Bulim package will use 367 buses.
188 Double Decker buses and 179 Single Decker buses.
In the beginning, they say the Bulim package will start with around 380 buses. In reality, it will start with 367.
They say the Loyang package will start with around 400 buses. I think in reality, it will start with around 390.
In total, around 757 buses (367 + 390) will be used in GCM this year.
The easiest way is to take all the government-funded BSEP buses and deploy them on GCM bus routes.
The other bus routes using government-funded BSEP buses can use other buses. Some of them that are WAB may have to temporarily revert to non-WAB.
So far, how many government-funded BSEP buses are there ah?

What if they need to upgrade some SDs to DDs? They will need to redeploy among the 367 buses I guess?
LTA should buy the facelift E500,A95,A24 & VDL Citea 120-310 to replace the OCs,Citaros and the O405Gs for SMRT.
Scania N320UD and Scania N280UB to replace the MKIVs,VOs,Tridents and VSOs.
Originally posted by Gus.chong:Instead of trying to do the maths for buses allocated to respective schemes, why not try to do the maths for the respective models already registered? I highly doubt that the figure allocated to BSEP still remains as 296 given that no one had expected new buses to be registered as SG regos...
If I consider the new SG rego buses to be funded (and therefore owned) by LTA before they announced the buyover, 92 Wrights and 77 Citaros (including 6546-6549, after all there are only 100 left to be delivered, it does not make sense to me that 6846-6865 are Batch 2, because they made up a total of 125 buses if under Batch 3) had been registered under LTA ownership. There will be 127 left for the original BSEP 2, and given that 240 out of the 665 have been registered, the remaining order uncompleted would have been 298. But do not forget some buses had already been delivered but not yet registered, because so many regoless Citaros are inside C&C recently.
Furthermore, the 346 buses undelivered were due for completion in 2017 which may have included BSEP in my opinion because they are all from a single order.
What for LTA take over BSEP Buses which they are already doing the funding?
those SG plates buses are from the current Bsep batch 2 buses.
Based on yor logic, LTA should take over 127 citaros (since include those unregistered BSEP one)

MIC buses gaining lots of popularity. Their Japanese counterparts are losing ground as a result.
Even Perth also using AnKai DD on its city explorer tours.

Quality vs cost, simple. The Japs used to be cheap (though not nasty for its time), but they have lost that advantage, in turn they have gained a reputation for building quality buses. I think it is still difficult to find a China made bus that can last as long as a Japanese bus.

who knows plot twist one day they go to smrt as bsep. since lta buys the bus and distributes directly to the operators now.

Not impossible, and I wouldn't call it a plot twist, as LTA can do so, not something outside of expectation.

This batch is still under SBST BSEP.

This is the thing: there's still a reason why it's unlikely that SMRT will get SG-registered B9TLs. Take note that I said unlikely, not impossible. This is simply because SMRT and TIBS before it have never procured Volvo buses for use before, which we could say is because CDG is the Volvo dealer (or whatever reason, really, that's not the point).
If SMRT were to take in a batch of B9TLs under BSEP, they would have a hard time training their BCs to drive the B9TLs, as well as maintaining the B9TLs. Not to mention that this will in all likelihood be a temporary arrangement, since if SMRT were to get SG B9TLs they would likely be transferred off to Tower Transit by the middle of the year, so they probably figure it's really not worth their time learning the ins and outs of B9TLs only to lose them after a matter of months. Better stick to SBS-spec Citaros, because while they may be SBS-spec, they're still Citaros, which at least SMRT maintenance is familiar with.
That said, I still see a need for more SMRT HC buses, whether they be Volvos or not.
SMRT very choosy,Even with the E500 which has 340hp/1500nm they claimed its a bit underpowered.

it will be easier to ask SBST to operate the new service instead.....the no of BSEP buses bought for SMRT is already fixed.....
In future just let SMRT operate three depots only(Seletar,Mandai and Gali Batu/Bt Panjang).Tower Transit one from Bulim and one from the Central,Go Ahead one from Loyang and one from West while the remaining goes to SBST.
Is it possible that when SBS9419T on 43 is de-registered next month, it will be replaced by a SG-series GCM bus (51xx Wrights)?

Yes
At long last - the livery options for the common livery are revealed - pure red and pure green.

Rather underwhelming eh?

Why you are so confidence that it will be replaced by a SG plate bus? Even sv43 is going over to go ahead, it is still under SBST now. N why LTA would pay for the cost of replacement bus for SBST?

Apologies, was rushing to type because of the GCM livery announcement.
I meant that it is likely that if a new bus were to replace it, it will bear an SG plate, since I suspect all new buses are being delivered with SG plates, a result of the LTA taking over SBS contracts.
