, most people who board at Sengkang MRT during PM peak will usually alight at these stops that I mentioned above on svc 80/87.
I agree that 156 should move. 159 also. Both stop outside Compass1, so people have option to either walk to Compassvale Interchange or take it from Sengkang East Ave. I would also recommend 372 but more unlikely since it is a feeder. All other services should stay in current Sengkang Interchange.

They need to adjust frequency of svc 83 post 7pm. It can be around 10-12 mins from 5-7pm and they should maintain this frequency until 8pm, given that all services lose their frequency post 7pm (end of some shifts).

Hi mr busanalyser, I think no need to adjust frequency of 83. All they need to do now is maintain the exact frequency of 3/83/85/136/386. If there is no slip up, it should still work out fine. Passengers can choose any of these except for the last 2 stops along Punggol central to rely on 3/83/85. Cheers. Thanks.

Svc 83 Weekdays would be ideal with 6AM-7PM / 2 S1
with 6 DDs and 2 SDs,The extra PM duty adequate with SD for supplement jam.
Weekends 7AM-PM / 2 TQ
with fleet of 5 DD and 4 SD..
The HCI extension from what I see those svc the BC when turning right don't really keep in lane one so (I saw one using left turn lane to turn right)
All, in the hillion mall facebook, they replied that the Bukit panjang interchange will open in 2nd half of yr 2017. This means hillion mall will open first on 24 feb 2017. Cheers. Thanks.
