8. Bus services in Singapore will be bundled into twelve bus packages with about 300-500 buses each. For a start, LTA will tender out three packages of bus services, starting from the second half of 2014 for the first package, for implementation from the second half of 2016. The contracts will be for five years, and can be extended by another two years on good performance. In total, the three packages will comprise about 20% of existing buses.
9. The other nine bus packages, comprising the remaining 80% of existing buses, will continue to be operated by the incumbent operators. LTA will negotiate with the incumbents to run the nine packages under the contracting model, for durations of about five years when their BSOL expire on 31 August 2016. After these negotiated contracts expire, more bus services will be gradually tendered out.
Only four bus depots (Bulim, Loyang, Sungei Seletar and Ulu Pandan) will be other operators only. The rest of the bus depots can be existing operators. Some of the bus depots are here to stay and bus services will grow to about 500.
Sorry to step in again...
Thank you all for sharing your opinions, but kindly note: this thread is just to consolidate information and announce confirmed information (e.g. what bus registered, where). Please do not speculate on who will get what contract, and please do not judge the GCM whether it is good or bad, whether fares will go up or down. This is a neutral thread. Please leave general GCM discussions to the thread that sgbuses linked. Thank you.
As I have said last week (http://sgforums.com/forums/1279/topics/485108?page=46#post_11123268), the transition to GCM is likely to go on until around year 2027/2028.
That's twelve to thirteen years later.
Is this thread going to last for twelve to thirteen years? I do not think so.
It may go on for around one year two months, until January 2017 (seventeen) when buses are registered (or re-registered) for the first two GCM packages in Bulim and Loyang.
Whereas for the third GCM package, it's only needed by November 2017 and the registration (re-registration) would probably only start in May 2017. Between January 2017 and May 2017, the thread is likely to expire if not constantly updated.

Indeed, I do actually expect this thread to last only until the bulim transition is complete. Sorry. Perhaps the moderators could rename the thread to something Bulim specific? "GCM New/Transferred Buses for Bulim". Then we can make a Loyang thread when the time comes.
any bulim buses registered yet? sg plate?

Nope, given the trend of how BSEP buses are registered over the last 3 years, most likely it will be registered on the first working day of January 2016...
Is there any trend so far for the Bulim redeployments? Definitely some BSEP buses are being transferred into Bulim services in order to facilitate transfer, but is it clear whether these ones going in are, say, the older buses or the newer buses?

Looks like older ones are being redeployed. TT will get newer ones in the form of those registered straight to SG plate.
Is it possible to do the list of BSEP buses that are potentially transferred over for the Bulim Bus Package here?
This proposed change in thread is due to the fact that the list often falls back to pages behind due to the high activity of the Redeployments thread and the current Redeployments thread is reaching 2,000 posts.
The previous list is now deleted and brought over here with new updates of redeployments between BN/SL and AM/KJ.
If fellow forum members and moderators are dissatisfied with this new arrangement, this list will be deleted from this thread and brought over to the upcoming Part 22 of the Redeployments thread. Cheers.

Up to you and the moderators. It's quite a comprehensive list. Let's see what they say.
What I notice, though, is not many ADL buses being transferred. SBS' transfers include both Citaros and B9TLs but the SMRT side is mostly A22s with very few ADLs.

now Loyang went under GAG. Things are happening so quickly.
I guess for now this thread will consolidate registration of the GCM buses for both Loyang and Bulim then... SGxxxx still not registered.
Photo of SG5014R has been posted on Facebook. The bus is in white (we can only see the front). Volvo B9TL. In a depot not sure which one, doesn't look like Bulim... EDS display Off Service, bus is still unregistered.

I searched 'SG5014R' on Facebook (Facebook Search). (It is shared with Public, that is how I am able to see.)
Yeah, the front is white, but the interior colour scheme seems like the one on SBS Transit buses.
i saw the 5014 pic liao. no pics of SG plate citaros? and no buses reg yet? take so long

Yup, no buses registered yet.

So long? So fast register for what? Register n then park inside depot to rot? Now register u also can't take the bus.

what i don't get is why they arrange for those buses handing over to TT to spend so much time in depot with SG plates but then cannot use... if so they should have handed this batch to SBS first and then later only set aside some for TT... so early set aside for what, like u said then it will sit around without being used. if u say after reg they park inside depot to rot, err isn't that exactly what it is doing alr lol
Actually the thing is, if LTA wants to get things moving on this SG registration series, then the new batch of Wrights for Joo Koon Interchange should have just debuted with SG plates and SBS livery. LTA appears to be just creating more work for themselves by giving them SBS348x-349x plates and then later re-register to SG plate. It is counter-productive to their plan to eventually have a common registration series. They should have allocated that batch SG plates from the start, but allow full SBS livery including the front and the rear since it is on SBS services for now.
i read somewhere LTA is buying all the buses from both operators? So if that the case why so many buses tranfering going on? just use back whatever bus TT take over and add a few new one will do. What LTA should do is to paint all the buses to one standard LTA colour and have operators logo attach to it. also using one standard licence plate SGxxxx for example for all buses. waste money doing all the stupid jobs tranfering here and there. one time job should be better. actually those brand new buses not in use can have it paint white colour or LTA colour like the DTL train.

because SBST does not have space to park all these buses....its depots esp HGDEP/BBDEP/AMDEP are all at full capacity and SBST does not need these buses also... they have enough buses to deploy (including BSEP buses)...
So they just handover to TT and park inside Bulim Depot.. since they are not registered, so no issue at all of rotting, cos the lifespan also never start.. u register and then dun use, then there will be issue of rotting and wasting lifespan
