108: Hougang Central <> Tampines Interchange (trunk) duplicating 27. 27 in turn will be Tampines Interchange <> Changi Airport (short trunk)
501: Sengkang <> Tomlinson Road (loop) (express) - route proposed as 500.
Hi mr busanalyser, 507, 108, 27 too massive disruption for too many passengers. Interrupt the daily lives of too many people. Sector from Hougang interchange to buangkok MRT and sengkang east ave area lost their direct bus to airport. This may lead to huge complaints. Once again, people having direct service lost it without any alternatives. Cheers. Thanks.

I do feel it makes sense as you will have express service from Sengkang with one change. Currently 27 from Buangkok or Hougang via Tampines Ave 10, 9, 7, 4, 5 is too much time consuming.
People are better off transferring at TPE Punggol to 858. They will save 30 minutes one way travel time and one hour daily which is big amount of time saving for everyone.
But you are right. May not happen as it is a BOLD move.

A few more hours operational alr

Guess any "express" services to the CBD are now introduced as CDS services instead, so 513 may have been the last one.
500 route speculations:
In any case, it would be unlikely for 500 to significantly duplicate any sections of 102, 163, 85, 156, 52, 985, 506 and 502. It may probably serve Clementi and/or parts of Jurong East but not Bt Batok or Bidadari.

I agree with you,24,27,53 all winding routes. Why not a new service from Hougang/Sengkang via TPE bus stop then express to Airport to compliment 858 instead?27 can cut short Tampines to Changi Airport..

That's exactly how I feel. Changi Airport services should be express because anyway they spend a lot of time within Changi to go from one terminal to another and all the security checks.
There should be dedicated trunk services for the other part of the route with high capacity buses.
Well I'm glad that LTA has the idea of express svcs... like 500. Following hk's style.

Hi mr smb145B, any typo error? Sengkang east int? Should be sengkang int right? Cheers. Thanks.
Coincidentally, Sengkang and Taman Jurong currently do not have express bus to the city.
Maybe they wanna create express bus routes for Sengkang and Taman Jurong, then they feel that maybe its more economical to combine two routes into one, that's why they come up with 500.
Hopefully, this 500 can also reduce travel time between Jurong West and Sengkang.
Currently, it takes around 1.5 hrs to travel between JW and SK. If 500 can run from JW to SK under 1 hr, that would be great. In fact, I think 30 mins is possible during non-peak hrs...

But travel demand between Boon Lay/Jurong West and Sengkang is limited, unless you're talking about NTU. If these rumours are true, I think svc 500 would be mainly for JW - city and Sengkang - city, rather than JW - Sengkang. If skipping the city area, the most likely route may be Sengkang - Bt Panjang/CCK - Boon Lay. Let's just wait and see...
Other than new svcs for Sengkang, we should see new svcs in Tampines (from the bus int extension, possibly to St 86, Tampines Concourse, Tampines North Ind Est and/or St 92 Ind Est), and new/amended svcs in Tuas when TWE MRT opens (route amendments to improve connections to the new MRT stns, maybe a new svc for Tuas South).

When a bus that I was on passed by the Sengkang expansion, someone said:
"Why must they build a new bus interchange next to another interchange?"
