UEC Ter has ceased using berth system today. Will run like the upcoming Shenton Way ter
1 terminal, 2 bus stops.
who went to UEC tdy?
Good evening everybody,
I am pleased to inform you that the new Shenton Way Bus Terminal has been awarded the Temporary Occupation Permit.
The Temporary Occupation Permit is a permission given by the Building and Construction Authority, to allow a building to be used by the general public.
The new Shenton Way Bus Terminal was granted the Temporary Occupation Permit today, at 4:17pm, Singapore / Hong Kong Time.
With the permit obtained, the new bus terminal can now commence revenue service.
With reference to the Changi Business Park Bus Termnal, which obtained the Temporary Occupation Permit on 30 October 2015 and opened on 20 December 2015, 51 days later, the new Shenton Way Bus Terminal should open around 1 June 2017.
The date of the relocation should be announced in May 2017.
Yours Sincerely,
gekpohboy
yes opening in june

Still laying foundation. Haven't pour concrete yet...
btw, for those who dunno, "kg. Bahru bus terminus" is the new "new bridge road bus terminal".

about to open.
probably still deciding on which routes would use the interchange.
Since it is (throwback) Thursday let's talk about Hougang South. LTA shouldn't have closed it down completely. Rather, they should have kept 1 or 2 routes there. It would have served the same function as YCK with the NEL up and running. Perhaps there may not be any requirement to extend Hougang Central interchange now.

Maybe LTA dont have enuf resources to run the interchange. Instead, i think some of us, including you and i, would agree that the best outcome of the HGS interchange could be downgraded to a terminal, and serve 115 there. Plus 53M is using it as a turning point, so by facilitating it makes the place more justified to be a proper ter.
Here's my proposal:
53M to be renumbered to another (feeder) number. The parking lots will be used for the 2 services. There would not be any proper boarding berths, but will run like the current changi village, where the bus stop will be the boarding area. There will be an alighting area (remember, no berths), which will be the current place they stop over. Office can be just a container. In addition, I heard that area is an Malaysia express bus pick-up point, so the buses can make use of another sawtooth to do pick ups. The end on berths on the other side would still be used for other purposes (and hence, no bus services to be using it)
So what do you guys think of it? Thankss :)
BUT DONT FORGET THE FIRST SENTENCE: WILL LTA WANT TO DO IT?!?!?! OBVIOUSLY NO
Hougang South was closed due to the regulation that every town should only have 1 bus interchange. This regulation has been breached repeatedly by recent interchanges such as Compassvale, Tampines Concourse, Yio Chu Kang being upgraded to an interchange, and planned interchanges such as Tampines North and Buangkok.
I doubt that LTA will consider revamping Hougang South in near future as Hougang Ctrl Int has just been expanded. But in the event that HCI faces overcapacity issues again with new routes and fleet additions, it might be possible for Hougang South to serve as an extension to Hougang Ctrl. I'm not too optimistic, though, considering that LTA mainly focuses on newly developed areas, and Hougang is already a mature town.
Buangkok is coming.
They can actually "move everything up north".
where Buangkok becomes "Hougang",
Hougang becomes "Hougang South".
Did Ulu Pandan Bus Depot start today? Heard that 184 went over to Ulu Pandan Depot wef today...

Should be controlled by KJDEP like how BUDEP works.. today spotted SMB203S and TIB1153T on 184...
180 unlikely.. the perm BCs good fren with higher ups hahah! If not 180 would have been with BUDEP... the reason it went back to KJDEP from BUDEP was coz the BC dun want....

UPDEP for refuel area? If need to go there from WLDEP quite far. Lol then BC have to take bus at 0430h to meet first bus timing
Then Wldep to Budep very near ah?
The new YCK interchange expansion will have 4 boarding berths and 22 parking lots.. alighting will still be at current alighting place..
the expansion will be done at the area directly opposite 13/70/72B boarding berth (between the big drain and the current cover shelter towards ave 9)..
and MOT is allocating LTA 44.68 million dollars in 2017 budget for them to do a engineering study/consultation on the feasibility of Multi-storey bus depots.
does LTA really need 44.68 million dollars to do this study??

Hougang is a really big area, with the highest population in the north-east currently (but will be overtaken by Sengkang soon).
I also have a suggestion to merge 53M with 43M and start from Hougang South.
