Most probably, will only be partial. Some services will still start from bus stop.
I heard the temp bus park will continue to house some services for parking.

Hi mr sbs6750E, congrats. Finally wait until today. Finally. The wait is damn long.

Yes it will. Because the new ITH only have very minimal parking lots, as it is very small.
That's why in future there is Gali Batu Bus Terminal and depot.

20 parking lots only?Haha..Take years to build and yet its much smaller than the old one?I was expecting 5 18m lots and 20 12m lots at least.

isn't 20 gotta be like 9-10 services? (Assuming 1 svc takes 2 lots)

I suspect some of origin BPJ svc would not start from there..

As you can see, the route for 177 and 180 are short enough to become loop service. Given that 983 loops at Jelebu Rd in the same fashion as 180, one can't possibly expect 983 to terminate at Bukit Panjang Interchange. So I guess 177 and 180 will stick to their existing route; but 180 should call opposite Bukit Panjang Plaza as well...

Which you reckon?

Interesting...leaving aside 177 and 180 which I do not think will terminate for reasons I have given earlier; there's the rumour of 700/700A's withdrawal and that 979M is going to be withdrawn by the time the widening of Stagmont Ring junction was completed (which I don't know when would be but it should be for the long-term option). That would left with exactly 10 bus services - 75, 176, 184, 920, 922, 970, 972, 973, 975 and 979. However, it appears to me that 75 and 184 had some similarities in route between Bukit Panjang and Clementi Road...perhaps one of them would not be included?

After more O405G due for scrap this year,176 might get more B9TL..

Maybe a couple of svc still start/end at the current Bus Terminal until Gali Batu is ready.

Only 2 parking lots for each bus service? That is ridiculous.
There should be at least 26 parking lots. 6 spare lots for long trunks like 972, which bunching might occur.
Wow ith getting smaller and smaller.
Smaller than serangoon int?

Hi mr Ajen, I think serangoon int smaller than Bukit panjang.
I realized that those interchanges built integrated with malls and MRT are typically small due to the design of the malls. Take for example, Sengkang, Bukit panjang, serangoon all having small space.
Of course, we know Boon Lay and bedok are unusually big given that they are housing close to 30 bus services. Lots of space were catered for these 2 areas. Why not build larger too for those interchanges integrated with malls? Cheers. Thanks.

It's more like these new ITHs designed by LTA are just big enough for current bus svcs... then need to expand here and there, convert to loop svcs etc.
For Bt Panjang, situation should improve when bendies are phased out. Or SMRT could convert the existing bendies on 176 and 184 to DDs when the bus int opens

Hi mr 201911, let's hope for improved situation for Bukit panjang.
By the way, hillion mall (on top of Bukit panjang ITH) is opening today 24-02-2017. Everybody can go inside the mall and maybe can peek at the upcoming Bukit panjang bus interchange? Cheers. Thanks.

Yes situation should improve when bendies are phased out. I have seen so many times 188 having challenge of reversing the bus from the berth at Harbourfront, especially when there is a bus parked at the side bay due to small interchange size. It is not easy to reverse and manuvere those buses.
Bus services originating at BPJ Interchange
75, 176, 184, 920, 922, 970, 973, 975, 979/M (09 services)
Bus services originating at BPJ Bus Park
700 (if it still exists), 972 (02 services)
* Reason is lot of people board 972 at bus stop along BPJ Road who transfer from 960 (Woodlands Road), 176/963/970 (Hillview), 190 (CCK). If 972 starts from BPJ Interchange, this connection will be lost + 972 itself will need many parking lots that BPJ Interchange will not be able to accommodate.
Bus services looping at Jelubu
171 (assuming it is cut short), 177, 180, 983
Maybe they already have in mind which routes to cut or merge when they announced the Downtown Line stage 2 in 2008. Because if I remember correctly, Vivian Balakrishnan said that time that future MRT lines will be along roads with heavy usage of buses. Have a feeling that one of the objectives of Downtown Line is to reduce the number of bus routes.
