But still, SBS has more experience (but still cock up sometimes) than SMRT in some ways. Essentially its not solely by spamming buses that will solve problem (even though i understand that there are indeed times where no buses appear), but other factors also contribute to the jams, like the way traffic flows and the number of counters opened for immigration (human traffic) that affects the entire transport across the causeway (someone somewhere else suggeste that expanding the bridge could help in some ways hahaha )
Experience yes but BCM is about adhere to schedule and regulations unlike last time company decide almost everything so experience just play a bit part only..Even the experienced SBST/SMRT joining GAS/TTS.

hmm true. Come to think of it, like they must run according to schedule, i rmb vaguely frm some sources (i think newspaper) they say this GCM would help in situations like if a bus breakdown or smth then the company can repond quickly to help the stranded pax and BC. I understand that carbikebus is under GAS, does this happen, or could it be i misinterpreted? Cheers.
With all bus packages to be tendered out in future, is it possible to have more than 5 bus operators in Sg? It was mentioned that there would be 3 to 5 operators in the long term, so would LTA restrict future tenders starting from Bt Merah bus package to the current operators (incl possible new operator for Seletar)?

5 possible if they add 1 more bus package to 15.
SBST:6
SMRT:3
TT/GA/New operator:2 each
Rail lines also must put on tender
Haiyo,Wonder what take them so long to announce the Seletar winner?🤔😩
I have a feeling that SBS Transit will win the contract of Seletar, and there will be a moment of excitement as SBS Transit begins operating the ADL E500, MAN A22 and MAN A95 buses.

I don't think so,Not even SMRT...Its either TTS,Others or even (Don't Laught) GAS.
February ending soon. So let's wait for march 2017. Cheers. Thanks.
TT just ripped up the contracts of 6 new bus captains as they were over-staffed. Will it be taken into consideration when the tender is awarded?

Overstaffed? Then why some company(s) still have shortage?

funny.. TT overstaff does not mean other company is overstaff...
i believe that TT have remove certain buses/duties from their bus services (with improved run times), thus, there are so call storage of buses happening... 23 buses went into storage...and thus there is excess BCs...
based on current fleet situation, there are around 308 on perm service... total fleet is 377 (including storage buses).. 23 buses in storage, which mean they are operating with 354 buses right now..
I don't know what you guys think but IMO TT is doing a way better job than GA.
GA services still got frequent bunching and schedule delays from interchange itself. TT on the other hand is managing services very well IMO.

Instructions from BOCC and BOCC will feedback to LTA..So the operators have nothing to worry as long they follow instructions..I guess Seletar winner will be announce this March and probably April or May they will start interview.Operation I think will on November or December.

Since it is under BCM, why didn't LTA ask TT to transfer drivers to GAS?

GAS now also more than enough...
Lta cannot make it to the bus service

BCs are not transferrable assets under BCM, unlike buses... Each operator is free to hire their own staff and decide on how much they want to pay them...

Hi mr lemon1974, I believe TT has no right to remove duties from their bus services. The number of trips should be mandated by LTA and bus service companies need follow rigidly. If wrong, please correct me. Cheers. Thanks.

I believe its already mandated by LTA before any decision can be make.
Oh by the way SBST also has start the BCM things except that the still practice dual control for some of their services..Svc 5 is now under BBDEP/ARBP/BMI purview although its still dual control by Arbp/Bndep.21 now under AMDEP control although its still AMDEP/BNDEP..

SBS is not stupid to do all these kind of things. Only SMRT does, change here change there.
They will only use the BCM thing if it uses the existing depot.
