Later confirm will delay few years... Come out already, things like USB charging, LCD PIS etc. Either will not come true or will be replaced with substandard subsitute... Then only buy 10-20, the rest wait till after 2030 when the wrights retire... Not first time alr, cunning LTA always sua pattern to buy confidence of ppl...
Who knows, if ADL wins the bid, maybe may have to secretly ship back to Zhuhai for "defective cracks"... Heh

If it's based on the perception of both PTOs by members of the public, SMRT has indeed received more backlash than SBST in recent years. That is probably a reason.

Those USB charging, although I feel that it's useful, but I also think that it's useless. It's not so difficult to find a charging port nowadays? Given that office workers charge their phone at the desk, students charging their phone at school, workers charging their phone near their rest area. Or simply bring ur own portable charger.
LCD PIS is another useless thing. Displaying of words is good enough. Not every stops have places of attractions.
That expensive bell..for what? When those current ones works the same way.
Ppl alr have trouble looking at the small numbers on the display(of CDGE), yet the size remains.
TBH, the ADL looks good, but the MAN looks weird(in terms of the interior design etc.). But then, ADL design might have issue in terms of keeping the upper deck rear dust-free. MAN wise..what if the rear door is faulty? Troublesome(a little) to switch doors.
Too bad I couldn't visit all the 3 dates~

It wasn't originally for Tower, Tower got 314 out of the 317 buses it announced to the media that it would be getting from SBS and SMRT, it looks like the 3 buses which didn't go over are from SMRT. The 18 SBS buses which didn't go over just got theirs logos removed like those which went to Tower, probably because they went by perm service instead of transferred buses.

The MAN DD 12.8m concept bus is back in Singapore with the registration plate SG5999Z (not registered as of 20/7/2016). Expected to go on trial later this year

With new front dual type inward doors..But seriously its aint easy driving 12.8m buses let alone 13m with no tag axles..Exiting narrow bus stops is a big challenge.

You don't have to worry, the bus lobbyists elsewhere are already working overtime. They are very particular about whether LTA will deliver on this.
At that rate they are going, I will be very surprised if the third door of the single-deck version does not end up at the same location as the MAN concept bus. Or if it does not come with a semi-autonomous driving feature.
The latest round of bus allocations to operators simply made no sense. It looks more like some bus lobbyist is trying to check off his/her bucket list. The only thing it does achieve is to drive up costs. Even Transperth has the sanity not to do that.

These B9TL already sit around for few months already... so no big deal, if they continue to sit around for few more months...
all under LTA now.. so no issue on the lifespan, LTA can happy happy extend these B9 to 18/19 or even 20 years usage.

so have the A95s. i wonder what is stopping them from allocating A95s to SMRT, instead choosing to allocate a totally new bus type. Citaro, is still ok, but B9TLs?

Its no longer matter which model go to which Operators bro..Beside K230UBs and OC500LEs...Im not suprised if SBST and GA gets MAN too..
I understand LTA let GA trial the BYD K9..Hopefully deploy on svc 36 and let it burn..
