Saw an unknown GAG Citaro still in SBS livery passing through Pasir Ris St 72. Abit weird to see a public bus passing trough St 72 given that there is no current bus route passing this stretch of road... 1 lane bidirectional road. Heavy vehicles are allowed to use this road so no problem.

Normal scenario,Even in far end of Edgefield Plains some BCs also get lost and managed to do U turn in that road where no public bus goes..

I'm guessing they are training for svc 386? Not surprise if they get lost. Ever since 386 got extended to Punggol East/Edgedale Plains, the route simply got more complicated. In addition with the two pairs of bus stops at the 2 roundabouts (at Edgefield and Edgedale Plains) with different bus stop going different directions. I think it's better to make the mistake now rather than making the mistake after it GAG is in service and officially took over 386.

Hi mr bus_359, I think you meant 'ever since 386 got extended to Punggol east/edgedale plains'. Not edgefield plains.
Edgefield plains 1 roundabout.
Edgedale plains 1 roundabout.
Cheers. Thanks.

Oops, my mistake. Had to recheck the map. The road name was close... Newer towns without the usage of "Ave/St/Dr" confuses me hahaha. Thanks for pointing out the mistake. :)
It appears that the newest non-SG Wright's (SBS35xx and 21-23) are not going to GA, as they were not deployed or in some cases redeployed out of the Loyang routes.
SG1018G painted green and on training today (Go-Ahead). Front follows the TT style of thin silver strip rather than the SG1000G style.
In other news, GA Citaros now have an EDS format for 'Training Bus' (mixed upper/lower case), replacing the use of OUT OF SERVICE.

1071B also on training but using MB 1000th Citaros eds instead..Got almost all of the bus routes except NR and N Owl svc.

If GA have so few DDs, how to survive? In this case, 3467-3473, 3481 and 3482 must go to Loyang.
GAG may take only up to 3518. Even 3519 from HGDEP kicked out from 85.
Only one person to blame for this: LTA!
TT has so many rotting buses.
I have a feeling that SG5176 to 5185 will eventually be for Seletar.

why you keep on complaining about not enough DDs for BCM? and not enough DDs for BBDEP and not enough DD for sv43?
3509/3515/3520-3523 are out from sv2, but instead, they get some earlier BSEP buses (3474/3476-3480) to replace. so what is the issue?
further, if u have bother to check , current Go-ahead svc only using 101 DDs (excluding SP), and 216 SDs.. (while Bulim svc use 162 SD and 152 DDs).. so why do GA need so much DDs? even if GA is to convert some fleet to DD( sv2/12/43), it will need just another 10-15 DDs will do.

no one know whether the rotting buses (B9/A95) are for who.
But from what i think, i think it is an issue of insurance/parking spaces that why LTA have to register the buses.
previously, SBST can park their unregistered buses inside their own depots (there are space) and i think SBST did bought insurance coverages for their depot premises (which will cover the buses/assets) as well since the buses belong to SBST.
but now with the space running out at SBST depots, and with SBST HGBA still producing buses at around 20-25 B9TL per month, these buses have no space to go... so they have to park at either Bulim/Loyang.. but guess TT is not willing to pay extra for their depot insurance coverage to include these unregistered buses, thus LTA have to register them and buy individual insurance coverage instead... (Imagine, if the unregistered buses caught fires in BUDEP, who will pay for the damage??)
SBST can actually slow down the production but guess they dun care so much now, since the buses are under LTA, they just keep on producing and hand it over to LTA and let LTA headache (previously it is under SBST, they can decide on the production rate depending on space/need etc)..
same go for the new SMRT A95/.. not much space as well at SMRT depots, and these A95 are keep coming, thus, have to move to Bulim....
Citaros are the same issue as well..
LTA have slow down on the BSEP program and they dun really need so much new buses for TT/GA.. and thus those new buses are just rotting until they get utilized..
anyway, this is just my thoughts... do not shoot me..

This argument does make sense. And since LTA is ahgong, they can say that roadable lifespan start from the day the bus start revenue service and not from the day they are registered and insured, since they can change the law whatever way they want.
We will only know when it actually happens though.

LTA can simply extend the lifespan till 20 years.. no issue at all. Road tax also no issue, cos is LTA pay LTA (and they cant lay up the buses as well, cos no insurance coverage during layup period i think)).. the only problem is insurance premium (this one no choice).

Thanks for clarifying! But would that mean they will be allowed to extend the lifespan for more than 20 years? As in the "new" lifespan starts when the bus enters revenue service

LTA is the boss, they are the owners of the buses.they set the regulations. they can do whatever they wan. nobody know what happen 17 years later..

Makes sense. Just wondering why they only park at Bulim and not Loyang so far.

Loyang waiting for 100 SMRT buses in September and they are allocated near the main gate where you see those diesel truck refill those diesel

If not Loyang, then Seletar.
LTA is still short of buses overall for the remaining two packages. So much so they had to buy back some from the operators ("It will also directly buy 50 buses...").

That is indeed what is implied by the news item. It does not, however, account for the fact that SBS 21-23 are still comfortably deployed in SL and 3520-3523 recently went off to BB.

There is still time...Seletar won't be ready until 2018.
However the concept bus order will not make this timeline, so LTA has to make do with whatever it already had from the incumbents.
