Capacity changes on bus services (Part 2)

  Based on my observation..
  
  1 DD will do 922 around 0615+ for one trip, and disappeared.. Probably crossover from 972..
  
  Meanwhile another DD will do 922 from 1300+ until 1950+..
  
  And yup only for weekdays.. Weekends no show..

  Probably will stabilise once the Euro6 DD replace the O405Gs.

  5872E replaced 1247G or 1469K Both are out on 900 1247G is spare 1469K MIA

  Today 901 got 2 DDs on back to back slots with 02-03 minutes interval. Did 3 trips in same pattern.

  No DD on 900 (seems to be transferred to 901 today)

  1 DD as usual on 903.

  The usual 900/A DD will only do 900A in the morning and keep around 8+.. There's one DD running 900/A now fyi..

  GAS service 17 seems to full fleet DD.

  TTS service 106 got 1 AM/PM SD slot to DD.

  SBST service 21 got 1 A/P SD slot to DD.

  SMRT service 854 got 1 bendy slot to DD.

  5872E perm BC i saw in the morning. 12pm to 6.30pm i see again. Then 7pm come back standby BC

  If SMRT can run a limited-stops service of 975 from Choa Chu Kang Lot One to the National Service training areas, on Weekends 7:30pm to 8:30pm (Saturday & Sunday), that would be ideal, and better than having 975B, which is essentially just 975 running the same route until somewhere which NSF don’t go. So what’s the point of having 975B? Might as well increase the capacity of 975, or better still, introduce a limited-stops service 975E that only calls at NS training areas.

  I'd rather a 975M that loops at lor rusuk, and increase the freq of 975 in general

  975M as you proposed can have some peak hour DDs. Loading and distance from Old CCK Road to CCK Mrt and beyond to BPJ justifies DDs for this route.

  Also, 172 needs more DDs. Every bus on 172 at a frequency of 06-08 minutes is packed to door. Even the DDs are packed to door.

  There is 979-979-13 (979S103) tho.. not all buses come out at the same time?

  Loading justifies. The DDs find it difficult to tank load during peak hours.

  Usually there'll be up to 4 979/M buses parking at BPBI during peak hours..
