Hi mr sbs6853S, if you want sbs 76 reinstated to marine terrace, then what are you going to do with sbs 134 and 150? You want all 3 services to serve marine terrace where in the past only sbs 76 does so? Or you have other plans for sbs 134 and 150? Note that there are also many other bus services (13, 16, 196) serving marine terrace and even more bus services passing by Marine parade road. I feel that it is really too many already. Cheers. Thanks.
Originally posted by Rui jing:Not true, there were almost a bus load full of pax on sv134 citaro today. About 35-40 pax. This is due to the free rides given on sv134, people understand the loss of sv76 and promotional posters are well set up along the affected bus stops.
free rides makes a big difference to the pax also, take a look at sv47 loading on the first few days. Almost an empty bus, there were no free rides given and it passes by the estates. Good move by the authorities this round.
same situation for sv124 cut in route to Hbf, believe sv120 had free rides also.
sv47 can have full sd fleet on Sundays. Loading will be just right.
Hi mr Rui jing, why you say not true when it is not even 1 month which is the timeframe which I give? Aiyo don't count those promotional free rides on the first day which inflates the figures for passengers load. I am also 1 of the passengers. Wait for 4 weeks at least to have a better gauge. Cheers. Thanks.

I believe the loading would be roughly the same as when sv76 was around, if lets say one sv135/sv43 comes before at paya lebar, maybe the loading will vary, half bus at least to a full DD/SD bus. I frequent this stretch from paya lebar downwards everyday, the pax at peak hrs to marine prade is always in good demand. You will see a sea of pax pushing their way when a 135/43/76 bus comes. Roughly from 6.30pm - 7.45pm daily.
This time sv134 has got good publicity I believe by one month many will adopt 134 like how 76 was earlier. Don't think demand will drop cause there isn't any MRT line between paya lebar - tanjong Katong - marine parade. The pax would be fairly similar. I can observe on that if I have time. Cheers.
Loading of sv 134 at 6.45pm from Paya Lebar MRT
day 2 of operation.
bus in front: 135 (04 min), 43 (06 min), 134 (13 min).
Paya Lebar MRT - 61 (0/53) I was the last one to board so I counted 53 pax boarding and so 8 were already on board, as after boarding counted 61 pax
Tanjong Katong Rd -- 63 (-7/9), 56 (-14/7), 45 (-15/4), 45 (-5/5), 45 (-2/2)
approx. 43 of 61 on board at Paya Lebar alighted along Tanjong Katong Road.
Amber Road -- 41 (-6/2)
Parkway Parade -- 33 (-17/9) I alighted here.
* Loading is here for everyone to see. peak loading is 63 pax.
* Upper deck had half the people on board
* Just to remind, there is 135 (04 mins in front) and 43 (06 mins in front)
* Overall people know 134 and have taken to it nicely. Loading is quite okay.
* I will do 43 sometime next week from Serangoon as I want to see the loading from Upper Paya Lebar beyond Paya Lebar MRT.
Service 43 now seems to has more A/P DDs, and possibly 1-2 perm upgrades.
No change for 43M.
It seems to be coming at the same time as the GCM mass-redeployments.
256 seems to be getting another fleet downgrade recently as I spotted 3 SD (2 citaros and 1 KUB) and 1 DD operating during the afternoons for Monday and Tuesday
Before that, the SD and DD are on alternate slots where at Pioneer MRT, I can see 1 SD or DD heading towards BNL and 1 SD or DD (eg: if opposite is SD, the bus towards Joo Koon is usually SD) towards Joo Koon Int at the same time or about 2-3 mins difference
256 loading is really poor during the off-peak and I think the best is to run 256 on either full fleet SD or only deploy DD during peak hours where it can get decent loading where people commute to and from their workplace

256 can be run only during AM and PM peak. No need for A/P. But that would inconvenience the 4-5 people/bus who take 256 during off-peak. Only SDs should be used.
Maybe svc 134 can terminate at Upp East Coast and svc 150 can loop at East Coast Park Svc rd compliment svc 401?Lol..

Hi mr array88, marine terrace public transport is not as bad as what one thinks to be. The area certainly has more than 3 bus services. They are 13, 16, 196, 134, 150 and many supporting services along marine parade road. Cheers. Thanks.

Hi mr carbikebus, totally unlikely. Too many services frequent the same old place. Moreover, sbs 150 to loop at east coast park service road? Complement an infrequent Sbs 401? Cheers. Thanks.
