Nowadays pax very smart, they knew 168 good frequency and if this SD came full loads, they will wait for another bus that is DD.
Originally posted by BusAnalayzer:883 definitely got capacity upgrade, now operating with fleet of 7 buses
4 DDs, 3 SDs.
Most of the time all 4 DDs are under full day, while the 3 SDs under split..
Somewhere after evening there will be 1 DD swopped out with 1 SD..

Today 3 DDs, 4 SDs on 883.
Full DD fleet + 1 rigid on 806 (no bendies at all)
4 DD + 4 SD on 804 (no bendies)
807 have 2 bendies
969 have +10 SDs...
Should be 981.
41 & 49 weekdays 1 SD duty to DD.
41 now is 5 DD & 3 SD 7A-P & 2S with several block practice jumpbus.
49 now is 7 DD & 4 SD with 9A-P & 3S
also several duties practice jumpbus
Really think that bus services serving tertiary institutions (Poly/ITE) shd have more down routes. especially the following services
69, 74, 88, 118, 159
69, 74, 88 shd be made full DDs during AM/PM Peak.
More 118A/B trips
maybe 159A can have DD deployment (crossover from other services since there aren't any height restrictions from Sengkang Int to AMK MRT)

Add 50 and 129.
31 also qualifies but it already has a lot of trips doing 31A.
Although some services have height restrictions, but their respectice SWTs does not have any. Since SWTs are meant to cater to high demand sectors of their parent routes, I personally think that operators can deploy DDs to those SWTs that fit the bill (ie: no height restriction, high passenger load that SDs cannot handle) Since some feeder services (that have DDs) only experience high load during some trips, operators can cross the bus over to another service that requires the DD more. .

Where do you stay?Jurong West?
Hi.
About svc 883’s frequency, it looks quite bad on weekends. There are only 3 SDs on service.
The crowd pax level is extremely bad at Yishun that several people mostly Canberra residents couldn’t board the bus to reach home on time. I’m wondering if they should add additional 1 bus or upgrade around 2 buses to DDs or both to ease the crowd level.
Weekday peak hours frequency looks fine since there are around 3-4 DDs plus SDs but I don’t think SDs are enough to handle the crowd pax level during these periods.

Weekdays should be fine with 4 DDs and 3 SDs.
Weekends should be 3 DDs and 3 SDs.
Problem is not the fleet but more to improper deployment of DD during those timings and some BCs love to speed to avoid crowded bus stops.
Svc 247 & 248 should have downgraded to 3 SDs,Their DDs can deploy to other service that badly need DDs.
Svc 192 can downgraded 2 DDs to SDs especially during weekends.
Svc 193 is fine with 3-4 SDs.My 3rd Uncle is perm on this SVC after decades driving 157.
136 badly need school hours DDs,Always see 2-3 SDs having trouble tanking all the students.Since GAS has excess of DDs why not deploy 2 for school hours/peak hours and 1 running full day?
43 currently also doesn't warrant full DDs,Maybe can downgraded 4 DDs to SDs.
359 loadings for St 51 is extremely high during peak hours,Maybe deploy 2-3 DDs?
Service 4 need 1 SD convert to DDs,Current 4 SDs and 2 DDs doesn't help during peak hours...Maybe 3 DDs and 3 SDs will be nice.
34A can renumbered as 34M and use majority DDs... crowded from PGL all the way to Tampines Hub...
Can use 4 DDs and 2 SDs to compliment 34..

Today's 883 fleet is still quite bad. 2 Citaros and 2 A22s on service. Around late evening and night left 3 buses on service which is worse for pax level at Yishun.

I avoid confrontation here these days but I beg to differ on svc 43.
You need to see the heavy loading towards NEX in the morning on 43/43M from Buangkok Green. Most DDs have 90-110 pax on board. Some back to back ones still have around 65-70 pax. It does warrant full fleet DD.
Likewise svc 70 needs more SD -> DD upgrades. AM peak loading is not manageable by SDs.
116 / 147 help to pick up pax along YCK Road from HG Ave 2 junction as 43/70 dont offer space for commuters. 116 these days getting quite crowded at YCK road because of this reason.
Seems like SBST has downgraded a couple of morning peak slots on 851 from DD to SD in the Bukit Merah direction...

still 6-7 DDs on 851.. but maybe the sequences adjusted.. too bad due to bad planning by LTA, SBST is not getting new DDs for seletar package.. in fact, they have only 2 Spare DDs (7589/5546, excluding those just transfer from SMRT which should be perm) so most of the services does not have fleet upgrade.. guess have to wait till the Euro 6 DDs arrived.
since when they withdraw sv70B?

where is bendy buses for 851? SBST can use one or two for that SD time slots. or maybe redeploy some under use DDs from some where for those feeder bus service in yishun.

lol ya since when
never ever see any 70B's during AM Peak
1 Sv883 Split shift DD scheduled to crossover Sv167 for 1 full trip (SBW-BKM & BKM-SBW) during weekday PM peak..

So meaning 167 got 1 perm and 1 crossover DD..
And I wonder why SMRT can't even spare 2 DDs for service 167?If they're short of DDs,can request to LTA for exchange with GAS since the latter is short of SDs..
SV76 downgrade one morning trip from DD to SD due to crossover to sv850E
mondy 720am slot done by 6810, tuesday by 6575, today done by 6658.
sv70 have at least 3-4 downgrade for AM peak trips to SD as well due to crossover to 850E
today saw SG5558, SG5315, SG5179, SG5311 on 850E. the last bus is quite empty...maybe passengers are not aware of that new trip..
Seems like 851 weekday schedule now under SBST only has 6 DD slots...
Downsize as compared to the last few months under SMRT.
