And don't forget that 129 does stop outside Century square and Tampines Mall, so even if you have to transfer to MRT, not bad option.

Just don't bother about him...
On a more serious note, the bus stop at Ave 4 is still some distance away from MRT exits (about the same walking distance as the interchange). But guess it's still better than waiting for 3-5 mins just for the bus to enter Tampines Int.
129 gonna start in 2 days... TBF I'm not rly looking forward to it.
It's gonna end up in 117 and 118 footsteps, a draggy route that deceives pax into thinking it's fast and wasting the huge potential the route has...
Really wasted imo, such a good job done by planners, only to be singlehandedly crushed by retarded and incompetent timetable planners...

Be more positive my friend. All along we are requesting for express service like 129. It's a good move and I think it will be a useful service like 118.

Hi mr SMB128B, I will try to take service 129 on first day just to have a good feel of the route. Cheers. Thanks.

Hi mr busanalyser, the run time for service 129 is 1 and a half hours for full trip. This is similar to 43. I expect certain sectors of the route for 129 to have significant loading. Also expect 129 to be quite useful. Hope all of us will not be disappointed. As what SMB128B pointed out, the runtime may not be too nice. Cheers. Thanks.

Yea but no point having express when the bus is slow af... Compared to regularly driven current svcs, not much diff alr
Even for 118. Yes sure it's useful but its speed limited its effectiveness... A friend of mine teaching at TP said not much difference from before... He stays Punggol and used to transfer 34

They'd better be JOKING with the 90min run time. FFS it's a 20km route. 161 is 23km and does that in 65mins. And 43 doesnt even have any express sectors.

90 mins?? Are you sure?
They should be able to do the route in 65 minutes from end-to-end without layover time.

Hi mr SMB128B, yes I understand the agony. 117 is a 20km route with 1 HR run-time. I often take full journeys and also find it tiring. Only like the portion that it passes by huge water bodies near seletar area. Also find it very tiring that the bus captains like to slow down especially along yishun ave 1. Just hope for the best for 129. Shall not pass any direct unsupporting remarks for 129 just in case I am labelled a spoilsport. Cheers. Thanks.

Hi mr busanalyser, yes I am sure. Not only said by me, another guy in this forum has also said so. 20+km in 90 min. Hmm. Hope they fine tune it downwards after the first few weeks. If not, will be much more realistic to use MRT transfer to bus. Cheers. Thanks

See... The bolded part is exactly what I was talking about...
When buses snail even the most direct of routes will end up being a shitty option...

Hi mr SMB128B, is there a way that bus captains don't follow to runtime? No right? Cheers. Thanks.

Yea... So they should not even have screwed up the runtime as such in the first place!

Sometimes I wonder if these people know what a semi-express service means.
most smrt 'express' service still got the best runtime..
What so suprised?Even express 518 crawling like mad.LTA logic,12 mins 3 bus stops,Then another case 12mins for 8 bus stops..What the hell..

Hi mr array88, normal bus services with similar distance 20km+ like 117 runtime is 60 min. So semi-express bus services with same distance 20km+ like 129 runtime should be faster than 60 min given it is semi-express? How come they make it 90 min? Cheers. Thanks.

All revenue for LTA,969 previously express till TPE bus stops. Those new citizens reside along concourse complained having to walk to MRT/Int.
So far only spotted 3 Citaros on 129
All, whole journey for service 129 is exactly an hour from tampines to st Michael.
15 min out of whole of tampines, 24 min to reach Bartley mrt, 30 min reach comfort delgro braddell road, 37 min reach braddell mrt, 41 min reach toa payoh mrt, 47 min reach famous balestier rd stretch, 53 min reach 1 loop around whampoa, 1 hr reach st Michael terminal.
In future, add 10-15 min once passengers loading start to pick up. Cheers. Thanks.
