The buses are somehow empty due to the inappropiate type which is used. DD used for SD loading services which is the cause.
Need address this root cause instead of using a wrong type of reason to deny other areas which currently lack a service and slam all areas together. Cheers.
Punggol East (Waterway side) area is developed for a new service??

Anyway its LTA decision and i strongly support to cut half for long distance service that are jam-proned.

I support too but not trunks like 76 and 189. They should first touch likes of 14, 51, 61, 67, 961 etc.

True for more than a year 382G/W leave interchange with <10 pax at most timings, max 20 pax.

Hi mr busanalyser, also need to take into account the route that it will use to reach Punggol east (waterway side).
Moreover, flats are coming up. One condo riverparc (main entrance facing Punggol drive and side door facing Punggol east) has been built for years. Too bad it is a condo thus number of people taking the buses are not that much.
Note normally a new service will be launched just 1-2 months before the BTO starts for key collection. Cheers. Thanks.

Hi mr busanalyser, nothing wrong with 382G/W launch too. Even with <10 pax leaving interchange. Even if there are <5 pax leaving interchange, it is still the only service going into sumang crescent, sumang link, sentul crescent. So the no of people boarding is not crucial. The bus 382G/W was launched just 1 day ahead of Punggol cove primary school opening and was also tasked for this issue.
Launch of each new bus service has its intended objective and place to serve residents. Even if most residents do not board 382G/W, you also cannot take it out just because loading is very poor. Purpose of bus service is to connect even the most remote area. The objective is every flat needs to have a bus service within 400 metres. Cheers. Thanks.

I don't know. I haven't heard news on 700/700A yet. Last heard was the MP is fighting with LTA on the shortening of routes/withdrawal of services.
Originally posted by carbikebus:Anyway its LTA decision and i strongly support to cut half for long distance service that are jam-proned.
For now where LTA pays the different PTO for the no. of trips and the mileage, PTO will suffer if the service is cut short or withdrawed.

Hi mr p228, when is the last heard? Dec 2016, Jan 2017, feb 2017? Cheers. Thanks.

76 shouldn't really have been touched. 189 could have been merged with 95 when there was still a chance. could turn the merged entity into a joint control route (BU/TT and AR/SBS).
See route suggestions for my proposed ideas for 14, 111 & 198.

76 shouldn't have been cut, indeed. Might have been more bearable if 43 was modified to Eunos, and 76 extended to UEC.
189 (whether former or current route) shouldn't merge with 95, seeing that they serve entirely different groups of people. Better for 95 and 96 to merge instead.

Not disagreeing 382G/W should have been launched but a year later. In the meantime, they should have diverted a low loading trunk like 117 or 119 till further developments. Once developments up, then they can reinstate 117 or 119 back to original route and then launch 382G/W.
Anyway, I am an economics person. My way of thinking is a bit different, and I accept it. Cheers. You don't need to reply and continue the argument :) I accept your point.

Nor 43 IMO as it caters further down to Siglap, UEC and many people from Paya Lebar take it as a direct bus during peak hours.
135 cut would still have been okay because I haven't seen many pax taking 135 through and through b/w Marine Parade and Macpherson estate. There would be few who would have to transfer at Paya Lebar to 43/76 but both are/were DD services. Or take 40 (a bit longer but direct, and parallel to MP).

I saw. I had a different suggestion, not sure you saw.
14: UEC <> Ghim Moh (merged with 111)
111: Scrap (use number later for NEL service)
149: Marina Center <> Clementi (new service, uses 14 route from Orchard to Clementi)
46: Bedok <> Tampines St 45 (loop) (covers missing section of svc 14 b/w UEC and Tanah Merah, provides direct link b/w UEC/ Bayshore and Bedok, connects DTL3 to Tampines East estate via st 32/34/45)

Last heard is in Jan 2017. So I won't expect the withdrawal of 700/700A or the shortening of 171 so soon.
Sorry, 14 and 147 cannot be cut.
14 is going double decker in full very soon :)

Your proposal to merge 14 and 111 is unfeasible as 111 passes through the Marina area which 14 omits. It would be confusing to guide 14 down to Marina area.

There is 149.

14 already 95% double deckers except one Scania.

hmm but now seems like not going to be the case
If 973 is really going to be launched on 26 Feb, posters should have been out way before this. (Judging by the trend of recent new services such as 129 and 883, posters were released nearly a month before actual implementation)
14,30 & 196 have SD supplement because of their fast forward version

149:110 from Marina to Clementi
111:Marina Centra loop at Ghim Moh Link better

No in addition to that 14 has 1 SD, 30 has 5 SDs and 196 has 6 SDs (that do not do the "fast forward" version).
