LTA has screwed up the DD allocation under Seletar package. Given so many SDs, that there is hardly scope for upgrade.

saw 8 DDs slot on bus app this morning...,.. dun think SMRT got more than 6 DD slots also, (except for weekend, where there is more DDs).

because LTA did not allocate even ONE new DD to Seletar...they would rather put 14 DDs on 7A/7B, and DDs on 12E/147E instead and SBST have to even do 8 trips crossover to 850E from 70/76/133.
GA/TT each took in at least 40 new DDs....

Yes total screw up. Not sure 12E even needs DDs for now. Again classic case of waste and wrong deployment of resources.

851 now has even fewer HC slots as compared even before DDs were introduced to 851 when it only had 0405Gs... seriously LTA screwed up 851 big time, its now worse off under SBST as compared to SMRT...

It was worse during the period just before/initially when DDs were introduced.. At 1 point only 3-5 HC/bendies perm (wkday). So considering that its better now.
But the last few months under SMRT there were arnd 10 (dd+bd), as compared to 6 dd currently
At least 5 bendies on 171 today.
For 854 fleet during Sun and PH, it seems to have 3-6 DDs lately.
184 fleet seems to be operating with full fleet WAB rigids on weekends.
Usually demand between botanic gardens and marina centre is quite high especially on Sunday's
Last Sunday a 171 rigid came at Anglo-Chinese Sch bus stop at around 1pm and it was filled to the door
Since there are many surplus bendies being thrown out from Yishun feeders after the Seletar package took over, SMRT should consider deploying back perm bendies for 171 and 859.
Some guy edit Sgwiki sv851 with 7 perm DDs.

Hmm how come 171 demand so high? I thought since it duplicates DTL loading should have decreased? Or its demand for its unique stretch of its route saw increase in demand?

171 already had fairly high demand between Botanic Gardens (or to some extent Clementi Rd junction) and Orchard before DTL2. Taking MRT from Botanic Gardens to Orchard, for such a short distance, can be quite tedious, as one needs to take DTL for 2 stops, tap out, walk through the underpass link, and tap in again just for 1 more stop. Not to mention passengers from the bus stops inbetween DTL stations.
I believe 171 lost a lot of long-distance pax that go up all the way to Bukit Panjang. But that's not the case for short-distance ones.
On the other hand, the Yishun-BPJ sector obviously needs bendies.

LTA is thinking that there will be demand when express service come into service. maybe they are closely monitoring both service. Maybe LTA should start of by having SDs bus first. And deploy the DDs to other service that need them. Maybe someone should tell the LTA planners directly. Public feed back is good.

Loading is mainly between the section from Stevens and Newton to Orchard road. There are a spring of big condos there, hence 171/700 get good loading there.
171 loading between Botanic Gardens and BPJ is quite poor - usually ranges in 20-40 pax.

Yep. It's a no-brainer if you ask me. Start with SDs, upgrade to DDs when they need it
